LilShawnyJ 1 Posted July 6, 2012 So I just bought Combined Operations on Steam about 2 hours ago, and I've been having nothing but problems since I installed it. First off, it kept telling me that the Key was bad or something (I forgot exactly what It said.) I looked on Google and restarted my computer, ran Steam as Administrator, which seemed to work. So I was finally able to start ARMA 2's Boot Camp, where I encountered even more problems. During the First Aid Training, I attempted to pick up the wounded soldier, only to be stuck in place after picking him up, which forced me to force shut down the game. After this I got sick of BC and went to try the Helicopter training, only to have lost total control of my PC, resulting in another force shut down. I then restarted the game to try the Multiplayer (Which I had played a little bit in my 15 minutes with the free version prior to buying the game), then not being able to join ANY game whatsoever. After getting sick of all of this, I attempted to start up OA, only to have it say "No Entry 'bin/config.bin/cfgInGameUI/MPTable.Shadow'." and "Error compiling pixel shader PSSecularAlpha:0." I am really good at staying calm, but this is REALLY rustling my Jimmies, to say the least. My PC has specs that can run ANY game on the highest setting and I don't see why I'm having all of these problems. I'd really appreciate if someone could help me ASAP, as I am really eager to play the awesome game I had very little time with before this. Thank you! ProfTournesol 952 Posted July 6, 2012 Well, looks like a bad install. Did you check the game integrity ?
Tankbuster 1533 Posted July 6, 2012 My PC has specs that can run ANY game on the highest setting and I don't see why I'm having all of these problems. Let's see those specs then. You see, we do get a lot of new members who rock up here claiming their ninja PC can't play the game and then it transpires they have a 4 year old laptop with some POS integrated graphics card. Not saying yours is like that, but this isn't just any game. Although the errors you quote do seem to be all in the graphics area, you still might have a corrupt install. I don't use steam but isn't there a 'verify cache' or similar option to make sure everything is good?
Placebo 12 Posted July 6, 2012 You need to change the shortcut to always run as admin, not just run it once as admin: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/4800/steamadmin.jpg (102 kB) All the errors you report are specifically related to not running Steam in admin. Danimalhxc 1 Posted July 6, 2012 I'm having the same problem with OA! I just want to play DayZ and I haven't tried it yet so maybe it'll work despite the problems with OA but it would still be nice to know whats going on.

What would be really useful is to say what you have tried so far...
Danimalhxc 1 Posted July 6, 2012 Sorry about that. I tried Arma 2 and it opens fine I get to the main screen (I didn't try playing anything though). I tried opening OA through steam and it gives me the same errors as LilShawnyJ. It MAY have been that I didn't have the "Run As Administrator" thing checked off so I checked it, tried running again same error. Then I tried running DayZ and now I'm getting a Bad Serial error, which I think is related to me not running Arma as an admin EVEN THOUGH I'm the only one that uses this computer (aka I'm the only one that has account therefore making me the admin technically?). Oh well, I deleted the games and am now redownloading them so that I can run them as admin now for the first time. Hopefully that fixes my problems. If it does I'll say so and hopefully that helps Shawny out.
ProfTournesol 952 Posted July 6, 2012 (1) Close steam program entirely ; (2) Launch it again, as administrator (right click, run as admin) ; (3) Launch OA as admin too.
Danimalhxc 1 Posted July 6, 2012 Yep everything finished installing and now it's working! No more errors! Just had to check that I was running it as an admin. Thanks guys!
Placebo 12 Posted July 6, 2012 Change the shortcut so it permanently runs as admin: http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/4800/steamadmin.jpg
