It's not vandalism, it's me updating it. :p

Can't the account database be tied into the forum one so we use one login for both?

Yes with some restriction like you can only update the wiki once youve had x amount of posts in the mission editing/configs scripts forum

Can you make a devheaven issue tracker page for "request for wiki updates", and those who have access to make such changes can work off of that? This way we can track those which people think need updated, and supply examples?

Maybe this is to much work for the ones who have access to editing the wiki?

I would help as well, but alas I was surprised that the sign-ons are not shared across the forums and the wiki.

Good idea. I'd be happy to make updates (that I understood and could confirm their veracity) on behalf of other users.

This sounds like a great suggestion as it prevents completely new people to edit stuff, and it'll cut down on vandalism (since nobody will bother with posting 50 or so relevant posts in the editing forum just to vandalize the biki afterwards). But at the same time Tankbuster's suggestion sounds a bit risky since if Tankbuster is registered on the BIKI and his account gets hacked it's kinda screwed over.

I wouldn't hand over my password - I'd be making wiki entries and edits on the behalf of other users.

Yes, but I'm talking about specific hacking attempts by unregistered users. Not that I think it's worth the effort, but it's certainly possible.

Seriously??

What? :(

I'm just thinking outside the box here :P

As I mentioned previously it's not really worth the effort nor do I think anybody would go that way just to vandalize a wiki for a game, but it's a possibility.

Thinking outside the box is good, but...

many of these members have had editing rights of the wiki for x amount of years, and I don't believe we've had any wiki hackers yet...

Well I don't know the situation with the wiki actually, so that struck my thought. This was just based off of Tankbusters idea to synchronize the BI Forum account with the BIKI account.

I see where you're coming from. I think it's best to keep the editing rights of the wiki to a select few. Which as Dwarden has confirmed, it's locked down as of now. I'm happy with that, as long as those who have the access don't mind the work

On the Wiki, in a few commnds there is an example. However most commands do not have an example.

The current Wiki is just fine as it is. Each command just needs one or 2 real life examples. With these examples people can mostly work how to complete our specific task.

Yeah if the wiki registration opens back up, the wiki can be expanded with content & updated with viable examples.

As long as the code is commented I can usually decypher some of the scripts, but some of those commands get pretty complicated for a begginer noob scripter like me. This is great idea.
