Sharpshooter221 1 Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) I originally purchased Reinforcements from EB Games before ordering Combined Operations off Ebay. I had it installed and messed around a bit on the game before uninstalling to install them all again and merge the content, once I had done this I ran the patch to get them all up to date, I try to run Combined Operations and... "Failed to load file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 REINFORCEMENTS\BAF\addons\air_d_baf.pbo" - decryption of headers failed." The bloody game won't run and I have no idea what to do, I tried reinstalling Reinforcements, got the same error. -- Please help. David Schofield 10 Posted January 27, 2012 That sucks! Have you tried doing a whole new clean install of Combined operations, and then installing reinforcements? All I can think of is either downloading the air_d_baf.pbo file separately, or "faking it out" by copy/pasting a generic PBO file and renaming it to the air_d_baf.pbo, and then going into the disc with "explore" to copy and paste the real missing air_d_baf.pbo file from there straight back into the addon folder (overwriting the falsey). More simply: Copy and paste any PBO file in the addons folder. Re-name said PBO file to "air_d_baf.pbo" install Reinforcements. go into the disc, locae REAL air_d_baf.pbo Copy & Paste said important file into addons folder, replacing the fake one. Dwarden 1125 Posted January 30, 2012 for original poster that would mean the BAF was incorrectly installed/updated try reinstall / update with 1.60 final about 1s freeze ? tried defrag your HDD? or is the game on SSD?
VGD 10 Posted January 31, 2012 (edited) I installed ArmA2, ArmA2 OA and ArmA2 RFT in different directories: 1. C: \ Program Files \ Bohemia Interactive \ ArmA 2 \ 2. C: \ Program Files \ Bohemia Interactive \ ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead \ 3. C: \ Program Files \ Bohemia Interactive \ ArmA 2 REINFORCEMENTS \ All ArmA 2 to version 1.11, ArmA 2 OA and ArmA 2 RFT to version 1.59 updated and run successfully. Then ArmA 2 OA and ArmA 2 RFT successfully updated to version 1.60. After this update ArmA 2 RFT run successfully. But when run ArmA 2 OA (!) then get a message "Failed to load file" C: \ Program Files \ Bohemia Interactive \ ArmA 2 REINFORCEMENTS \ BAF \ addons \ air_d_baf.pbo "- decryption of headers failed." I reinstalled and updated both ArmA 2 OA and ArmA 2 RFT to version 1.60 but lead to the same effect. I completely removed all the games. At the time I wanted to combine the ArmA 2 and ArmA 2 OA together into ArmA 2 CO. While I updated them in another way. I installed ArmA 2 then ArmA 2 OA into the single directory by default, and created ArmA 2 CO. Further I add ARMA 2: RFT DLCs with Setup Utility from site http://www.arma2.com (this function does not run on the original CD) and immediately updated this via the patches v1.60 then v1.62. Thus I have solved this problem! Thanks Dwarden for the lightning-fast support ! PS: Since the problem exists, then decrypt the files it needs to be solved in the next update release. Edited March 16, 2013 by VGD The successful solution of the problem.
Dwarden 1125 Posted January 31, 2012 you dont need to install the RFT if you already have OA, just install PMC/BAF and update the DLCs (via1.60 patch)
Sharpshooter221 1 Posted March 27, 2012 Apologies for not replying for a really long time. Had some other issues that made trying to fix my problem impossible at the time. I popped in the disc and clicked the option to only install BAF and PMC, then ran the patch and whatnot. Everything works great. Thank you for the assistance. - Sharpshooter.
