unit design

Recommended Posts

Hello. I dont want to spam, but i would like to share my opinion about design of the units.

For me, it looks like the child's toys. It is very unfortunetly. The game is from the future, but why units doesnt have "the spirit" of units from Battlezone II, or Hostile watres for example. In these games, you could feel, that there is several tuns of deadly warmaschine, tuns of steel for only one purpos. Seek and destroy.

CC units seem to me like from pen of 10 years old boy. And it is shame. I would expect design like has RAH66 commanche, F22/35, or Merkava, AMV...ect. Just something, what is bringing respect and joi just from view.

I understand, this is task mearily for MODers. What do you thing about this? Sorry for my English.

Well I don't have the beta and from screenies I saw the Mantas design looks pretty mean, but I fully agree with you regarding the Walrus. That thing looks like an upscale toy.

I look at the front end of a Walrus and immediately think of a Range Rover.

Well - I consider it like this. The Mantas are VTOL - so they have to be light. They can hover, and the ducted fans move beautifully, and I love the "flames" coming out on takeoff! They do sound a bit like a Hoover, but I've never heard what a real Manta sounds like, so I can't complain! They must have awesome engine output to be able to lift a Walrus though. Talking of which - the Walruses are great! - essentially a Big Trak with plasma guns. Awesome!

Funny that - have you read the interview with the sound engineer ?? I think more sample of Jet engine and less of the cleaning womans "evil" hoover may sound better .. .. ..
