Mission with player pilot team

I play arma2 combined ops with 2 of my friends. We have it modded, to perfectly tailor to our wishes, ace, acre and all. Since alot of the coop missions are made for big player groups we usually have to resort to several AI units. Which is fine, but sometimes lack in immersion because of some weird AI behavior sometimes. Because of this, most of the missions including any type of Air combat/support besides scripted infil exfil is strictly a nogo.

Is there a mission out there, where one of the players could take on the role of a heli pilot, providing insertion, after that holding pattern, target ID and support from above, and then provide exfil at certain locations. The other two players would work on the ground, with one or two team leaders (i.e. two squads with commands each, or one player command the other in the same group)

Hi, I have a few small-ish missions with air combat & support.

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=15239 This mission is 8 man, with 2 squads -- 2 in an Apache (Pilot and Gunner), and a 6 man ground squad. You could have one person be the pilot and then the rest be in the ground squad. It can be completed with any amount of people, even in single-player if you wish to multitask.

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=15491 10 man mission with 3 squads -- an A-10 squad, a ground squad, and engineer squad. I'd recommend one player as leader in each of those squads so you can command the AI around.

I dont play much besides my own missions, I am sure there are great coops out there.

The Fire Fox Series, is a 16 player coop, however during the testing mainly 3-4 players and it can work out well. We use a lift chopper and MHQ's. The pilot is really required for several tasks. For example one task is to secure a hilltop with 10 enemy infantry then transport our AA equipment to that hilltop via the lift chopper. With MHQ's needing transport and after unlocked the attack choppers, the pilot really does get used. Combinded with on the ground tatics to take out aa, instead of moaning the enemy have aa it can be a real blast.

The Missions are fun and setup for good fun gameplay so respawn, revive and halo with teleport gives you a few options of task approach. There is a main objective, but also 10 different tasks great for a small group. In forward base the main battle is holding the base, but as the base is pounded by enemy arty a small group needs to go and take the arty site out.
