L.K. 19 Posted January 17, 2012 First of all, you need to decrypt the .pbo files the units' textures are stored into. There's a lot of good .pbo decrypting tools, like the great PBO Decryptor by Amalfi. Then, inside the addon folder, you'll see various files in .paa or .pac format: these are the units' texture. If you want to modifiy them, get yourself a program that can handle such files, like PaNtool by Dschulle (download link is at the bottom of the page. See instructions on how to use it.) Normally textures are draw using Photoshop or Illustrator. But actually, almost every graphic editing software can be used to that purpose (yes, even the good old MS Paint :p). Hope I helped you. :)
Macser_old 0 Posted January 17, 2012 The simplest way,I suppose, would be to name your "replacement" files the same as the originals.Making sure to backup,or rename the originals first of course. Although you'll still need to do some conversions from pac and paa to/from your preferred format. There's various tools for that available on ofpr.info. A uv template will help to make sure your editing stays tidy.Fab's P3dUnwrap is a quick way to get a per texture uv template. Simply open the P3d in question and Export the map that relates to whatever texture you're editing. Edit: You'll need to do some packing/unpacking too. :)
