Screenl Glitch

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm having a screen glitch, that causes a line to run down my sceen at about 1/3 from the left.

Everything right of the line runs fine, but everything left of the line is slightly laggy.

Running a HP Envy with Radeon 7850HD, with all the graphics allowed to be set by the game though my Catalyst Control. Also, running the game on High Performance through my Catalyst control.

I've tried overriding the game through the Catalyst control, with no avail.

The only success I've had with getting rid of the glitch is to run the game at Power Save mode through my Catalyst Control center. However, when I do that, my onboard card struggles to run the game.

Any recommendations?

this is a good fix, but why the hell won't the game run without issues in full screen? I get to polizied screens when in full screen mode, yet have alll the latest driveds and firmware updates installed, PC should be powerfull enough to run this game without an issue.

In the old days games (operation flash point for example) were released without the need for patching, short of adding new features or to add support to new hardware tech not around at the time of release, but these days most games are releases are governed by the publisher and never get the true care they need to make sure they work well upon release date.

to help fix these issues, here's my DirectX readout. :)

I get to polizied screens when in full screen mode, yet have alll the latest driveds and firmware updates installed, PC should be powerfull enough to run this game without an issue.

I'm always willing to learn a new cuss word. What makes a screen "polizied?"

@MikeAP

The Envy is a laptop - so your running off of a video chip that is integrated. This means that system memory is being shared for video memory. You are not ever going to get good gaming performence with a laptop that does this if the game requires significant graphix horsepower. What you are seeing is the results of stressing the video side to hard. Going to windowed mode lessens the burden on the video system. The only way your going to get the game to run well in full screen mode is turn the settings down low. Probably not what your wanting to do, but there it is.

@Dragofire,

I am running a single 6800 card and see no issues. It could be one of 2 things... either your using multiple monitors (a no no with CCGM) or it is taking issue linked cards. Try temporarily disabling one of the cards and running the game. If it is the multiple monitor issue - well you now know you can't do that.
