What's the first thing you're going to do on Alpha?

Run about to get a feel for the new, more smooth movement. Then jump in a heli and explore the island. Cannot wait! :D

Perhaps, depending on the server constraints, we should all have a sort of get together to test things and have fun like racing, weapon testing, some swimming, watching the sun set, sit by a fire composed of the losers vehicle at night, attach to some bleachers to the side of a car and ride on it..

testing all new features. Diving, physx at driving, ragdoll, flying choppahs, check on new animations. Ofcourse all that with a buddy in editor coop.

I will live on the island as an civilian. Have a civilian car and house and go out for some trips now an then. One day at the beach, another to go hiking i the mountains, maybe a bike trip.

All this with only the civilian and animals module running.

with that rig?

Creating a testmission with all kind of stuff and starting up a server to test everything out with my m**edit** dudes :)

1) Mess with the "Set-Up". See if I can squeeze as much power as possible out of my CPU / GPU / RAM - while still having a decent Frame Rate.

2) Get in the Editor > create a tank > place it next to a building > then fire away..... I'm checking out the destruction.

3) Go to night mode and check out the new HDR.

4 ) Check out ragdoll effect.

5) Take a swim

6) Fly a chopper

7) Target Practice with the new weapons.

8) Basic Training

Explain to me what UAZ you will test it on.

You are right! I mean a 4wheel drive, military car. I mean UAZ-like car.

Explore Stratis via air.

Go diving with the fishies.

Editor.

Phyics.

See how much the AI lags if you place down lots of them.

I think before I go blowing up the wildlife with satchels I'll push my PC to the point just before it explodes to see how well I can play it.

Basic training, get a feel for it all.

Then, I'm going to do some Armory stuff (assuming that's intact).

Finally, some multiplayer.

graphics settings and performance to see how well the game is currently playable and then I want to test the controls.

I'm going to crank the visual settings to max (view distance to 4000-5000m) and look for a MP game. :cool:

1. max everything and decrease until i find a good compromise with FPS

2. do the tutorials

3. check out underwater diving

4. try to kill the new AI

As always I'll will start the first SP mission, map my keys properly while playing it, tweak the graphical options to get a decent framerate. I'll then have fun with the editor.

Test out something i have always wondered about since the first time they announced the underwater environment.

2. Enter the editor, place a player unit, and an enemy unit called unit1, then write an init script:

sleep 5;
unit1 setVelocity [0, 0, 100];
sleep 1;
unit1 setVelocity [0, 0, -1000];
sleep 0.05;
unit1 setDamage 1;

Are you sure you'll need the setDammage line at the end? ;)

if its possible to create a dedicated server with the alpha, then I stresstest the complete game. I simulate 50players on a server with many many EnemyAI. That was a big problem from Arma2, that you can run big missions without FPS-Drops like hell; client and server side.
