Leopardi 0 Posted March 5, 2013 (edited) FX-8350 absolutely destroys the 3570k. The video description has the download links, anyone here with a FX cpu able to try it out and post results? Edited March 5, 2013 by Leopardi
kklownboy 43 Posted March 5, 2013 lol. really you fell for that? the hotfixes are over a year old, hope everybody on BD has already did that. But hey if you OC your BD to 5ghz your doing it right. And to test CPUs at 1400p and 1080p isnt how you do that, along with all the mods, and then its SkyRim... Just look up AMD hotfix, weed thru the stupid fan boys and see the 10%~ average gain. There will be corner cases... Here ss the real deal; http://blogs.amd.com/play/2012/01/11/early-results-achieved-with-amd-fx-processor-using-windows%C2%AE-7-scheduler-update/ If you have a AMD CPU BD, use the Betas and set your Core count and thread count. chrisb 196 Posted March 6, 2013 Only going from what I have seen, one of the group members I play A2 with has a FX8320 and that is a real mover performance wise. A2 is no problem whatsoever, he’s running a 7series card with it, not sure which, probably 7970. So the FX8350 ;). If I were to buy either of the two you mentioned now, it would be the FX8350. I debated it when I got my A3 pc (i7), it was almost half, well above a third, cheaper than the price I paid at the time. The fx8320 & 8350 will come into there own a little later in life, as they say.. No, its not double the fps of an i5, that’s silly, but it’s a runner for sure, I would say, certainly against the i5’s now.. I think they are suited, or are going to be suited for A3 too. I have just put a DDE A3 Alpha onto my A2 pc while I wait for a hard copy ‘SE’ version for my A3 pc. The A2 pc (in my sig) is an older Athlon II x 4 640, and its running A3 on highish settings, see the Arma 3 forum, I put some pics on there. 40+fps in town and 55+ open area, without putting any effort into my own set-up, which should give me some more fps. Its going to be a really well optimised game A3 by the end of these first steps. Should mention my A2 pc is a gaming pc, just for A2, thats it, so may make a difference against a pc full of everyday stuff.. There is no definitive brand at the top end, game wise, for me anyway. The two main brands will do the job, if using them as a gaming pc.. I have spent a good bit on an i7, seeing this today with my older Athlon, in hindsight, the FX8350 would have been a good buy, I think… Would have saved a lot of money in the process, as is life..:( There again I'm not complaining, I like either intel or amd, so looking forward to getting my i7 going...:p I would also be really interested to see a test of the 8350 for A2 & A3, I will see if he will put one on, although he's not a member here.. kklownboy 43 Posted March 6, 2013 I am not bagging on the AMD CPU, just the review. More than not, its not a big deal between the two brands. And thnx to Leopardi for the announcement for the hotfixes. Some AMD owners might not have known.
