Yes i would like to know this too. He just keeps trying to run to a minefield at 025019 (near "Guglovo") for me. Bullet to a leg did not help either :)

I just experienced the same issue. Met Kusan's car at 015028, shot a tire out and killed his bodyguard. He then got out a seemed to get confused as to whether he's supposed to follow me or run away from me. Had to debug move him into my car using a script console. Dropping him off then worked fine. I can provide a save right before I ran into him if required.

Furthermore, there is also an error in translation. After you capture him you are told over radio that Pandurs cannot come to pick him up in Czech, while the English subtitles claim the exact opposite ("...je potřeba ho zavést zpět, ale nemůžeme vám poslat Pandur jako podporu" vs. "It's necessary to escort him back, but we will send a Pandur as support").

Same error for me. I found him in a red car in the SE corner, I killed his escort and the car, the dialogue about me escorting him kicked in, but he ran away to the escape point. great.

Same for me. Also so far I'm totally disappointed about this "DLC". The new area is just a montage of Chernarus villages and landmarks. Mission bugged as always. Do they even beta test before release?

I did it. It just... all done very amateurishly. There is no dialogue with him, no cuscene, you can't use any action in him like "talk to" or "order", he isn't included in your squad to order him easily, and he won't enter in your vehicle.

Zero feedback

But, he didn't run away and just stay there and run a bit around the area, it's actually "working". Just go to the Orion point, use the 4x time acc, and wait, he will eventually run and reach the Orion checkpoint.

I was quite far away when I got the Kusan objective, and while I was nearing the waypoint, my guys started telling him to get down etc, even though he was nowhere to be seen. Then the objective failed.

Later, when we found the colonel ...

...in the castle, the cutscene started before I had even got to the top. There was all this "hands up", "get down" talk and my guy was doing corresponding animations, but the guy wasn't even in the room with us.

Yeah - even though he isn't grouped with you, he has switched to BLUFOR which means you need to make sure there are no OPFOR units between the rescue point and the rally point otherwise he will get taken out (he has no weapons)!

They should have grouped him with the squad - I don't know why they didn't. It somewhat breaks immersion when you trust a captured prisoner to leg it back to a Military Court on his own!! I have added this as a bug - https://dev-heaven.net/issues/39581

Way to go BIS, first impressions count and this is not good. Has anybody gone back to the start point and ordered the MG man (SAW) to rearm ? He picks up one 30 rnd stang ! Tried it twice just to confirm.

I'm having trouble finding him at all. If I reload an autosave, the marker goes off the visible area of the map. Is that normal?

I can't find him at all. It shows the marker at the top of the map and I've driven everywhere and still have no clue where he's at. :(

same bug here. the guy is running confused around but isnt joining me and my team or bord the car. you might think it cant be that hard to script this without failures. and that in the first mission. sometimes im pretty sure i can code missions more bugfree then BIS stuff;-(

Ok after attempting this mission a few times here's what I have so far.

The marker for Kasun shows his ingress direction. It should show up on the road somewhere but I've also had it show up off the visible map area. Figure out the path Kasun will be taking across the map and try to intercept him there. Once you intercept him, kill the driver and Kasun will get out and stand in front of you. Just walk up to him and once your character says the whole "you are arrested" speech, Kasun will start following you around. He won't get into your vehicle or anything so just drive back to point Orion and wait there at 4x speed. Eventually you will get a message telling you Kasun has been successfully apprehended.

Awesome that worked for me. I figured he'd be on the road but I found him in a red car out in a field. Thanks again for that.

If all else fails just don't capture the main guy. I failed to get to him in time because I found the other guy and was going after him. I still beat the mission though.

I got the marker for Kusin (or whats his name) trying to escape mission visible right at the NW corner of map, with a directional arrow visible. So according to advice here I thought it will be direction he is gonna escape, and yes, found him near the E edge of map.

As others wrote he doesnt get into your vehicle, but sort of follows around if you are near enough (so dont drive too far or he might take off on his own, go direct and stumble right into the minefield thats between him and FOB. It also pays to clear out the enemy outposts nearest the FOB so he doesnt stumble into one and get killed.

Finally I just coaxed him back to base, with frequent stops of the car to get him to catch up. But it was kinda stupid. He should just get in cargo of the car (MoveToCargo or whatever it is) and get out at the end.

I gave up coaxing him, and just drove back to Orion using a route to avoid enemy contact. Kasun eventually made it there on his own, as my video above showed, presumably following my "safe" route. It actually didn't take too long for him to make the trip from the NW area of the map. He moves really fast when he has a mind to.... Only at the end did he start to meander aimlessly.

hmmm i was securing a barn in the North east part of the mission and from the distance i clearly saw the guy (Lopatev in the blue jump suit) as I move to secure the barn. To my suprise when i captured it, he was nowhere to be seen and shazam, his marker was on the other side of the map.

Sneaky bystricans and there silent, invisable jetpacks (i assume he had one as it was the only explainable reason it happened :p )

anyway, i finally caught him in another barn..................which had a pick up truck in it. and when the cutscene started it flew across the barn killing my team mate.

Again, sneaky bystricans and there use of the force :p

i enjoyed the mission though. Nice to take things nice and slow, just drive around slowly. Moving towards each objective slowly. There's some bugs and other things but its not game stopping. Still complete the mission.

Now, I hate to pry, but who in their right mind would send a four man squad to capture a dangerous war criminal or two? I mean, honestly, they don't even get any serious AT weapons, which is a problem when you come across a BRDM and only have a couple of satchel charges and mines to show for it.

AT weapons ARE available! Look around more closely. I agree with you about the unlikelihood of sending 4 men to capture the bad guys (but the same was done in A2 Razor Two..., but at least there was a UAV available), but remember that this is meant to be only a clean-up operation. It would have been more realistic if a UAV was employed at start to gain intel on enemy strength and location, and then have the option later to call in either air support or troop reinforcements.
