New helicopter in resistance

Recommended Posts

so apparently theres a new helicopter in resistance, so i was wondering what you thought it would be, i can only see three logical choices the UH-1D has had a lot of speculation about it coming with resistance and would probably be bis listening to all the vietnam fans, or the Bell Jetranger where they would only have to take the mast off of the oh-58 and add seats in the back, the other choice is the MD-500(MH-6) very widely used and not too hard to make, so what do you think it is?

I hope it'll be a UH1-d or a MH-6. They both look good (no, I'm not a vietnam fan, I just like the looks of the UH-1D...) And the Jetranger isn't just a OH-58 with the pod taken off and extra seats. A Bell Jetranger has two blades and the OH-58 Kiowa has four... smile.gif

The US aren't even in Resistance so why would they even consider making ANOTHER US heli like the UH-1 or MH-6? confused.gif

yeah, but it would be nice if they had some Civil Choppers with FIA markings and a few mg's tacked on by resistance

...engine shape and housing is completely different...not just the blade numbers...but anyway...

It will be a civilian chopper...the main character you play is a helicopter tour guide.

And who said there isn't any Americans in Resistaince? Look at the screen shots on the official forum...there is definately an A-10 in one of the pictures and another shows an American soldier looking down on the bridge from a hill...

if it's for the resisitance, my guess is an Mi2.

The Reds need something in that class.

Well, considering the amount of maintenance and ground support (fuel...) a chopper really needs, a guerilla/resistance army would not be able to support it.

Although I don't know if the 'FIA' in OFP:R will be the regular army of Nogova, if they are it's a whole other matter. But if they are a resistance army, they should be limited to ground forces only. Unless they steal a russian bird for use in one mission.

Do you people know nothing?

The main character in OFP: Resistance is a helicopter tour guide...thereby I use my intellegence to reason that the new chopper would be a civilian chopper.

The game sets the scene leading up to 'Cold War Crisis', so I would guess that the Americans make their presence known towards the end as they set up a base on Malden...they can't just appear there maraculously for 'Cold War Crisis'.

Also the resistance in the game are a 'resistance' and not the army of Nogova. It does say on the official site that you and your ramshackle army have no weaponry to begin with other than a few handguns and whatever you can lay your hands on. You must steal Russian weapons and intercept convoys if you wish to arm your men. This explains the AK-47s handled by the present resistance and the T55 they own in the current game...I mean they had to come from somewhere, and to say that they nicked them from the soviet force that was there a few years before is a perfectly logical suggestion.

The Mi2 is a lightweight ute. There probably is a civilian version, and given the Eastbloc style of previous civvie kit, a bit liklier than an MD500, Jetranger, Soux, Alouette or Gazelle.

My guess is a OH-6 why not? There are twoin Magnum PI isn't there, and that was early 80's

Well ok.. once Resistance is out I will release a OH6 for the resistance.. but i was thinking.. should it say FIA on the side of the chopper? this could be a dangerous idea.. because they would be to easy to spot.. i think they should have a normal outside with no markings at all. And since these choppers were not designed for war.. they wouldn't have weapons either.. more or less a quick light transport for insertions.

I really doubt they would put in a MH-6. I mean thats military chopper, not a civilian. A civilian would be a bell jet ranger or something similar. In my opinion i think it might be a huey. Its hard to say... I guess well all just have to wait till the game comes out...

8 days guys...8 days biggrin.gif

I think they will be releasing the little bird because Capt. Moore made a Mh 6 little bird pack for ofp version 1.60 and will release it when the Resistance comes out.
