We are UKTF (United Kingdom Tactical Force) and are a British based ARMA 2 realism clan who run operations based on British Army tactics. What sort of missions do you do? We have various types of operations such as attacks, patrols, advances to contacts, night operations or various other basic types of missions. The only real conditions to our operations are that they are realistic, challenging, well designed and also enjoyable. We operate an air and ground force and this helps us expand the scope of our operations to include helicopter insertions, parachute insertions, and various other methods. Our pilots are also capable of acting as OPFOR. Currently, we do training at least once a week and an operation at least once a week. What makes you different from other clans? Rather than relying on heavily scripted (or unscripted) AI, we utilise real players to act as the OPFOR for our operations. Our OPFOR exist to help simulate realistic operations with tangible objectives and assist in giving the experience of different types of operations. Although the nature of our operations is essentially PvP, this is not to be confused with a deathmatch. Our operations are designed to account for the limitations of the ARMA 2 engine (such as no long distance grass and cover) and offer a reasonably realistic experience. Thus, the OPFORs main role is to act as a convincing and fair enemy force. What do you expect from your members? We're looking for players who are enthusiastic and passionate about realism gaming, have an appetite for learning and are able to conduct themselves in a mature and sensible manner when appropriate - and have a sense of humour and are up for banter where appropriate. We conduct quality training to enhance your game, and have our own missions designed to make our operations efficient, effective and enjoyable. In return, we expect our members to show dedication to the community ethos of the clan, by acting as enemy once in a while, and by participating as much as possible. There is a flexible age limit of 18. We have members who are not 18 who have conducted themselves in an exceptionally mature manner, and thus the real deciding factor for us is how a player conducts him or herself. We expect a reasonable amount of loyalty and time dedicated to the clan: the main point is, we are a community. Are members expected to contribute to the upkeep of the servers? Recruits are not expected to contribute towards the upkeep of the clan’s assets, but we do expect full members to contribute to the upkeep of the clan’s assets, currently set at a small contribution of £5 minimum monthly. However, this is completely flexible based on personal circumstances. While this may be a turn off for some potentials, its only common sense and realistic to realise that a high end dedicated server and website doesn’t come for free. Additionally, any excess from contributions will be donated to a charitable purpose, such as but not limited:- • Help for Heroes • Royal British Legion • Or any other charity as appropriate. In return our members get quality training designed to enhance your game, the enjoyment of taking part in a unique and friendly community and the services of our dedicated members who keep things rolling as efficiently as possible. We run our own dedicated ARMA 2 server, website, and Teamspeak server. What modifications do you use? We use ACE and ACRE. We also use our own clan modpack. How do I get in contact? UKTF 1 Posted April 8, 2012 Update: Well, it's been almost 4 months and we have welcomed many new members. Our Operations are consistent and strong & we have had the fortune of having joint operations with the 4th Dragoons. Of course, we are still looking for any other units or clans interested in joint operations/training with us. All our members have a basic competency in section tactics, and are always looking for new members, whether they are veterans themselves, or completely new to military tactics, UKTF are a perfect group to learn with. Learning isn't the only focus we have though. We have had many Ops, of which summaries can be found on our main page if you are interested (http://www.uktf-clan.co.uk/).
