teetime 10 Posted January 20, 2012 We made multiple Test and found out that the Direct Chat is linked to VON. Following Situation: All Tester used the 1.60 OA Version. We tested on 3 different Servers and one selfhosted. No Addons were used. Effect: As long as VON is enabled the Direct Chat works. After setting VON to disabled the Direct Chat stops working. You can write your message and send it, but nobody can see it! Additional we made a similar Test on one Arma 1.11 Server. Under 1.11 Direct Chat isnt linked to VON. You can disable VON and your are still abel to use the direct Chat. Questions: Is this the way it should work or is this a bug? Why does Arma have no possibility to enable only the Direct- and Vehicle- VON? This would be really helpfull in fights on the one hand and would stop idiots from spaming the whole server with their own music on the other hand. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

teetime 10 Posted January 20, 2012 Our Experience is that: Arma 2: Direct Chat works without VON since nearly 2 Years. We never had any Problems. Arma 2 + OA: Version: 1.59 Direct Chat was broken in arround 70% of the cases when you disabled VON. For some Player it worked even if VON was disabled. Version: 1.60 Direct Chat is broken in 100% of the cases when you disabled VON. We have a handfull of player who told as that it worked sometimes, but nobody out of our Team can confirm this.
