NoBlur

Recommended Posts

Hi there Defunkt,

Thanks for this mod. :)

I'm using anzins_noblur_2013-04-18_dev with this ArmA 3 Alpha dev version. Works great in 3rd person view. No rotational blur.

Just wondering, with this mod enabled, is it normal or expected to have blur when in 1st person view, turning around using optics?

Just tested with the current dev build and if it's correctly loaded rotational blur should be removed from 1st person (which is clearly not the case in your image). I'd double check your install, have a look in the Expansions menu to see if it shows as having been loaded.

EDIT

I tried using small caps for the mod folder

Still with blur on 1st person view

I copy the files inside the dta folder to the dta folder in the arma root folder. This because it also wasn't working for me when loaded as an addon.

asus.

try putting the "dta" file in a "addon" folder, inside the @anzins

If u look at the path of your other addons u will see, as you are missing one folder

steam/steamapps/common/arma3/@anzins/addons/dta

No, he has the files in the correct place, and it's obviously being loaded because it appears as such in his Expansions list, so I don't know why it's not working for him. I can't imagine you have another mod that's also trying to supercede DTA\bin.pbo but load order is the only thing I can suggest to try; make sure @anzins is the last item in your mod line.

Ok. Here is my load order. I'm using a modified AiA launch batch.

set DEFAULT_PARAMETERS=-cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -disableVON=1 -mod=@anzins;@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A3;@dfs_3rdperson

I will try to experiment on the order and see how it goes. Thank you very much for your replies. :)

I stand corrected.

That would be the one thing I enjoy about arma that really keeps me playing after all these years is that there is always something to learn! BTW This is a mod that I consider crucial or a "must have"!

@nivong

Thanks for reminding me of the root Dta folder.

@Defunkt

It's working now. Below is a sample screengrab I took while moving left to right. No more blur in 1st person view while using Katiba's secondary optics. Yeah!

http://s1.postimg.org/5d8gfcdsf/arma3_2013_04_20_07_19_21_65.jpg

I was updating the @anzins mod folder but forgot to delete the old files at the root ArmA 3 Dta folder. My fault. :o

My new AiA default parameters are

set DEFAULT_PARAMETERS=-cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -disableVON=1 -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A3;@dfs_3rdperson;@anzins

And no problem so far with NoBlur and Dfs_3rdperson.

Thanks all for your help. This addon is a must have! :)

Hope you haven't deleted BI's original bin.pbo, it wouldn't make any difference with the mod loaded because it supercedes the whole pbo, but it shouldn't be necessary. If you have, it'll likely be restored by Steam at the next update anyway.

I have a copy of the bin.pbo and bisign files. I'm not sure now if these are the ones from BI. Here are the hashes.

http://s23.postimg.org/k5bxor0hn/Dwm_2013_04_20_08_06_34_51.jpg

Without the bin.pbo and bisign files, I get this on launching the game even with the @anzins mod folder intact.

http://s16.postimg.org/d07rcw92d/Dwm_2013_04_20_08_01_25_97.jpg

Then after a few seconds, game terminates with this error

http://s13.postimg.org/to20npxgn/Dwm_2013_04_20_08_01_45_95.jpg

If I copy the files from your @anzins folder to the root Arma 3 Dta folder, I get no error on game launch. I believe these are your files.

http://s24.postimg.org/4asg14mdh/Dwm_2013_04_20_08_11_11_00.jpg

Will not having the original BI bin.pbo inside the root Dta folder pose ill effects in the future?

Well being refused to most multiplayer servers would be the worst of it. You shouldn't have to do what you're doing, it should (for me and most people) load as a mod, something else is wrong but I've no idea what that might be.

I also have no idea why it won't load as a mod on my machine.

I tried to experiment by moving the 'dta' folder from @anzins to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\Dta but still with blur on 1st person view.

http://s23.postimg.org/jnv0xhvzv/Dwm_2013_04_20_08_53_16_61.jpg

The bin.pbo and bisign file above are the original BI files. I launch AiA with this parameter

set DEFAULT_PARAMETERS=-cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -disableVON=1 -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A3;@dfs_3rdperson;@anzins

I don't play MP online so I guess its ok for now.

---------- Post added at 09:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:04 AM ----------

Here are some observations...

I made a desktop shortcut to arma3.exe then used this target line:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\arma3.exe" -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -mod=@anzins

As you will notice above, only @anzins mod folder (NoBlur) is used. Result: no blur in 3rd person view and 1st person view while on secondary optics.

So I guess something is acting up when @anzins is combined with these mods/addons. As to which particular mod, I have no idea.

set DEFAULT_PARAMETERS=-cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -disableVON=1 -mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA_A3;@dfs_3rdperson;@anzins

Yes, sorry, am only maintaining for the dev build now as I never know when the standard stream has been updated and it's a pain in the arse switching my install backwards and forwards to check. Besides, I figure you've got to be pretty keen to want to keep up to date with this so you should surely be keen enough to use the dev builds...

---------- Post added at 01:19 ---------- Previous post was at 01:13 ----------

Tell you what, I'll make an update for the standard stream now but you'll have to come in here at let me know whenever this needs doing. If so, you should do so whenever there's an update, not just when it causes an error. This mod supercedes more than just the PP FX and it needs to be re-released every time they change bin.pbo.

---------- Post added at 01:40 ---------- Previous post was at 01:19 ----------

For the latest standard build:

anzins_noblur_2013-04-21.zip

I've just downloaded the latest DEV build from the OP (2013-04-24) and am getting the Direct3D error. Does a previous version of the DEV mod work, and if so can you post a link? I have a copy of 2013-04-12 but I would have expected a newer version between the two.

I also experienced that 'Error compiling shader PSSpecularAlpha' after messing with the 'bin.pbo' file at root Dta folder. Annoying, I thought my videocard was busted.

Here's what I did to resolve the problem:

1. Open Steam then Go Online.

2. On the left side, right click on 'Arma 3 Alpha' then click 'Properties'

3. Click on 'Local Files' tab

4. Click 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'.

After it detects errors, it will re-acquire files then update corrupt ones, in my case, the 'bin.pbo' file.

I hope that helps. :)

No dice. Still gives me that shader compiler error.
