CaRRiED 1 Posted February 11, 2013 So I was trying to change something in the game files and couldn't find what I was looking for. So I said forget it and went to play but somehow I messed something up when I go to play mutiplayer (wasteland) it will not let me join a game it says "You cannot play/edit this mission it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted. Chernarus, caweapons_ammoboxes, CAWater, cawater2_fishing-boat." When I went to my expansions I noticed all my maps and my sound mods were missing. But when I look at the files they are still there so i have no idea what is going on. If you guys could help me out that would be great im new to PC gaming and Arma 2 is pretty much the only game I play.

There is no legitimate reason to be changing something in the core game files, so I'm not even going to ask what the hell you were doing. From the error message, it looks like you've either deleted some files or moved them into the wrong place. Difficult to say exactly without having access to your computer. Long story short: you'll probably need to reinstall the game.
CaRRiED 1 Posted February 13, 2013 I was trying to do the input lag fix GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1 I couldn't find it so I ran arma2oa.cfg changed it then saved. So now my background has changed So when I launch the game from steam that is what I get ^^ But if I launch it from _runA2CO my extra maps are there but my JSRS does not show up. Also I don't know what happened but my server browser works now? Before it didn't want to show me all the severs I would have to refresh multiple times to find a sever I was just playing in and it only shown maybe 5 or 10 servers with players in them. Now the server browser is full also it now shows dayz before it never did.
Gunter Severloh 4031 Posted February 13, 2013 You should have utes, Chernarus, and takistan if you have Arma2Co running correctly, but in the singleplayer and then editor it will list all the maps you actually have. As said you may want to reinstall.
CaRRiED 1 Posted February 13, 2013 I have reinstalled twice.
Harzach 2516 Posted February 13, 2013 Those "test" expansions are likely the cause, I'd bet. Uncheck/load without them (or find those files and move them somewhere else) then see if everything works.
Ezcoo 47 Posted February 13, 2013 You could try to delete 2 folders in your user files directory, ArmA 2 and Arma 2 Other Profiles. If you have any missions etc. stuff saved and you want to back them up, copy the mission files from the folders before deleting. After you've done that, try to launch the game again. If it doesn't fix the issue, reinstall the game again. If I remember right, those folders containing the config files don't get deleted when the game is uninstalled, and e.g. the Arma2.cfg and Arma2OA.cfg in Arma 2 folder can contain startup definitions that can mess up the game just like that. babyloncome 3 Posted February 13, 2013 You are missing the core Arma2 files, you have Arrowhead but not A2 - check to ensure these files are actually installed including the arma2.exe in the directory root. If they are present then it looks like your reg might be messed up. Also, if they are present launch via the arma2.exe to see if Arma2 will actually launch... Also - are you disc or steam?
