gameTypes for Description.ext

Recommended Posts

Currently afaik there is only a small list of 'gameTypes' you can use in your Description.ext.

class Header

{

gameType = Hold;

minPlayers = 2;

maxPlayers = 100;

};

gameType can be one of following

DM - Death Match

CTF - Capture the Flag

FF - Flag Fight

Coop -Cooperative Mission

Team - Team Mission

Scont - Sector Control

Hold - Hold Location

Unknown - Unknown - is used when no class header is defined.

My question is has number of game types in this list been increased? or can we now enter any abbreviation?... I ask because in the GameSpy browser I see game types such as PRAA (project reality), DOM (domination).

If it is a set list could you add these...

Traditional / more common game modes.

A&D - Attack and Defend

AAS - Advance and Secure

C&H - Capture and Hold

CTF - Capture the Flag

CTI - Conquer the Island (Warfare)

CO - Cooperative (only AI opponents)

DM - Death Match

FF - Flag Fight

RPG - Role Playing Game

SC - Sector Control

TDM - Team Death Match

TvT - Team vs. Team (2 or more opposing teams in an objective based Co-op setting)

Exotic / less common game modes.

ATF - Advance the Flag (teams advancing and knocking back flags)

CTB - Capture the Base

DYN - Dynamic Mission (fully configurable mode for both CO & PvP ie. VTS, MSO, Zombie Sandbox etc)

E&E - Escape & Evasion

MISC - Miscellaneous (genres not fitting any category)

OBJ - Objective (Co-op style and/or objectives with PvP element, ie. Insurgency)
