Possible server issue.

Hey guys, I have just put a server up with the latest version of Takistan Domi. The problem I am having is that lots of people connect then disconnect immediatley after connecting. Only a few people can actually get into the server. The rest will get disconnected right after they connect. Is this aproblem on my end or is ot on there end. Oh, and I am not running any mods at the moment

What does it show in the server console when they connect and drop?

Get the people who cant connect to check their RPT file for connection issues such as NAT Negotiation errors. This file can be found in User/AppData/Arma2 OA/arma2oa.rpt

Is your server or the clients running the latest beta?

Yes we have the last Takistan update, Thats the thing, we cant talk to the guys before they disconnect. Is there a way for me to search and find out why they disconnected?

1st thing is first, check your RPT and then post it here. Your Rpt if you remember for NFO is under the CFG.

Post your rpt using the code so it scrolls.

Dont know why you just didn't contact me as Helped you setup your server.

Notice one in red color. Youre running Combined Ops server ( arma2oaserver.exe ) and you placed reporting IP of Arma2.

Lose the slashes and replace the line with this

reportingIP="arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com";

Is this gonna cure my issue with players not being able to connect. Im just wondering what gamespy has to do with having players disconnect from the server. Isnt this only reporting to gamespy?

I found out it had to do with the latest version of Chernarus I believe. Im running 2.61 and I think thats what it is. Maybe its because they dont have the latest version?

Ya I was working with airborneguy on vent and his issue is hes running a different version of Chenarus, and a mission that requires it, all his clan mates have

this file but no one else does that tries to connect to his server, and when they do they get disconnected aka kicked.

As i was suggesting to make sure that is exactly your issue run a default mission and watch what happens, most if not all public players should be able to connect.

if you do use that mission with the modified version of Chenarus then you will need to add it to the server comment line so that public players know to have that island in order to play.

After running a default mission, post a reply if you could to confirm that was your issue, as this would be something other new server owners could learn from.

I ran vanilla and have the same issue. Could it be thats I dont have the latest version of battle eye?

You ran vanilla what missions? Is the mission with island still on the server?

and again where did you have this island at on the server? Or did you and the clanmates connect to your server with the island in

your target lines and then the mission that required that island was on the server?

the server still shows as a red dot for me, you want to try the vanilla again and see f i can connect?

If you dont get a red dot but green, it dont mean that others will.

NFO servers said it may have been a bad install on their part . there reinstalling now

And its not the latest version because when people join they automatically download it ecause its part of the mission file... I joined 7 cavs a while back when they put up the latest version of takistan and I didnt have the latest version and I was able to join

Latest version of takistan? theres only one version and that what comes with the game.

You referring to Chenarus as you said theres an updated version of it.

Lets see if the vanilla works after NFO reinstall, be sure to review the cfgs to make sure everything is in place, as well as the server's command line.

Let me know when your server is ready, and I'll try to join.

The problem is that you have your server reporting to arma2pc.gamespy and not arma2oa.gamespy and people who are trying to join are doing so from arma2 in game browser thinking its arma2 server. But it isnt. Youre running OA/CO server and if they dont have OA or A2+OA they will not be able to join.

Now mission should not be a problem. Whatever mission you run, game check if they have it or not, and if not it will be downloaded.

If you run Domination Chernarus OA, whatever version users with OA will be able to connect.

I suspect your problem might be the keys, if you fixed that what I told you and nobody is able to enter it.

If you run without any mods you should have 2 files in your arma2oa/keys/ folder. Then again some of the files might be damaged. Tell us how your server is called and we shall see.

It dont work that way as I have the same code on my server arma2pc.gamespy and I can still see and join my own server through Arma2CO.

My server wont showup in the Arma2 mp list, either will his. So this has nothing to do with it, only purpose for this code is to publicly list your server on GameSpy.

Tell us how your server is called and we shall see.

hes running default Arma2CO, like me, of course I dont have issues with my server

and I have the same exact setup except mine is a private server, his is a public 40slot.

Everyone that connects to my server dont have issues.

so it cant be battle eye, and the signatures, he has everything running correctly.

Airborne send me the info to your server, so i can connect to your admin and ftp and take a look at your files, I have the same setup

as you as all NFO servers are the same in its file structure, all I will do is compare notes, taking into account that yours is public and a 40 slot.

Connect to my vent and lets get this straightened out.

When i go onto the Arma2CO mp server list and type in his server name into the filter its 4th btw, the yellow circle with the question mark comes up for me,a nd I ran stock Arma2CO to look at the list.

orange w/Question Mark symbol

means that you are not running the exact same mods as the server in question, and may -or may not- be able to enter.

So as said hes running a modded server, he has files that people need to have in order to join, again that map i was referring to the newer version of chenarus, and that mission.

As suggested remove that means take off, delete what have you those files, and make a simple basic coop mission and put a couple playable units on it, adn then upload it, and then run it.

then find some friends who have never been on your server, or even me and see if we can connect.

I was able to join the server but a message popped up for battleye state my version was 1.155.

so it may be possible that some folks may be getting kicked because you have updated version of battleye and they dont,

however I was still able to join.

Battleye issue.

3be6d0193660678d8afe56dc46722fd1 is a players game key from what im getting if the player is using a key from a key reseller.

From Placebo:

From our side the only times we've seen that error is when someone is using a dodgy key they bought from a CD Key reseller

But for the server side issue I dont think thats the issue it has to do with Battleye not verifying the players connecting right, just a guess but reinstall Battleye.

It dont work that way as I have the same code on my server arma2pc.gamespy and I can still see and join my own server through Arma2CO.

My server wont showup in the Arma2 mp list, either will his. So this has nothing to do with it, only purpose for this code is to publicly list your server on GameSpy.

While that might be true it is the best to keep everything by the book so you can eliminate any possibility of error. SO having arma2oa there makes that correct and I wont suspect at it again.

But I dont think any of these is very important and its not the main reason why people cant connect. Its battleye. I was kicked twice while trying to join for client not responding. I dont have problems with that usually.

So either he is running very old version of BE server, or BE is blocked by firewall and it cant initialize, but I rather think its the first issue.

Other than that you need to work on your network performance, since it took me forever to load you mission and download it. First fix battleye though, lots of problems may come because od it not working properly.
