Man, the bands playing in the park across the river are LOUD...I can hear them from here. I'll have to pop outside when it gets dark and watch the fireworks. I just wish we could buy decent fireworks in BC

Die Alive 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Fireworks are only fun when I do them dangerously. Throw a few into a campfire and watch the sparks fly! Or better yet, replace fireworks with shot gun shells, just toss 'em in and hit the dirt! As for Canada day being boring. Its just my opinion is that Cnanada day is like a church picnic, execpt we replace Jesus with a Canadian flag. Too many families waving Canadian flags, not enough drunks on the street. Yell, not even a riot or anything. Now St. Patricks day, now that's a hell lot better than Canada day, 400 000 people watching a parade drunk, puking in the gutters, pissing into mailboxes, bar fights, drunk drivers on the side of the highway pissing onto the roadway, it makes Canada day look really really lame. -=Die Alive=-
zverushka 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Well, if you put it that way, I LIKE ST. PATRCKS DAY!
cybrid 0 Posted July 2, 2002 I'll have to agree with die alive, the only good thing about Canada is people blowing their limbs off with fireworks> I wanna get wasted and crawl around on the streets trudging through my own vomit. Well ok thats disgusting
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 2, 2002 May I contribute too? Canada is the greatest killer of seals in the world. In fact the hunt is subsidised!

A baby seal walks into a bar. The bartenders asks what he'll have. "Anything but a Canadian Club!" In case you didn't know, Canadian Club is a whiskey -=Die Alive=-
FetishFool 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Canadian-Quebecois seperatists were burning the flag yesterday and today. Like, how stupid is that? If they want to protest against Canada, then fine. But burning the flag will get them no where except to the hospital to remove a big Canadian boot out of their asses. In America, you'd get shot for burning and de-facing a US flag. You'd probably get arrested for burning any national flag, US or not.
Warin 0 Posted July 2, 2002 You might get shot, but as of yet, burning the flag in the US (while sort of stupid considering how patriotic some americans are! is still speach protected by the constitution... so you wouldnt get arrested. Beat up, probably. Good joke, Die Alive. I happen to like Canada Day (even if it is over now ). It's one of the few times where everyone feels a little patriotic towards this wonderful country we live in.
FetishFool 0 Posted July 2, 2002 I'm pretty sure that defacing the US flag on US soil will land you in prison in the US. (:) I said "US" three times in one sentence )

FetishFool 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Flag Burning Rant God damn it. If the US, of all countries, doesn't make flag burning illegal then we're all going down in flames.
Tovarish 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Well, I was at Pairlament last night and it was great, with the exception of when David Usher promised to play Ozzie...he did....kind of....the damn bastard teased us all by playing the music to Crazy Train but singing the lyrics of that "I'm Coming out so you better get the party started" crap . I did enjoy when they played Ressurection though....old school Moist. And the chick who played guitar was damn hot. Oh well. The Arrogant Worms hosted the show! They rule! *sings* It's cool to be Canadian....It's not because we're better, it's just that we're less worse!
EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Why would the U.S. make flag burning illegal? The United States values civil liberties dearly, one of which is freedom of speech, which is included in the 1st amendment to the Constitution. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Flag burning is protected under that amendment. If congress ma de a law banning flag burning, they are basically saying that the 1st amendment only applies when they want it to. So then what's next? How long until the country becomes the tyrannical state it escaped over 200 years ago? People who burn flags in protest of certain legislature, especially that dealing with freedom of speech, are actually showing a great deal of respect to the flag. Because by burning the flag, they are exercising that freedom.
