pathfinder 0 Posted June 6, 2002 LOL; good thing you didn't step on a rat, you might have really ticked em off then Many here seem to forget we have a saying in the US. NO shirt NO shoes NO service Good thing about this saying is women don't always have to abide by it.....and I don't have a problem with that
Wobble 1 Posted June 6, 2002 America is a country made up of immigrants, so I think that you should be less cocksure about Amercan vs. foreign things. The bottom line is that it is their house and that gives them the right to set the rules. so if the ruls of my house were that you must walk around with a knife stuck in your asshole, thats what you should do eh? their "rule" would break my company policy, risk getting me fired, and endanger me (my feet) fuck their rule. they signed a contract, and part of it is letting ME do my job when its needed, they dont like it, they can get satellite or some other bullshit, but since they do like it, well there just isnt much they can say about it, they want the service bad enough, they can either lear how to be their one cable people or put up with ME and the rest of the profession. and yea the US is made up if immigrants, but you dont expect each "immigrant" to speak every other immagrant's language and know and follow all their customs and whatever stuff they do.. NO.. i dont want to fuck their daughter, just instal their cable, and I could give less of a shit about them past that capacity, same goes for every other customer. YOUR JUST A NUMBER. Argh! You are such a re**rd. If a cable guy walked around in your house in his boots, we would be listening to you whining against cable guys. And if the cable guy had been an immigrant, we would be listening to your always half racist insinuations. You are an embaressment for your country and it is people like you who give USA a bad name. you can assume that I guess, buts thats about it.. moron... Exactly. It is business. And USA is a free market economy ruled by supply and demand. This means in practical terms that if you don't please the customer then they will choose somebody else to provide the service. After your boss sees that ppl from living in the places are moving to a competitor, he will fire you. No I wouldent get fired, but fine by me if the move to a competitor, the only competitor is satellite TV, and nobody likes it as the deal is a POS compared to digital cable.. if the customer is not happy because their cable was installed wrong, thats alegit gripb, but they they are pissed that the installer didnt conform to their religion while working.. thats tough shit. Die Alive 0 Posted June 6, 2002 Hey Wobble, can you hook me up with free cable for this Saturday night only? I wanna watch the Tyson - Lewis fight. Did anyone see the movie Falling Down? The part where that crazy white guy goes to the fast food place at like 10:45Am and asks for a breakfast, but they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. So the guy tells the girl at the counter "Did you ever hear the saying 'The customer is always right?'" And the girl says "Sorry, that's not our policy." And the white guy pulls out a gun, lol that was funny. Or the other part in the beginning where he goes into the Korean store trying to get change and he's told he must buy something, then he tries to buy a coke but is charged 85 cents for it, and he goes nuts and smashes everything in the store. lol, then he says he's only standing up for his rights as a consumer. So if the company's policy doesn't include "The customer is always right", then the people who want the cabel shouldn't bitch and moan when something doesn't go their way. Oh yeah, I think it was Andrew Dice Clay who once said: "There should be a sign at the airport that reads: 'If you can't read this, get the fuck out' " LoL, he's was pretty funny back then in the late 80s, early 90s. Man, I gotta listen to his CDs today. -=Die Alive=-
Wobble 1 Posted June 6, 2002 Hey Wobble, can you hook me up with free cable for this Saturday night only? I wanna watch the Tyson - Lewis fight. If I only ahd A dime for every time I was asked that LOL, cant do it, its pay per view, all software at the main hub.. gonna run between $50 and $60 for that one as for "custormer is always right" its a novel idea, but totally stupid.. if the customer was always right there would be no need for professionals, because you would have to do whatever the stupid ass customer says (and do it wrong) thus negating the purpose of your position.. nordin dk 0 Posted June 6, 2002 Hey, what the hell is going on in here! Â Why did noone inform me this was a Wobble-bashing thread! The other day I was in a pizzeria, a lady walks in with a dog. That's a bad idea. Dogs don't belong in restaurants ...but... Two guys (Wobbleites) suddenly yell at her: "You f*cking b*tch! Get your disgusting dog out of here. You're such a whore, b*tch, just shut the f*ck up and get your mutt out of here" That's how I imagine Wobble. What's the point? Obviously, it didn't make her anymore inclined towards a) leaving b) think twice about doing it again c) contemplate why someone would have a problem with it The world, as it is, is full of hatred and violence, and frankly Wobble, your kind of attitude doesn't help one bit. Wobble 1 Posted June 6, 2002 Well, I would rather be an asshole than an idiot.. and no unless its a seeing eye dog it has no business being in a restraunt, thats just plain rude. Â seems like that would be commin sense, no wonder we have signs like "please refrain from molesting chickens while in the restraunt" The world, as it is, is full of hatred and violence, and frankly Wobble, your kind of attitude doesn't help one bit yea, its my fault I was not fully educated and ready to break company policy, learn indian and lick some asshole.. my bad.. tolerent? how about letting somebody do their fucking job without harassing them because they do not follow your customs and religion, or speak your language.. yea the world is full of hate and intolerence isnt it. nordin dk 0 Posted June 6, 2002 The interesting issue is not whether it is rude or not for the girl to bring her dog into the restaurant, the interesting issue is comunication. If someone approaches you with a smile, you will be more likely to hear what he has to say, and thus understand him better which gives you less reason to resent him. Anyway, it seems you choose to resent people from the getgo, and I don't understand what you wish to achieve with this. Do you have no interest in other people in general? Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 6, 2002 Part of Hindu culture is that when in someone elses house, you have to remove foot and head coverings, as a sign of respect. Either that or they had just had their floor waxed and did not want your stank ass uncomfortable steel toe boots walking around their house. Actually I thought your first post was pretty funny Wobble, but if your company's policy runs against their cultural guidelines, it would probably be better if you told them that instead of ignoring them. I imagine if they were able to call your comapny and order cable, Ill bet one of them has rudimentary English skills. On occasion I work as crew on tile-setting jobs, so I do know where Wobble is coming from. Many people are incredibly obnoxious/timewasters, and they have a great capacity to get on your nerves. However, that doesnt change the fact that you are in their house, and are trying to get them to pay you. They dont have to request your services, but they do, and if that keeps you in a job, I wouldnt bitch about it too much.
Wobble 1 Posted June 6, 2002 it would probably be better if you told them that instead of ignoring them. I imagine if they were able to call your comapny and order cable, Ill bet one of them has rudimentary English skills. NO FUCKING SPEEKA DA ENGLITCH!!!! how many goddamn times do I have to say it, they did not speak ANY, they could point and mutter to eachother THATS IT, i dont know if they had a bilingual friend set up the service call or what, but these 2 people COULD NOT AND DID NOT UNDERSTAND A WORD I WAS SAYING. Part of Hindu culture is that when in someone elses house, you have to remove foot and head coverings, as a sign of respect. Either that or they had just had their floor waxed and did not want your stank ass uncomfortable steel toe boots walking around their house. fine by me, they can do it themselves, their personal quirks are not my problem or business, if they have a problem with the service call becase of my uniform, tough shit, cancle it and do it themselves. period. same goes for a church or whatever else. We have a dress code and safty requirements, and no religious or regional quirks can or will trump company protocol. P.S. I disconnected 6 people today PERMANANTLY for stealing cable, this was the 5 time they had been caught.. now they have to buy satellite TV or something else.. FUBAR 0 Posted June 7, 2002 Unless a customer specifys special restrictions or working conditions at the place of install, why should the contractor bow to their every whim. I install business telephone systems (my own business) and we inform the customer that they have to remove ceiling tiles, fixings, pc's or what ever or we wont be held resonsible for damage, we had one company that tried to sue us because we told them to move their server 4ft (the server crashed) they was without a network for 4-5 hrs, they tried to say that the server did not need moveing to do the work so they held us responsible for the down time, nice having a terms & conditions that they have to read and sign:) and yes it didn't even get to court (and they are still our customer). As for removing footware unless the customer can supply an alternative footware then they have to put up with what we have, not forgetting that they have to ensure that the replacement footware is clean and safe, also if you get injured while wearing thier footware they are liable for your injurys, as they are also responsible for your health and safety while working there. If we get butthead customers we normaly ask them to provide proof of their liability insurance before any work is done (you should see their faces):):):) And yes I have a very profitable business:):)
