UKTF 1 Posted February 3, 2012 *Posting on behalf of =UKTF= Silver* _______________________________ Hey all, I've been having this issue on and off for a few months now, but it has started being consistent & is starting to effect my participation in my clans Ops & training. I spent about 5 hours trying to diagnose & fix the problem last weekend (assisted by my fellow clan members [one former PC technician & one ISP support technician), to no avail. The issue I am having is when I connect to my clan server I experience major desynch, very high unsteady ping (40ms-500ms), and high bandwidth. I only experienced this after a minute of running around in the server, or if I try to take an item from a box or enter a vehicle. My ping will go from 30ms to a very high, unstable ping, and I will have the other issues I mentioned. Note: I only experience these issues in Arma II, on my clans server (details are IP:81.19.212.31 & Port 2302) 1. To try to fix the issue I first made sure my ports were all forwarded & arma II was through my firewall. 2. I restarted my router. 3. I monitored the packets being sent to and from the server using Wireshark whilst in the server. It returned no errors. 4. I went onto the my clans server (where Arma II is hosted), and used wireshark to monitor the packets going to and from my external IP. It too returned no errors. 5. I verified it wasn't my network cards in my computer by using another network card to connect to my router, from my pc. I still received the error. The only two leads I have at the moment is that it is either my cheap crappy ISP provided router (zyxel p-660hw-t1 v2) or my ISP. I was going to buy http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-Wireless-N-300-Router-Modem/dp/B003FS40KU/ref=sr_1_10?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1328294691&sr=1-10 as a replacement router, and will be moving house soon, so I will most likely change ISP. I posted here as a last resort to see if you guys can offer any suggestions or help. Also if I do get a new router, will that one suffice for Arma II/Gaming? Any others people would recommend? Any other advice? Thanks for reading this! :) Cheers, Silver
