The Headless Client does not auto start the mission.

Previously, a dedicated client *did* auto-start a mission (by emulating an "OK" click on the player slot screen). The new "headless" client does not.

However, as Dwarden has said, there is now an -autoinit parameter, which I am about to go and play with :)

and it works fantastically. Thank you VERY much BI :) Servers are now auto-restarting and loading a mission in less than a minute, meaning we get a fair chance on the server browser :P

Dwarden, my headless client seems to be getting kicked the second he joins the server. See spoiler below for further details.

This is the servers RPT error when the split moment he connects and gets kicked:

This is the server monitor:

The linux server with headless client does not work properly.

Running on debian 6

Server and headless client running on the same root machine.

Test with Xeno´s Domination 3.08 and Domination XTRA 3.0

Test 1

Arma server (Linux) running with linux headless client connected.

If Domination is started, only the Main Target is created, no Radio Tower, no Enemy Camps ... no Sidemission.

On the main target are some enemies and vehicles spawned, they are not moving and they can´t see you (standing 1 meter in front of them). Server fps 45-50.

Test 2

On Windows Arma Server (Wine) with Windows headless client connected and the same mission all runs fine. Server fps 45-50.

Test 3

On Windows Arma Server (Wine) with Linux headless client connected, not running, same as Test 1. Server fps 45-50.

Test 4

On Linux Arma Server with Windows headless client (Wine) connected, main target - radio tower ... sidemissions start is ok but enemy moving is bad. hanging, sliding, lagging (range was around 500m). Server fps 45-50.

maybe it´s our older Debian 6, but the arma server without headless client runs fine. Can any one confirm the same ?

Have you updated/resigned your server files? There were problems with some heli addon ebo/pbo. I had the same problem and redownloaded the server package and it was gone :)

as you told me in that thread you ancounter exactly the same error as I do.

Only differences are: We use CentOS 6.6 (so its not only Debian 6) and we don't use an Headless Client at all.

For everybody:

Tankbuster from XTRA already fixed an issue with the headless client (Armaholic Forum). Its now fully working on Windos machines.

The most annoying thing about that is, that my group just rented a root server for 70€ just to have that mission running for public. Good that it is not working (not anymore - it worked two weeks ago).

Always good to have a Wine installation too. Performance is very good and a headless client with Domination a must have. :)

Right. That was it. Thanks Logo. The TADST tool wasn't doing a Headless client, just localclient array. Fixed. Meanwhile, the HC connects fine - the mission is crashing the server. Gonna have to figure this one out...

We are trying to get this to work... the HC and the server seem to launch okay but the HC isn't trying to connect to the server...

In the server.cfg for the dedi server we added the line

headlessClients[]={"127.0.0.1","74.91.123.10"};

We can see the virtual entity role but the HC doesnt attempt to connect..

for linux you can find the PERF2 server files but Domination XTRA still not running with it.

Why you don´t install a Arma 3 Server under Wine ? The performance is very good.

To get DAC working, I take I need to edit all the DAC scripts from if(isServer) statements to if(isServer (name player == HCName)) ???

I trying to get it to work. Questions how much of a change from the tutorial for ARMA 2 we need to make for ARMA 3? When using HC Tutorial for ARMA 2 do I still need to use?:

I did get everything in the ARMA 2 HC Tutorial working with my HC, except for DAC. DAC work when there is no HC enabled.

Using 1.38 I still can't get the linux headless client to connect on a linux dedicated server on the same subnet. The HC is instantly kicked with the "steam ticket check failed" message.

Server config has following related entries:

e: I even tried adding the public IP of the server to the headlessClient and localClient arrays, I just removed them in this post for privacy reasons.

I have the headless client successfully connected and working... at least until BattlEye kicks it. Without a working beclient.so from BattlEye (which let's get real will never happen, they can't find the time to reply to an e-mail), trying to run a headless client on a BattlEye enabled server will just have you running into a brick wall:

"vehicleManagerHC - 331 cached entities out of 359"
> You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Client not responding)

There's a very simple solution to this that I hope Bohemia implements... just making the HeadlessClient bypass BattlEye, at least for Linux, since BattlEye won't do anything about this within the next decade.

but i need to start it with my HC. The HC works fine and spawn other Units without problems. I try it with many different ways, but my HC didnt spawn from INF_fnc_infectedzone.

Maybe i have to write it with BIS_fnc_MP. But i didnt understand how to.

I anybody familiar with it? And give my some small help? I want to understand how. But i have no perfect English and everything is written in it, and my head is cooking now.

Yeah, so, easy fix: It's supposed to be headlessClients[]={}...

did this fix the issue?

I'm not sure if this was answered before, but I didn't really find anything. I'm trying to run a headless client on a Linux server. If I disable PBO signature verification, the headless client can join the server just fine.

However if I use "verifySignatures = 2;" the HC cannot connect anymore because some PBOs not being signed according to it's RPT file. But the bisign files are definitely there, and as a player I can join the server just fine with the same files.

I've got the same problem. I even tried to resign the .pbo files and add them, without success.

The pbo files are inside AllInArmaTerrainPack, as soon as I remove that, it works.

I noticed two slashes are the wrong way, could that have anything to do with it?

Linux server btw.

Why is headlessClients[]={ working while localClient[]={ dont work?

my community has been running A2-servers with HCs for a while now.

Trying to get our A3-server running with an HC, we came across the problem with server kicking the HC for being "without identity".

We worked our way through some potential fixes but non of them solved the issue for us.

Any sort of hint or advise would really make my day.

The server itself is started by TADST.
