Considering Operation: Arrowhead. How's the co-op campaign? Is it buggy?

Recommended Posts

My friend and I currently own Arma II and we enjoy playing the co-op campaign together, but it's extremely buggy and we get frustrated with the AI and the save functionality and stuff like that pretty often.

Anyway, does Operation: Arrowhead improve the game's stability at all? How would you guys compare its campaign with the Chernarus one?

And is the map interesting? Because I really dig the "domestic" feel of Chernarus' forests and fields. Does the desert map have cool stuff?

Thanks

Operation Arrowhead SP campaign is for lack of better words, shit. Reasonably stable, depending on the time it takes you to run out of patience. Note that instead of playing one unit you will be in 'charge' of separate AI squads, sometimes at very different locations. Briefing materials and campaign presentation is reasonably good however.

That isn't an argument NOT to get Operation Arrowhead! Doing so will unlock "Combined Operations" and unleash the full fury of all current community created content. Including mission packs, modifications, and more. I promise that you won't go bored.

I played the campaign with people, nothing massive bug wise just standard bi stuff, the campaign is okay, as well. In terms of stability plays much better than chernarus, its not as populated building wise aside from zagrabad which is a city, as cherna after all its in a desert, but there are plenty of settlements. I personally prefer Harvest red campaign, but that probably stems from my love of chernarus itself.

The arrowhead engine is much more advanced than the Arma 2 engine. You can still play the original campaign when you are running as 'Combined Ops' but with the advantage of the newer, better engine.

Also, you will now be able to play all of the community made islands and mods too - you are bound to find something you like there.

To be honest I don't think I have played any of the BIS campaigns all the way through - there is so much community content out there that I have never needed to!
