DWaldie 1 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) I'm playing through the badlands mission and have managed to take Novy Sobor. I've approached the area on the map marked HQ and by chance, pressed the middle mouse button and I've managed to set up a base and earned some cash in the process. So: Is this supposed to happen? How can I rearm at this point? Can I set up further bases and/or defenses? What a damned fine game this is :bounce3: OK, so the penny has dropped. The game has morphed into something like a FPS version of Command and Conquer. I know how to rearm and build bases now. Is there a guide on the other aspects of the game at this point? It's damned difficult. Edited January 14, 2012 by DWaldie
Hanzu 10 Posted January 15, 2012 Is this supposed to happen? How can I rearm at this point? Can I set up further bases and/or defenses? Yes. You can't rearm USMC weapons, but you can buy and rearm OPROR weapons. No bases, but defenses for strongpoints yes. OK, so the penny has dropped. It's damned difficult. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Warfare_2_Manual Please note that Warfare 2 missions of Harvest Red campaign (Badlands and Dogs Of War) are not real Warfare-gamemode missions so there are some differences between them and genuine Warfare mission described in above manual. DWaldie 1 Posted January 15, 2012 Cheers Hanzu. I've put some time aside tonight to see if I can get that second town.
DWaldie 1 Posted January 15, 2012 Ok, I've captured Stary Sabor but all the Napa are toast and some of my team are out of ammo. I have worked out how to purchase more for me, but how do I get them to re-arm?
Hanzu 10 Posted January 15, 2012 Never mind of NAPA squads. They are always annihilated when capturing towns 2, 3 and 4. Usually some of them are still with me in the third one. Build barracks and buy AT specialists to run with you. Buy Empty BRDM-2 and use it for yourself. Ignore capturing stongpoints just go for the main base from the right direction to get the town. Since taking Stary Sabor a large defensive unit has appeared. Whilst there, I can only buy a 6X6 truck and guns etc. If I move to the earlier stronghold I can build defenses such as MG nests etc. I can't buy a BDRM or AT specialist and one of my guys is still complaining that he has run out of ammo. I'd shoot him but the game would end!!! ---------- Post added at 07:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:42 PM ---------- Ignore my last post. I worked out I need to be at HQ. And I've got another mission. I still can't get my men to re-arm. How many additional men can I buy? Edited January 16, 2012 by DWaldie
jakerod 254 Posted January 17, 2012 You may have to manually have your men rearm. It would be easiest just to have them move near a corpse and take what you can from the body. Tell them to move to the body then select them go to Action (6?) tell them to gear it should work I don't believe there is an easier way to do it. I want to say the unit limit is 10 units - 15 units per team. Should fall within that and I'm leaning towards 12.
Hanzu 10 Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) How many additional men can I buy? I want to say the unit limit is 10 units - 15 units per team. Should fall within that and I'm leaning towards 12. In Dogs Of War I have bought over 300 men to a same team to test where is the limit. The limit is unknown for infantry units, since after 300 men lined behind me in hundreds of meters long V formation game started to be pretty sluggish with maximum graphics settings so I gave up buying more of them. In Badlands I have also had certainly more than 12 in one team. About 30 the last time I played it. In both Badlands and Dogs Of War you are more likely to run into maximum limit of vehicles: http://dev-heaven.net/issues/25636 BTW. Good tip for Badlands if you ever play it again is to play it on CDF side and drive HQ APC and conquer Rogovo and Pogorevka with it. Then drive it to hills south of Stary Sobor, convert it as HQ building and start to flood down BRDM-2s downhill to Stary Sobor and later to Novy Sobor. When playing Badlands in NAPA side HQ APC seems not to be driveable. The difference of drivable and non-drivable may be a bug or just design. Majorbookworm 10 Posted January 19, 2012 Hey guys, I'm currently stumped with this mission for a number of reasons, one is a bug involving an attempt to rearm, but ive figured out whats causing that. My main problem is death however. Anyway to get to the point, I wanted to know if there is a way to reinforce the High Command groups given to you at the start (two infantry squads and a UAZ w/DSHKM) or create new ones from purchased units. Thanks.

DWaldie 1 Posted January 20, 2012 My God the third village is difficult. And my number 3 still doesn't have any ammo. I've just spotted the single missions. This game is damned good value.
gotrek 1 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) simple question: I attack village 2 all goes fine then after a bunch of orders all the units under my command apart from my own squad blue to black (the nato symbols) and they no longer respond to my orders, why is that? Also my all razor team is stuck in town so I can't command my guerillas and I can't command my buddies...campaign unfinishable. I had the same problem. You've moved to command mode and you need to shift-space to move back so you can control individual units. You'll need both mode later on. kerrys86 1 Posted January 31, 2012 i still cant figure out how to re arm my men
gotrek 1 Posted February 1, 2012 You tried ordeing them to rearm at nearest box, dead man etc? I think it's under the order 3. You get a list of orders like vehicles and stuff and the top one is go rearm at this depot. I think it only works on one guy at a time though.
Asahix 0 Posted May 8, 2021 Other day I set up a HQ in the construction menu. The following moment, the BRDM just moves itself to the HQ and I have no idea how to get it back. Any ideas, guys?
