Canadian Politics Thread

Naw, it was just a bunch of guys drunk on Canadian beer VS a bunch of guys drunk on American piss water.

The Canadians/British didn't actually burn down the Whitehouse as an act of war, it was just a party that got out of control and some drunk idiot knocked over a candle.

Michigan cop wishes he had gun at Calgary park

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKXDOU98Q6g

This is an example of one of the tourists we get sometimes that give Americans [And legal gun owners] a bad name.

How this guy felt "Cornered" in Nose Hill Park is beyond me, it's a cross between Little house on the Prairie and Leave it to Beaver.

Sooo what happened in between all of this and why did he feel the need to report it if nothing went on? There is a huge gap missing in this story..surely it wasn't just a "Waaah, stranger scared me"

Speaking on Canadian politics, what is the status of the Public Works Act?

Let me take a video of one day at work with all the people coming down here being rude as hell and not understanding how things work here. It happens everywhere. :j: The guy was too jumpy and a bit of a tool. 'Nuff said.

Hmmmm how does he pass his Psychological Fitness-for-Duty Evaluation? I thought that was in place in many US PD's to ensure nutcases aren't carrying guns in uniform? Hold your breath though - he is writing a second letter to clarify things as he says he was misunderstood. Reading some of his previous letters to various publications I would say he needs to get out more lol.

Yes but he is law enforcement, they are trained in many ways to defend theirselves, a gun should be the last resort, and unless the headlines are blowing this up, there is no reason he should have wanted his gun.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not disagreeing with that. My point stands. Though I'd want my gun too, no matter where I am, his reported reaction was a bit off.

Read the letter he wrote

http://www.calgaryherald.com/Nose+Hill+Park+confrontation+makes+visitors+feel+unsafe/7050028/story.html

He first describes them as speaking in a very aggressive tone and then looking "bewildered" with his reply and walking away.

No freaking duh they looked bewildered when they were just being friendly and sociable and you go off like you're taking a shortcut through some dark alley in a Chicago ghetto.

"I thank the Lord Jesus Christ they did not pull a weapon of some sort, but rather concluded it was in their best interest to leave us alone."

No, thank the Canadian laws that he did not have his gun and went all paranoid, commies behind every tree redneck on a couple of people being friendly to tourists.

The only aggression he heard was his paranoid imagination.

I've heard the words "Have you been to the Stampede yet?" 6 times this year alone and I'm in Vancouver on the other side of the Rockies.

Check out those milk smugglers.......errr or is that something else?

It's the nasty behavior similar to what you see when a UN trucks drop off bags of rice off in a famine zone and the fact that there are taking advantage of

the fact the milk is subsidized by the government [American tax payers] and the locals who paid for it can't get any unless they stoop to that starving mob behavior.

It's one of those "This is why we can't have nice things" situations thats now leading to Canadians image taking a beating by people who choose not to follow

the simple behavioral norms of the place they choose to live.
