Will this be in the game? [Suggestions]

Recommended Posts

Will these be in the final game or does nobody know yet. Anyway this could also be suggestions.

> Directional damage, for example you get shot in the arm or shoulder you drop your weapon. Get shot in the leg while running you fall and wont be able to run anymore after you bandaged it and you walk with a limp.

> V could also be used to climb obstacles that are at shoulder or head height if you, judging by the gear you are carrying you could even haul try to haul yourself up a building ledge that is higher than that.

> Dismemberment for example a guy gets shot with a high caliber they are not just going to go down like models with skins pasted over them but they can actually lose a limb which would mean you pass out.

> Falling animations, maybe even a roll when you fall from higher places to soften the blow.

> Certain ammunition ricochet of certain objects, i mean you could actually accidently hit something you didn't want to hit because of the bullet bouncing off.

It would also be really nice that when you die you get a certain effect similar to blacklight retribution where you see from which position you were shot and all kinds of info about which gun and at what distance etc.

Anyway i was just thinking of stuff and had to write this down =p

There's directional damage (always have been) but in alpha it just seems unfinished. In VBS2, which is ArmA's military training brother, when you are getting shot in a leg you can only walk with a limp as you suggest. In ArmA3 you also can only walk but only walk. My take is that it's unfinished.

It would be interesting if you could somehow implement PhysX ragdoll's into the animations, Kind of like how GTA IV did it when you would run into something or into someone and the physics would kick in and then blend out into an animation.

Kind of like the 0:15-0:36 part in this video,

Bullets already ricochet.

Dismemberment probably won't be in vanilla arma 3. But likely possible through mods due to physx.

Will there be a British forces expansion like in the previous Arma or at least the option to choose to play the game as British Soldiers rather than American, same missions just as the British Army with their vehicles and weapons.

Maybe the developers could make a British version of Arma (British Arma)

no, this game isn't about jingosim, it's about simulating a nato vs aggressor scenario. i doubt adding a bunch of particular nationalities is really going to improve on that aspect one bit.

They won't officially make dismemberment or movable rag dolls after death because then they'd have to release a separate version of the game for germany. Best you can hope for is maybe seeing it in mods

You must be new to the series...OFP/Arma was one of earliest games with this system

I remember back then (2001), a friend of mine told me there was a new game that you couldn't walk if shot in the leg, which was really big innovation at time compared to popular "health point". (like in CS)

that alone got me into OFP.

It's got to be a mod. and if it's not I will then attempt to... well... I don't know.

But yeah it'll probs be a mod. I'd be surprised if it wasn't Physics are crazy heh?

I knew ArmA II for a while, tried playing a downloaded one but it didn't feel very good for me. Eventually like a lot of people i bought it for DayZ but i've known about it a whole while before then. I think ArmA III finally hit the spot regarding to polishing and whatnot. Anyway like the other guy said those features were only in VBS2 and not in ArmA II? So that why i was wondering.

They weren't only in VBS2, read carefully. Walking with a limp is only in VBS2 atm.
