Introduction

Absolute Zero is a work in progress survival multiplayer modification for OFP/CWA. Absolute Zero aims to provide a quality modification where atmosphere is the key element. The goal is to provide a world filled with content by the community, made especially for Absolute Zero. Hopefully the modification will be featuring a new island, new units, new weapons, new buildings with interior and quality sound.

Absolute Zero is set in a fictional low temperature post-soviet area in the 90's. After the Cold War came a new cold, low-temperature era. In a matter of years the new climate took over, resulting in total chaos. Food and clean water quickly became scarce and riots ravaged around the world resulting in the collapse of most governments. The world is now covered in snow and the ex-rule of law has been replaced with the law of nature: survival of the fittest.

You are one of the few survivors in your area. Every day it's a matter of life and death, nowhere is safe. Welcome to Absolute Zero.

Details are still undecided; keep checking this thread for more information. This is a community project, not only my vision, if you have ideas share them! Ideas and suggestions are very appreciated.

Technology

Absolute Zero aims to bring a quality modification for the community. Absolute Zero uses the Multiple Session Gamemode-system developed by qbt. The system enables players to save their progress and continue where they left off, enabling a whole new OFP/CWA-experience.

The Team

The team behind Absolute Zero currently consists of only me and help is needed. We are looking for talented people who want this mod to see the light of day.

We are looking for a:

  • 3D modeler
    (weapons, vehicles and units)

  • Texture artist
    (building interior/exterior, weapons and units)

  • Sound artist
    (capable of recording at least one of the following: weapon, item or ambient sounds)

  • Music artist
    (capable of creating fitting dark ambient music)

If you value high quality products and you own all rights/you have been given rights to the content you contribute you've most likely got what Absolute Zero needs. If you are interested in joining the team send me a private message here on the BI-forums!

Just an idea...

It would be great to have some aggressive AI wolves in forests. That would help creating a tense atmosphere.

Forests would no longer be a safe place.

You could use Itweas wolf modified by Faguss (he added multiplayer compatibility)

However this would probably require getting permision from Itweas himself, because his wolves need to have their armor values decreased, because current wolves have more armor than UAZ jeep :)

Thank you for the suggestion Icarus. However, this project is frozen until I can gather a small development team to discuss the details of the project.
