Setting up a Server - Files from Steam - No Server EXE

Recommended Posts

I have a quick question. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I have my dedicated box all setup and good to go. I Installed Steam on there to download ArmA II and OA and did that. They are both installed as if I was going to play them. This is what I have for patches downloaded:

ArmA II Patch 105

ArmA II Patch 105-111

ArmA II OA Patch 160

ArmA II OA Beta 93160

To install the patches though, I need to run the game/server once to create the registry files. Is that correct? If so, this is where I am lost. I can't run the game to create the registry files because it is a server box. I just get X3DAudio1_6.dll is missing, and it won't launch. I also can't run the server because I have no server EXE. And I can't add the -server command because I don't have a disk...

What do I do...? Also, if I need different patches, I would appreciate it if you pointed me in the correct direction.

Thanks.

As for patches there is no need to do that manually. You can keep your games up to date with steam client. It should update your games to latest stable patch. ( 1.11 A2 and 1.60 OA )

My explaination for server - Run the beta patch on your computer and drag the beta files to your server beta folder and take out arma2oaserver from there and move it to main and launch beta :)
