Upcoming 1.03 patch content

According to Panzer Baron on IF forum, next patch will include :

* New: Engine version (1.62) for a more stable game.

* New: Different damage model for vehicles - they no longer suddenly change to an odd, burning piece of metal.

* New: New system of hitching the anti-tank guns to vehicles; now it needs only one simple action, and can be hitched also by the driver inside the vehicle.

* New: BattlEye anti-cheat system added.

* New: New, wider window for the multiplayer server list.

* New: SVT soviet rifle added.

* New: G43 german rifle added.

* New: New german camo units (Sturmers) added - an official mod made by Nick Leyland aka Stagler.

* New: Flare pistol added to the unterofficers.

* New: New mine system; does no longer need the "Using mines and tripwires" module.

* New: M3 scout can close the armor plate now (need to get out from the car to do it, as in the real one).

* New: The M2 machine-gun sight on M3 scout is switchable.

* Fixed: Improved multiplayer netcode and fixed several multiplayer related crashes.

* Fixed: Many bugs in the German and Soviet campaign.

* Fixed: Anti-tank weapons damage - especially in multiplayer.

* Fixed: Bombs can damage tanks in multiplayer now.

* Fixed: Wrong sound of steps while running weapon-ready.

* Fixed: Hanomag crew can be killed now by the M2 machine-gun.

* Fixed: Small anti-tank weapons doing no damage against tanks in multiplayer (no more "Panerfaust not working").

* Fixed: Various errors of the mines.

* Fixed: Several building issues, doors, geometry problems, crashes due to errors.

* Fixed: A problem with the breakable parts of the vehicles in multiplayer.

* Fixed: Reduced the thickness of the wooden fences against the bullets.

* Fixed: Tank riders now die by HE shells.

* Fixed: Hanomag and M3 scout no longer have such big zoom with the machine-guns.

* Fixed: Sometimes the crew of anti-tank guns was not dying from enemy fire.

* Fixed: Static machine-guns couldn't get turned around in multiplayer.

* Updated: Several multiplayer missions - fixed several bugs for them.

* Updated: Trenches - fixed some errors.

Hm, I might have to fire IF up once this is released. I see fixes for many of the issues I have mentioned. Is there a date yet?

PB said the patch itself is ready, so probably soon.

We gave the patch for release, so logically, it will be released soon.

Hope some stability is seen in the campaign missions, I still have yet to progress past the 6th mission of the German campaign :)

Will Staglers' mod include crews and infantry?
The 1.03 patch will include only the first part of the mod, with infantry only. In the next patch will be added tank crew and other units also.

1.62 engine? :-O So it's already newer then upcoming 1.61 patch for Arma 2?

I don't think the vanila arma 2 ai was any better. With alot of the arma2 ai mods, then yes it is. Hopefully some may get ported to Iron Front.

I was too occupied with RL issues to track this, nice to see it's being further developed and supported.

Once I actually get some time to play this one (so far gone through one or two SP missions on a borrowed copy) maybe there'll be a Dodge WC51 in one of the future patches ;)

Will the jog sound bug be fixed? That's the most annoying thing on the planet right now lol

Russian heads, hands, and feet glow orange now. Looks kinda eerie seeing a glowing orange army rushing you through the forest at night. The fixes and additions are a nice improvement however.
