ARMA2 Oper Arrowhead - frequently switches out of game to desktop on mouse input

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm a new user to the forums and a pretty new player of ARMA2/Combined Operations/Operation Arrowhead.

I've searched the forums but not having much luck finding a match for this.

Has anybody else seen a problem with the game frequently "switching" you back to the desktop as if you had Alt-TAB'd or moved the mouse outside of the window into the other monitor and clicked something?

It seems to happen mostly on mouse movement input, ie, panning my mouse to rotate around etc. I am seeing this happen very frequently and it's getting to be pretty annoying, I'm constantly having to re-select the game to get back in.

I imagine some information would be in order:

Running the game at 1600x900 "3D resolution" - the monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080 but I get a slight fps boost running it with slightly lower resolution --but AFAIK I'm playing in full-screen mode, not windowed. I do have dual display, the 2nd monitor is a 4:3 aspect older 19" I just use to view mumble, server cpu load, etc.

ARMA 2 Combined Operations, ie, ARMA 2 + ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead. ARMA2 patch version is 95248. oktane's noblur mod has been added, thats pretty much it.

Nvidia GTX 680 (EVGA GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB), running latest beta (310.54) drivers

Razer Mamba (original Mamba), "latest" firmware and driver -- drivers haven't been updated recently anyway

Windows 7 x64, SP1 + updates pretty recently (fully updated in last month or so)

Intel Q9650 (Yorkfield Core 2 Quad, 3GHz 12MB Cache, not O/C'd), 8GB RAM

Not sure what other info would be needed but I'll gladly provide whatever anyone needs. I have never seen this problem with other games (War Z, CS:S, CS:GO, TF2, L4D, others).

Thanks in advance for any advice.

thanks,

Tackdriver

i had this once, but it affecting all applications not just arma2. It's called losing focus on my win7.

Found the culprit is a software that forcing everything to switch to it since it wants attention. Finding it is hard, you need to stop the apps 1 by 1 to find which is the culprit.

in my case, its the wifi software that i install is what causing it. uninstall it and it fix my issue.

Thanks for the reply gunso -- I was thinking about that as a possibility also. I'll run through and see what I can find.
