[SP/MP] Dynamic Whole Map ArmA3 Missions by SaOk

SaOK, have you left the Stratis mission behind?

Also, no more Arma 2 for you like ZUB or any newer A2 missions/camps?

Focusing on WLA, but I plan to update WLS too at some point. Most likely no return to A2, but through mods (AiA) in A3 I will final tweak the old missions and campaign conversions to work in A3. And maybe even do some new missions for Chernarus that way. I am very interested to see how the old A2 content comes to A3 when BIS release it for free editing. Also if the DayZ standalone Chernarus can be played in A3 when released. I will definitely create mission(s) for it. Nothing beats the forests in Chernarus. ;)

Time is the biggest problem, but once I get the dynamic mission concept in proper state in WLA (which currently works very smooth already). It will be easy to copy paste it for different maps and just create new tasks/story and cinema over that. Would be dream (for me), to have it working with the new Chernarus and remade the Zub with it. Or do even more guerrila type mission.

Wow! Even more missions and maps coming? You are amazing SaOK! Your missions will keep me entertained for years. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication! This world has some really creative people in it, and you're one of them.

Thanks, :) another mission would be possible during spring maybe, but still a lot to do with WLA.

Released new SP version 1.2 of WLA (steam, dropbox). All civ tasks, factories (and other areas to capture) and ambient battles have now task listed in briefing, with waypoint, for more clear approach. You can place mortars in guardposts, objects have default direction releated to player, AI trucks bringing patrols dont dissapear instantly anymore (bug appeared few weeks ago), civilian escort task is improved, player may respawn in building, lowered AI skills, ambient battles have more randomness in forces/extra support and much other small tweaks/fixes.

Converting Zub for possible DayZ Chernarus is definitely in my mind. :) I would probably recreate it mostly, copy-pasteing WLA and then use the old cutscenes and some of the tasks with improvements. Or just create Zub 2. ;)

Been sucked in by the newer versions of WLA, cant wait to see that treatment passed onto WLS. The woodland fighting on Stratis is awesome, (much better that Altis IMO) Keep up the good work SaOk!

I was wondering if there is a option window for this map to set view distance and grass on/off I cant find it in game online for the co-op map

Thanks, :) you can set grass of in WLS coop, but not yet in WLA coop.

Reuploaded the latest WLA SP version (steam, dropbox). Improved respawning (after shooting own side, it should reset you back as group leader), construction system, factory detection, addon halogen lamps (to build), passed time shows right when fast-traveling, some other tweaks/fixes

Reuploaded the WLA SP version (steam, dropbox). Custom keys are created in better way now, I hope it would also fix slow dialog issue some players are getting after playing many hours. 30sec reset is also gone now -> custom keys work instantly when resuming the mission. Thanks kju for advices. :)

New WLA SP Version 1.3 is here (dropbox, steam, soon in other places too). Included the new AFF vehicles (can be seen if using DEV-version, also in reqular game version when it gets the next patch), called air support work more stable, spend time on fast travel should display right (hours displayed wrong), random chopper used in insertion, some other tweaks.

I played the latest version yesterday and noticed one major bug that made it quite annoying to play. With respawn enabled, the AI teammates would no longer obey orders and would get stuck following a path. What I mean is, I would die and then respawn. Some of my AI team would be with me at the spawn location. However, the AI would be walking away from me in a continuous path and no matter what I did, they would stay moving along that path. I tried the "unstuck AI" radio command, which only seems to work if they are stuck in a building or something. Often times I would just have to delete that unit and buy a new one. However, the next time I would die and respawn, they would do the same thing. I hope that makes sense to you. I never had this AI glitch in the previous versions of this mission. I have not tried the latest version of the mission with the respawn disabled, however I do believe it is the culprit behind the glitch.

I love the respawn feature since I forget to save often, however it kind of sucks that it glitches the AI.

That is random game AI issue, but may try find tricks to prevent it. Basic script commands dont have effect on that, but will try next if it would help to move all team-mates to own groups and then back to player's group.

Started a new game and the first few deaths, the AI were fine, but then it started glitching out again. I noticed something. If I was in combat and died, the AI would glitch. But after respawning and then waiting until the AI was no longer in combat mode, they would start responding to my commands

Alright cool. Sounds to me like it is an unavoidable thing and needs a workaround. Hope you can figure it out.

New WLA SP version 1.31 is here (steam, dropbox). Much optimizations (near all 40 remaining scripts compiled to run faster) and tweaks in defend tasks (less enemy, come from more far - player have more time to prepare). Other tweaks (spawning distances made bigger for enemy vehicles).

Also tried to prevent random AI team-member not responding issue, by turning his AI off and on, switching his team to own and back to player. But issue still happens sometimes, not sure if less. I will clone the team-mates in upcoming mission version to fix the issue.

When ever I try to start this missions now, it will not start and the loading sat view gets like a blue tint and refuses to load the missio. i deleted it reinstalled same result. Not sure whats going on but I think it's a workshop error.

BUG???

I find the resistence camp, talk with guy, have assigned new mission and PIF...i have teletrasported in another location........

Have you updated the game and checked that the game files are not broken? Mission should work normally, but I will check to launch it with the workshop.

With respawning on, you get teleported with white screen if getting killed. Sometimes it happens with very little info.

no..no...i don't die....after talk with the guy in the town "x" i, and my team, have teletrasported in town "Y"....

And yes, this version is download with Steam workshop....First installation....Now i tried to restart mission ...

After meeting the resistance contact, there is cutscene in another village. I may improve that part in future. Also the later another teleport to cutscene.

Yes on the dev build, I actually went through and unsubscribed to all missions and checked all aram 3 files in steam. Everything is good. It seems to only happen on your mission

Have to add that this is one of the best missions/scenarios/mods for any game ever released!

One question though - I've setup base camp inside a factory. I can build structures (Shift+c) but cannot order any units as the shift-menu doesn't com up. Is this correct?
