Delta Hawk 1829 Posted January 30, 2013 Hey, just wanted to show some progress. Made 4dr M998 HMMWVs and desert variants. I started working on the LODs and that is what has taken up most of my time. I know, "blah blah blah, they're not dirty enough." So there's two base variants, the 2dr M998 and the 4dr M998, with woodland and desert version, deep ford snorkel kits and no kits with 3 different tarp configurations, so that's 24 M998 HMMWVs. Next on the agenda is the M1025s. However I REALLY need to know how to change the water fording deapth of vehicles. This is important since Marines and Sailors drive through the ocean with their HMMWVs. I also wanted to show my Devil Dogs rockin the M7 bayonets and IFAKs. Yes I know, "blah blah blah, they're not dirty enough." What's taking most of the time is the slow process of weathering the BDUs to show wear, tear and a weeks worth of casual field filth. I actually do have a release date planned but more than likely it's going to get pushed back a couple of months cause I have a project that's going to take priority since it's a paid gig and I need money. Enjoy! https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2020.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2019.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2018.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2017.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2016.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2021.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2022.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2023.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2024.jpg https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28808032/pictures/U.S.%20Military%20Mod%20Preview%2025.jpg

Laqueesha 474 Posted January 30, 2013 Amazing as always! Lovin' that button-residue on the trouser pocket flap. Little things like that make all the difference.

Laqueesha 474 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) I like how you put a DoN emblem on the icon for the HM in this pic. Nice touch! ;) Edited January 30, 2013 by Laqueesha

Landmine 10 Posted February 4, 2013 These models are absolutely beautiful! I was just thinking when would someone get us back to the good ol' BDUs, DCU, and M16/M4s without a Coca-Cola machine attachment! Keep up the good work buddy!

Laqueesha 474 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Found this photo of a U.S. Army soldier from June 2001 wearing experimental Land Warrior gear. What struck me about this photo was that a lot of the gear was way ahead of its time. I was surprised that he had an M4 with foregrip and BUIS and Aimpoint, modern CamelBak, IBA/OTV, FLC vest, what appears to be an AN/PEQ-2, and an ACH/MICH helmet of all things, which I didn't even knew existed all the way back in 2001. Anyway, I thought it might be of some interest to you guys. As I said before, Wikimedia Commons is a great source of reference photographs from way back in the old days. Regards; cheers! :) Edited February 7, 2013 by Laqueesha
lavbo0321 5 Posted February 5, 2013 Amazing as always! Lovin' that button-residue on the trouser pocket flap. Little things like that make all the difference. That is exaclty what I was going to say. Those are my era of uniforms and I can attest, I still have a few pair around the house and that is exactly what they look like. AMAZING WORK!!!!

Delta Hawk 1829 Posted February 6, 2013 shut up and take my money!! I'd like to take your money Pellejones, but the gig is good and I've already started. Plus that would be kind of hypocritical for me to ask for "donations" when there's other addons makers that do the same stuff. Regards; cheers! :) All that stuff was avialable at the end of the 90s, but very few soldiers got to use it because of supply issues. When American troops first entered Afghanistan, alot of them still wore the PASGT vest because there wasn't enough IBAs to go around. I would really like to see the first 7th Rangers that went into Afghanistan though. Thank you guys for noticing all the little details I put into these addons. WA Lancer 94 Posted February 6, 2013 Do you have any intentions on adding a long range LOD for the head and face that has Camouflage on it? What I mean is the long range LODs usually have normal unpainted faces even when you have a custom cammo face. Those long range LODs make the soldiers easy to pick out from any background. Those long range LODs make the soldiers easy to pick out from any background. From memory (i don't have a file around to double check) Faces are all done on BISs side, model wise, you build the model of the unit and then align the helmet around the head and the face appears when you load it in game (or bulldozer). TL;DR: i don't think you can change the face LODs, only the textures (which doesn't help the issue you speak of) Edit: What i'm trying to describe... Arma puts the face in it self. I belive the main issue with Cam faces is that they're only done on the Lowest LOD rather than on all of them and use hiddenSelectionsTextures, rather than having to config all of them individually to a different model. I would really like to see the first 7th Rangers that went into Afghanistan though. Here's a pic of some U.S. Marines in Afghanistan in November 2001. They appear to have DCUs, M81 IBAs with PASGT helmets (cammie netting too), FLC vests, and M16A2s with AN/PEQ boxes. Also, here's a pic of a U.S. Marine with an IBA and M82 rifle in February 2001, and a U.S. Marine firing off a Mk19 in September 2000. I was intruiged by the FLC vest; when did those start getting issued out? Best of luck, Laqueesha. ;) Edited February 17, 2013 by Laqueesha
wld427 1705 Posted February 7, 2013 Jeebus. These look great. It has me sitting around going thru all my old photographs teary eyed. The entire MOLLE system started showing up in units late 2000. although i did not get my first IBA until 2002 in prep to go to afghanistan. At that time they were issued by unit supply and most lower level usnits still uses PASGT vest. They were not part of the MOLLE until RFI for the ACU uniform. (at least tthat was my experience int he 101st airborne). My personal preference thogh was to wear alice suspenders with my gear over top of my IBA. It made the extra weight much easier to shed in an emergency.
