new amd fx "8 cores" memmory problem after installed new CPU

after I tried to play it starts to lagg as hell, i´ve tried every tips i have found on this forum, I have flushed vram and reinstalled arma2CO directx and new gfx drivers and i now use gameboster. but still the same error: from rpt

your free virtual memory seems a bit low also,

if you don´t know how to change it look under 'help and support'.

not sure if it's done by default, but does it help if you add -cpucount=4 to the shortcut?

anyway, the character in arma is not as responsive as in other games, what result do you get from the benchmark missions (bench 1 and e08, disregard 2, it's ridiculous) and what are your settings (all of them plz, some settings can cripple performance)

yes i have the patches for win7, yes my free virtual memory reported from arma 2 co ver. 160.875 but i hav 24 GB ram and before it craches i still have 19GB free.

I never have triplehead but from Matrox site only dualhead mode support 3200x1200 :confused:

What is your memory setting in Arma2, if not default set it so.

Post your localVRAM=<VALUE>; from ArmA2OA.cfg.

thanks will try that.

have also detected a fault on the drive i had arma2oa installed an delay on sevrel clusters, dont know if this can do anything, but the software i used reportet 10ms/faulty areas. and again thanks alot for all tips, will report back.

it is my gfx card that cant handle arma2 CO, but i think i solved one thing with amd fx cpu, arma2 CO works better with -malloc=nedmalloc_bi as i tried one by one and read about them it seems as nedmalloc are the most best vm handler for amd cpu.

about my gfx it is as i suspected its not the gfx it tell the world, but it works fine with vanilla 45 fps on benchmark 1 with normal settinings and 28 with very high. benchmark2 couldnt I start in arma2 CO, but in vanilla i get 21 fps on normal.

benchmark i used was armaholics.

did you hand 3.8 TB virtual memory in action in this machine, aside Arma2 workload ?

or its happen just because/when it crashed with nearly 3Tb footprint ? :)

try cap it by HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\IoPageLockLimit key set to reasonable value[as long as A2 claimed to support only LAA 4Gb, try 4032 Gb [enter "4227858432"[Decimal]/"fc000000"[Hex] into this key].

and btw, IMO TCMALLOC is better.

JEMALLOC wasn't bad too, especially third version, but on heavily seaturated/overloaded environment with huge amounts of spinlocks/conflicts and context switching overhead, TCMALLOC did better.

practically it appear in better MINIMAL FPS ingame, with less average FPS.

less, but stable FPS, mean more comfortable gaming performance/experience by/for players.

NEDMALLOC for reference had different advantage - its standalone, so its more suitable for portable appz.

but more developer/demanding[discipline and coding planning/engineering].

also TCMALLOC develped FAST, thanks to Goodle investments.

even compared to Facebook contribution to JEMALLOC camp 4 comparison.

WAY faster.

something like "-maxmem=4095"(2048 ?) in Arma2 launching shortcut also wouldn't do harm too ;)

its not "right or wrong" malloc derivatives choice, just about "how use" it :)

in software development most things not work "straight from box" 4/5 times or didn't do that properly, just because their creators [similarly]lazy too.

NOBODY read documentation anymore among developers, sadly :[

p.s.

some microcode issues[both for iNtel and AMD]fixed in following updates for motherboards firmware/BIOS, so you should try more latest ones with yours.

basically im tell than because Arma2 is based heavily on ICC, made by iNtel[in Novosibirsk office/lab]around GCC suite, with huge emphasis on iNtel-specific optimisations.

Well if it makes Arma2 crash, it's wrong as far as I'm concerned ;)

I only recently updated my BIOS to the latest so nothing more I can do there.

for lotsa of resources/memory JEMALLOC wasn't bad option too. soon it will get built-in HP trash collector too. watch JEMALLOC team 4 news.

sadly it wasn't Arma2 case, cuz memory footprint start hitting 32-bit 2-4Gb boundery/barrier way quicker :/

guess we're don't get thing to sorted/fixed until 64-bit binaries finally become meainstream/part-of-box.

p.s. about "making Arma2 crash" - as BIS dev's stated, both five allocators was modified for Arma2 usage, so there is the catch/reason/cause of CTD, i guess, ie[lack of]software engineering/planning.
