It was the plan to have a closer look at the weapons available and the specific unit loadouts very soon so stay tuned for that. Now that most less stuf needs to be imported and fine tunes there is more to to have a look at what we gathered, what its called and how it is textured. So please make a list of items that need to be looked at before version 1.00 is released to the world. Any advice is welcome!

-Version 1.00 is getting closer and closer, just a few more months and it should be ready for testing.

Also not a single Dutch Speaking Voice actor has offered his voice! Is there no one out there brave enough to make a Dutch voice heard by more then 10.000+ fans?

Great!, I’ve already started working on the config and trying to find a decent microphone, unless you already have one? It’s quite a bit of words but it can be done in a few hours i hope / per voice. Would you happen to have some people in your neighborhood that would also like to lend their voice just let me know! Then I will take care of the after mixing and resampling etc. and add it before DAF version 1.00 sees the daylight.

i have a decent mic, use it for steam all the time, i make a few tests soon.

ó yeah February, i keep forgetting that :) I changed it, thanks!

Also I made a dubbing voice example pack. That has 3 voice folders packed inside:

Male01NL <BIS_EN voice01> English voices, so you can listen to it (example)

Male02FI <FDF_Mod Voice02> Required voice samples for the voice pack (example)

Male03NL <DAF_NL Voice03> The first of 9 voices should go in here, from there we label up and later remove the 01+02 folder

You could also send me the files in one lump, or differently if you prefer. All i need is a list of were and at what recording times i can find what kind of sample. I can help you with the translations but maybe i also need to guess certain translations since I’m no soldier myself. Thanks in advance!

do you use winamp? this can play .ogg files i think by default. Via BIS tools you can play .wss files. You can save the files in any format you like but preferably in 320Kb/s (MP3) or higher. Also maybe you could send me a couple of examples before doing them all to see if this can be used together with other recorded voices. Thanks again!

No worries, take your time. I hope to finish the DAF v1.0 in about 4/6 months so if the voices are done before that it will work out great! Not sure if you have XP with Dutch army slang or a good translator but maybe we need to try and make some translations before we start?

Hours away from releasing the new updated DAFmod for ArmA2. Then the count down to version 1.00 can start. unless people come up with more reachable suggestions to add or change things in the mod only a few more items are on the agenda:

1. New CO compatible unit pack or texture upgrade of existing

2. Dutch Voice pack

3. New / better weapon pack (addd a new Diemaco and HK416 or remove some others)

4. Add a mission pack (Warfare, Evo, Domi, Insugency)

5. Fix some scripts (Tire change, disposable rocket launcher, lifting script)

6. (maybe) custom GUI menu and better intro's

7. (post release) Release video and picture show and full custom manual

DAF 0.74 is ready for testing. The ACE bug has not been found so this is still high on the agenda.

@SS9: Thanks for your reply. I was already afraid this error might come back even with packed .pbo files. I’ll try to solve this and rerelease it soon. Maybe removing the line will help but the strange thing is it has worked before...My HDD broke around summer and might have caused some errors in the mod that I’m not aware of sad but true.

The ACRE requirement can sometimes be disabled if you look at the mission parameters before launch (might need to be admin to change). But some missions don’t have that parameter I’m afraid as the missions were not made by me but added since they used the DAFmod. The EOD mod is also a requirement for this particular mission.

mission.sqm are made by the mission editor. Even dough normally i see all the classnames one by one each on its own line and not like it looks like in a addon.pbo.. the creator of the mission might have done it differently i dont know.

In the init one can add a lot of different stuff not sure if all is right there but code can have some strange symbols sometimes yes.

Normally if you would like to remove some dependency (addon / vehicle). you remove it from addon & auto addons list. then look true the mission replacing all unwanted classnames with a new one (placeholder). onces all are removed one can load the mission in the editor and see if all is right....also look true all scripts if the addon is never used and change / remove these scripts or classnames.

then again i have never removed the ACRE from a mission, maybe its easier to just run the mod and not use it... or maybe ask the ACRE guys on what to do.

Update: dont worry, ill work on fixing it this week, just needed a day off after releasing the mod update and doing all the PR stuff etc, also A3 has had a massive update and i found a great new mission for it (endless survival 1.062). so stay tunes im not goin anywere!

Yes, kind of. I tested it for a few hours and everything worked just fine.

im again having probems thatwheni enable daf (.74 clean install) the game crashes as soon as blue for hits opfor

Thats not nice to hear, this is only in combination with ACE right? Have you tried to remove all the modfiles that have NOT the word DAF in from of them (exept A2020, glt_f16, panzerfaust3, rh_hk416, ukf_l115a3)??

it does look like to be in combi with ace, i will try it, gimme a moment

edit:

seems like this fixes the crashes (ace + acex'es active) however, the mod is unplayable because of the missing content

I tested this mod (0.74), very long time. And if kill my unit (from OPFOR unit), the program exits with error (appcrash). But, i don't use DAF mod, then there is no problem.
