German Forces next Generation

Recommended Posts

I am a Hunter for myself and I know what you mean. My problem with the ammunition is that you can't shoot through a bush or a wooden board and have still the precision you have with the 7,62 × 51 mm

Well good for 5.56 that shooting game without seeing it properly is not considered responsible hunting...

I agree with Beagle. 5.56 just fits most situations. It's enough to make a target combat ineffective. Granted, maybe not as quickly as 7.62 but still. It's the nuance between "kill" and "neutralise". And the latter is what you should aim for. Strategically speaking.

For all other ranges up to 2000m there are other cals distributed to the troops on patrol.

Plus they are constantly working on making 5.56 more effective. See the latest cartridge used by US forces. Iirc it's called M885 or something like that.

The Overall Issue currently with the 5.56 mm is that the face of a conflict has changed over time from large encounters with big opposing forces - to minor small units fighting in an urban terrain. Which makes it necessary to have a bullet that will completly put down your opponent with 1-2 hits. The smaller 5.56 mm sometimes did not bring the wishes result.

 in a conventional conflict, it is also necessary to kill the enemy over long distances with 1 or 2 shot, think about the "norddeutsche Tiefebene". the compounds make's the 5.56 mm often useless, that's right. But a German brick wall would do the same :p

--- CUT ---

What kind of MG-4 will you build? Hopefully with an RSA-S over the ZF? A Version with an ACOG as you can see in this Doku?

Will you build the 2 Versions of the G28 that the BW will use?

1. I'm looking to build the MG4 as delivered to the Troops - including the Scope Rail, additional with NVG enhancement and one Version with Eotech as Backupsight.

2. Yes i think about building both variants of the G28, or actually 3 plus the NSV 80.

@Robert

You ruined the surprise! shame on you!

I haven't heard anything about the G36 being chambered in the 6.8x43mm caliber. I would have expected any number of defense industry publications or firearms sites to pick up on such a thing. Are you sure this isn't just an incorrect rumor?

Not that a 6.8mm G36 wouldn't be cool, it certainly would, I'm just curious as to if such a thing is actually going to be developed or fielded.

It currently is in Fieldtesting over in Munster with 20 units of the G36 IDZ in 6.8 mm. Together with the "regular" new G36 IDZ.

It has not been on any newspage or blog yet because it is very vague if the System will be introduced or even produced further. It currently is the struggle between a new System and the older ammunition that needs to be used at some place, you can't just let millions of Dollars in ammunition rott in a Bunker or even throw it away.

Aside from that, the news about the addition of the G82 and new G28 needed a long time before realease too. The G28 was just so fast because it is already build on a HK417 System, so no big mayor improvements on that side.

So the G36 with 6.8 mm could just be droped like the OICW or G11 before it.

thanks man, really appreciate that, i think the hand drawn textures help a bit as well as the fact that newer weapons are always welcome.

BTW what is with this MLP obsession so many people seem to have caught? It's a virus! Ahhhgggh!

WHAT kind of camoflage pattern is this? The cut of the jacket and trousers looks like US ACU style made by Propper or Tru-Spec.

Oh and yeah - because there is so many haters - i shortened the RAS System quiet a bit. So no one can hand me his "wisdom" anymore.

Oh and if there is anyone in this great community that wants to contribute to all this - i would be please to have a specialist create configs and get the gun in game actually. Sadly i don't really know my ways arround Oxygen or Configs, so sooner or later i would be stuck at some point.

I always thought they look more like that:

Didn't see this for a while so forgive references to old posts. Firstly you should never feel ashamed to show your work, creating models much less addons is a very deep process, and the quickest way to progress is to often get some tips, who knows you may even learn a few neat tricks :) Though for the public demo that gun is looking pretay sharp, you have an eye for detail thats certain.

The only thing I'd recommend is lightening the dark version up a bit, right now it's very difficult to see much of the detail and this is against a neutral grey background, it will be even more difficult to distinguish anything ingame since you'll have a more colorful and bright backround. Oh and awesome avatar.

Nofty especially for you :)

And Fluttershy I hope you will put that magnifier behind that eotech ;)

and nice work on the details! The new folding stock is pretty detailed, maybe you will add some IDZ variants with Carl Zeiss ZO4x30 + Rsa
