Delta Hawk

80s, 90s, early 2000 US Military

Recommended Posts

If you want to beta test, please shoot me a pm with references and projects you tested.

A little update, I corrected my buttpack making it era correct. I also made a gas mask carrier. Next is the med pack, then LODs.

Is there any other way of hiding stuff? Couldn't I make the gear proxys and use the hidden selection animation on the proxy which should eliminate the model using up polys and textures for hidden stuff???

Obviously I'm making more than just tires...

Yes, I know. I haven't made the chocolate chip flak cover yet. That isn't on the top of my list but I will make one later.

Looking good, but shouldn't they be wearing full colour flags on the right shoulder?

There's only two vehicles i know use Wrangler Mt's and AFAIK the US Army never used Jeep Wrangers :P

That and the Rims give it away :D

I would take the opacity down on your stitch details for the desert versions. They're to strong on the light coloured fabric now.

Agreed. I'll adjust it.

I just threw a patch texture on them but yeah it should have the flag patch on.

I am making HMMWVs. More info will come with progress.

Looks sweet! Are you going to make it modular so everybody can use what they want to only and is it going to be ace2 compatible?

PS these textures are realy nice. Looks even better than default bis textures.

Can you please give me some hmmvs that do this^

Fyi, Those are GMV's (Ground Mobility Vehicles, Humvee with chassis and suspension upgrade/strengthening and a tray in the back that's either covered or open.)

i think this is more like what you want.

There was photo's floating around of M134 mounted GMV's but i can't seem to find them anymore, just that video and the one you posted

Kind of the wrong time period gents. let the guy work.

"Early 2000's" *shrugs* close enough, they're all wearing BDU's :P

Also, less about the footage of the fighting and more about the HMMWV's seen in such footage we're talking about...

Yes, i'll take them all!!!

On another note, the GMVs in vanilla ARMA/ACE are so outdated. The fire-power that are attached to those things is negated by the lack of armor. Try rolling around an urban environment in those things and have fun enjoying your new wounds.

There's countless photos of guys using these in the early days of Iraq/Afghanistan and techincally we are still in the early 2000s if you think about it ;)

May I also suggest:

There is someone who made a DPV already but you can't download it anymore and if i remember it wasn't too great quality wise.

Yea emery, he didn't see eye-to-eye with people on copyright laws, such as BI Simulations... they found content in his models from VBS and so he's banned on pretty much every arma file hosting site aslong with his content, don't worry though, the thing was terrible, prone to flipping, auto rearmed, strange acceleration and a pretty basic model.

How does this look?

Do not expect me to get US Army patches and insignias right.

I very much want this addon to be modular, however I am not a scripter.

As for the idea of HMMWVs, since these units are leaning to the realistic, general image of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s it would be safe to assume similar with the HMMWVs, so no joy for M134s or HMMWVs globbed with so much mud a 1stSgt would loose his f'ing mind and schedule a company hike late friday evening followed by a monday class a inspection.

Before anyone says it, if you get "Server not found", copy paste it to your browser.

Looks good, Kinda wondering what's going on with the skin colour between the face and hands O_o.

as noted before the stitching looks kinda dark as if someones rubbed charcoal along the edges.

I was thinking the cam is a little too light but i've put that down to all the photos i have either being colour graded or degrading over time as they all have a more yellow tinge.

the flag placement looks about right so no problem i can see there.

Is the backpack modeled on or is it a wearable pack you can take off?

Other than that looks good.

I think it looks abit too washed out and too white at the moment, almost like a washed out uniform that you just got out of the wash, not a washed out uniform that's being worn and abit dirty etc.

I did this example of a tone that I think fits the 'armaverse' ok.

Your project though and it's all looking good man. Nice work.

Well it was worth a shot a guy can dream right, but wait you didn't rule out a DPV yet did you?:p

BTW Sabre you are a legend at texture that looks pristine.

I think both look fine, I'm not sure if there was a period of time where the DCU was a bit lighter/darker as you can find evidence of both. I guess it's really up to what you think looks better.

Here's some examples of both a lighter version as you have and some as Sabre posted.

I agree about the brightness. Even for clean desert BDUs they're too bright. I notice this when I made the picture cause for a second I thought "well that camouflage doesn't work well, it's too bri...damnit."

I think I'm going to stick with the stitching detail for now. I might redo it later, but I have more important things to work on.

I haven't fix the hands. I need the instructions on how to do the hands.

The ALICE is a pack. And guess what! Realistic bag space with 40 slots, 30 with PRC119!

This is the list of allegedly planned HMMWVs. Please no request. I'm not being paid to do this so I'm not going to go the COD "cool" route. And all this is depended on someone making weapons and weapon systems for these units and vehicles.

ARMY/MARINE/NAVY WOODLAND/DESERT

TRUCK, UTILITY: CARGO/TROOP CARRIER, 1-1/4 TON, M998, SOFTTOP NONE/HALF/FULL, HELMET, 2/4 DOOR

TRUCK, UTILITY: S250 SHELTER CARRIER, M1037, TOOL SHED

TRUCK, AMBULANCE, 4-LITTER, ARMORED, M997

TRUCK, UTILITY: ARMAMENT CARRIER, ARMORED, 1-1/4 TON, M1025, M60, M240, M2, MK19

TRUCK, UTILITY: TOW CARRIER, ARMORED, 1-1/4 TON, M966

SL-3 COMPLETE, TOWBAR, WATER CAN, GAS CAN

Fair enough, it seems with a darker version as how sabre's edited the darker stitching it adds little more realism for dirty uniforms.

Excellent!

One small request though, if you could make another optional config with

ACE_PackSize = (Cubic cetimeters in a integer),
ACE_Size = (Cubic cetimeters in a integer again (i think)
and ACE_Weight = (Floating number in kilograms)

to the cfgweapons in the rucks config with a class reference to ACE_Rucksack that would be awesome (I haven't actually tried this so i don't know if it will work/conflict but it shouldn't) Referance for the rucks)

that should cover ACE compatibility in case anyone ever asks :)

Even without the modern armored up version (like the FRAG kits.) and the other variants it sounds awesome, i guess there already is those variants out there while we're missing the classic humvee's.
