Drawing upon my research abilities cultivated during my secondary school years I was able to ascertain that Limnos only occasionally sees snowfall and generally has mild winters.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemnos#Climate :p

In the story as we understand it so far Iran has only advanced so far into a troubled Greece and stopped, therefore on the brink of all out conflict with NATO. Meanwhile Russia seems to be using it's oil and gas resources to influence the rest of Europe, possibly withholding it from those it dislikes. There is clearly trouble in the Far East as China and America seem to be taking part in a whole new Cold War, using smaller warring nations as proxies for their own ends.

To my mind this set up BIS are aiming for provides a fairly convincing tinder box situation for a real World War.

Well Lemnos gets enough snow for a winter version to work.

So it does. Perhaps those conditions could be believably made worse with some reference to climate change. We don't know exactly what the 'natural disasters' in Turkey are meant to be but they could be climate related.

Intelligence Leak Suggests Existence of Iran Black Ops Unit

Here we have a possible CIA Intelligence Brief, courtesy of a trusted source, detailing reference to a possible Iranian black ops unit in the Mediterranean. Our trusted source tells us the brief originates from a CIA Intelligence Agent, only known by "Odevil". We have no confirmation of this information, but there are clear references to the Greek island Limnos, as well as the names of two senior Iranian military officials. The brief below:

T O P S E C R E T/<<REDACTED>>

NOFORN

FROM: US Embassy London

REPORTING: <<REDACTED>>

SUBJECT: Unit 400

REF: A. London 202

B. <<REDACTED>>

C. <<REDACTED>>

1. BACKGROUND: The following intelligence was obtained primarily by ELINT surveillance of secure traffic in and out of Parchin military base. No HUMINT sources are available outside Bushehr; so much of this information has been inferred based on statements made by GENERAL OSTAD JAVEED ATTAR (ref. IR/45604-40) and COLONEL VAHID NAMDAR (ref. IR/56094-35). This information has been cross-checked where possible using Iranian Defense Ministry documents provided by <<REDACTED>>.

2. GENERAL ATTAR has direct operational control of a company-sized formation based at Parchin military base, referred to in numerous communications as UNIT 400. No unit matching this designation is listed in official Iranian Defense Ministry files, suggesting that this is a highly covert unit operating under the auspices of Iranian military intelligence (VEVAK). The unit’s executive officer is COLONEL VAHID NAMDAR, a career IAF officer with expertise in special operations. Phone intercepts between NAMDAR and VEVAK officials in Tehran indicate that NAMDAR also acts as a liaison between VEVAK headquarters and UNIT 400, which suggests that the unit operates outside the jurisdiction of both the VEVAK and the General Staff. This is an unprecedented level of autonomy, even for a special operations unit.

3. The unit, which is unofficially referred to as MARDKHOR (lit. “Man-Slayerâ€), is comprised of four Operational Units (OU), each the size of a reinforced platoon (36-42 men). Each OU has its own designation, and mission responsibility. The 1st Operational Unit, designation SHAMSHIR, is tasked with FOREIGN INTERVENTION, or military operations outside the Iranian Federation. The 2nd Operational Unit, designation CHAKKOSH, is tasked with DOMESTIC INTERVENTION, or military operations within the Iranian Federation. The 3rd Operational Unit, designation PESHKABZ, is responsible for INFILTRATION and COVERT OPERATIONS. Finally, the 4th Operational Unit, designation DABREH, is responsible for LOGISTICS and OPERATIONAL SUPPORT.

4. Personnel serving with MARDKHOR are senior Iranian al-Quds troops with extensive combat experience and superior training, equivalent to SFOD-D (DELTA) or DEVGRU (SEALS). They are equipped with cutting-edge weapons and tactical operations gear, including communications and battlefield management systems thought to have been purchased illegally or stolen from US, European, or Israeli defense contractors. It is believed that their operational doctrine includes the use of advanced warfighting technologies, such as augmented reality data systems, UAV and UGV support, and adaptive camouflage for specialized units.

5. MARDKHOR has access to dedicated air transport and long-range air support from the 305th Support Detachment, an Air Force unit based at Hamedan that is specially trained in covert operations. It is unknown whether the unit has similar access to Iranian Navy assets, but it is assumed that MARDKHOR is authorized to commandeer whatever resources necessary to complete their assigned mission, just like other al-Quds units.

6. It is unknown at this time how MARDKHOR fits within the Iranian chain of command. Since ATTAR answers only to the General of the Iranian Army, and further, to the President of the Iranian Republic, it is assumed that MARDKHOR requires Presidential Authority in order to be deployed, much like the US DELTA teams, but given the unit’s secrecy and autonomy, this cannot be confirmed.

There are anecdotal reports that suggest MARDKHOR has been deployed more than once on missions without official authorization or oversight.

7. It is estimated that MARDKHOR has been operational for nearly two years, roughly coinciding with the period when NAMDAR accepted a transfer from the European Theatre Command in Izmir to the newly constructed military base, designated “Objective-Omegaâ€, near Kontopouli, Limnos.

8. COMMENT. ATTAR has used his connections within the VEVAK and Red Pegasus to create a special operations unit that is equal to DELTA or SEAL TEAM SIX, but exists outside the Iranian chain of command. The military and intelligence threat posed by this unit cannot be overstated. END COMMENT.

Now, "mardkhor", or "mardkhora", comes from ancient Persian folklore, of a man-eating beast with the body of a lion, the face of a man, and a spike-tipped arrow-shooting tail. It is more commonly known by the word "mantikhoras", or in English, "manticore".

Whatever it is the Iranians are doing on Limnos, it sure must be important.

There are two things threatening turkey and especially Istanbul (costantinople):

- It's an sismic area on exactly an intersection of two tectonics.

- It could be a war between some Arabian and Turkish armies that may end up by Arabs taking the city !

I see a lot of useless comment above and i'm just commenting that chupacabra-like photo above !

Are you really going to argue with a moderator? Sounds like someone is asking for more infractions! Either way, no, it's not like a chupacabra. And definitely doesn't suggest anything about zombies. It's an artists rendition of a manticore, although it's a faulty one, because manticores are supposed to have the face of a human. That face looks like a lion. But it was the coolest-looking rendition of a manticore, so I went with it. Here's the original:

Jeff Miller: Manticore. Zbrush, July 2009

I got the idea for my previous post from Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Specifically, the idea of an Eastern Deniable Operations Unit kinda like SFOD-D. The text is based on a fake CIA information brief, from a Ghost Recon Future Soldier viral marketing site, about a Russian special forces unit called Special Training Unit 500, and unofficially named Bodark (Russian for Werewolf). So, a couple months back, I did my research on Iranian units, and I found information about a secret Iranian unit called Unit 400 (not making this up) that supposedly conducts foreign operations (as in outside Iran). They are supposedly a unit with the al-Quds forces. Basically, they are Iran's version of Delta Force... So I was like, wow, that's cool. It'd be cool if they were in ArmA3. So I did a mockup image of a possible look for this Unit 400, which I nicknamed Mardkhor, from mardkhora, which is the same as mantikhoras, which is a Persian mythological beast. And it looks like a lion with wings, and the ArmA3 Persian flag has a lion with wings, so I was like, Wow, that's awesome. And, so, to kinda revive this thread and kick things back off I posted up some fanfic about the unit. Hopefully I can actually make an addon with these guys.

Razor team and the bunch from Op. Arrowhead were killed trying to do peacekeeping in Bystrica to help the Czech (ACR DLC), and the PMC team are now stranded and disbanded to go seperate ways (the remains of ION).

Now, after the 2033 Jerusalem Peace Accords when Israel had to give in due to Iran's nuclear strikes (but resistance still fights hard, and the Israeli Defense Forces has moved further West toward allies for support), Italy also is trying to free the oppressed Greeks as the war intensifies. All of Greece is currently occupied by a power-hungry nuke-abusing Iran, but most citizens have effective groups smuggling weapons with the support of NATO using an underground system similar to the Danish underground of WWII. The UN is widely controversial due to how the Eastern half (a future 2nd New Soviet Union as well as a captured, Chinese-influenced Japan and South Korea (now just Democratic People's Korea captured by North Korea after a widespread bombing destroying mines on the border) is taking over Europe as few countries (namely everything Germany and westward as well as Italy, France, and a confused Spain) can withstand the rush of the theoretical 2nd USSR. However, a once again isolationist US has units trapped in Europe after the sad casualties in Takistan and Chernarus and must continue to fight with NATO with it's few units left in the Mediterranean or so).

Oh, and regarding Chinese tech, since they supplied North Korea as they took South Korea and they have Japan, they have pretty good computer systems as well as some interesting armored cars and technology, and are doing quite well!

I'm basing this off how China could pass Japan if they tried to do expansionism against the US in the Pacific. The other Oceania countries (except a concerned Australia) are all neutral.

Wrote a little story. Don´t know if its good, but I know for sure the location I picked was bad. IRL, the OP is in the most nonsensical place ever. Anyways, here goes:

The wind kicked up swirls of dust from the rocky ground, just beyond the boundary of OP Batman. All around, the shadows of the clouds racing overhead passed over the greenish-brown shrubbery growing on the flanks of the jagged mountains of the far south on the border of what had once been the provinces of Rhodope and Xanthi, and now the demilitarized zone inbetween occupied eastern Greece and the sovereign western parts of it.

The sun bore down from the sky, stark shadows cast where it broke inbetween the clouds. Barbedwire glinted all around the former mountain Farm, but not a single movement betrayed its occupants. All in all, there were fifty soldiers here, half and half greek and american.

Specialist Harry Borman removed his helmet, untangling a knot in the chinstrap. A mumbled curse escaped him as he undid the latches, trying to fiddle them into the correct places again: somehow, they had gotten entangled on the march, when the Helmet had been attached to his backpack. Now, inside the OP, the CO had demanded everybody wore them.

Next to him sat corporal Randolph Manx, a stout, short man, who had been Harry´s friend ever since he had arrived in the platoon. He idly chewed on his gum as he watched his friend wrestle with the straps of his helmet, the camouflage netting dangling from his own almost covering his eyes. Above them, the OP´s commander, Lieutenant Adam Steinfeldt surveyed the mountains across the border with his binoculars. To his right waited the radio operator, a thin, scar-faced greek soldier, who was called Arcenio something-or-other.

Harry could never remember these weird greek names, nevermind pronouncing them. In fact, by now he wasn´t even sure he could actually -talk- to his greek brothers in arms. On the march, and now, the americans and the greeks hadn´t really conversed with each other bar single words and court gestures.

He perked up when the lieutenant spoke up above him, shifting against the hesco bastion he used as cover.

„Alright, seargant, note this down. Point yankee: the usual two vehicles. Also the usual big recce kit on one of them, looking right at us.“

Point yankee was just down the valley beyond the OP, on the first ridge on the other side of the nominal border between occupied and free greece. There, the Iranians had cut down the shrubbery, emplaced a temporary dugout and a road just on the other side of the ridge, out of sight. Every day, three times a day, a wheeled patrol reached this point, took a peek at OP Batman and left again.

„Next... Point Romeo.“ the lieutenant continued. „Enemy automated observation post seems to be still intact. Camera´s in place, but they have improved camouflage over night... wouldn´t surprise me if they... hey, what the fuck is that?“

Harry and Randy froze, perking their ears. Romeo was south of Yankee, on the face of the ridge. Above them, their commander strained as he leant out over the barricade, trying to get a better view out of the viewport. After a couple of seconds, he dropped the binoculars, and looked back down at the foxhole behind him, gesturing at Harry.

„Borman, get off your butt and fetch me Wilson. Bring the CLU, cool... and put that Helmet on.“

„Yes, sir!“ Harry replied, put the Helmet on, grabbed his MX and leapt out of the hole. All the time, he kept his head down to prevent the enemy from observing him as he moved towards the buildings where the heavy weapons team was placed. A heavy machinegun in a second-storey window, and the AT team with its Javelin launcher.

Harry reached the building, opening the shabby door. Inside, the air was dusty and the light sparse: all windows had been boarded up, and sandbags placed to reinforce the barriers. A few soldiers sat around a table, busy with maintaining their weapons. Specialist Uriah Ole Wilson laid on the floor at the back of the main room, helmet covering his face, hands folded over his chestrig. Harry stepped up next to him, bumping his leg with his boot.

„Oldface.“ He said, causing the man on the floor to stir, pushing the helmet aside, revealing his freckled face, and fiery red hair. Uriah blinked, before sitting up. „Eh, Harry... the fuck are you doing here, aren´t you supposed to be outside?“

„CO sent me.“ Harry replied, hefting his rifle as he nodded towards the door. „Told me to bring you and your CLU. Spotted something, seemed kinda urgent. I guess he wants a good look at it.“

„Damn, and here I thought I could get a little rest.“ Uriah grinned, getting up. He disappeared trough a doorway, returning with the CLU in hand. He grabbed his rifle, and followed Harry outside.

When they reached the commander, their comrades had already placed the makeshift bipod. Quickly, they mounted the humming CLU on it, swinging it around to point it at Romeo. Harry disappeared back into his foxhole, though keeping an eye of the men working over him and his buddy. Once the unit had cooled down to operating temperature, the lieutenant peered trough the optics, carefully scanning the area where he had spotted whatever had aroused his suspicion. It only took a moment for him to find what he was searching for.

„Huh... what is that contraption supposed to be?“ Harry listened to the rustling of fabric, and the faint clicks of buttons being pressed. „Kind of... looks like a metal storm. -Damn- well camouflaged too. Okay... take note: enemy seems to have emplaced a multi-launcher on the ridge across from our position, directed at us, presumeably. Escaped our observation last night, just like the camo job on the camera.“

That was a bit unsettling. Harry had seen metal storm autonomous grenade launchers in use as area denial weapons and defensive emplacements, and from the stories he´d heard from people who had fought in the Turkish campaign, you didn´t want to end up on the business end of those. However, as long as it was only one...

„I suspect there´s more than one too.“ ...well so much for that. „One wouldn´t be enough to turn us off in one go. So where are the others?“ the lieutenants voice faded to a whisper, as he peered trough the CLU´s high magnification optics. „Shit.“

That's pretty good! You're a really good writer.

Thanks. I didn´t think this trough, so it´s pretty shabby. I´m currently doing some research on the 7th ID and its lore. As a german, it´s kinda difficult to access things over in the US, so I´ll have to rely on the scraps I´m gathering around the net.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7th_ID

Pretty interesting. It apparently has been inactive, but has been reactivated, as of october this year. Their mascot is the black widow spider, and their motto is "Light, Silent and Deadly"

Most of their battle honours are korean war streamers. Currently trying to figure out if these guys were Marines at chosin basin type material. They were praised highly for their tenacity in combat during the korean war, it seems. It´s all pretty interesting stuff.

Maybe I´ll do something exploring a bit of that heritage, and the effect of recent events on the soldiers serving in the mediterranean in 2035.

Well it's not a deployable unit right now. That's probably why BIS chose 7th ID.

Thought I'd try my own hand at writing an ArmA story.

A bit of a technical explanation-this is using my idea of how ArmA III's story should take place, involving the final battle before the 2024 Jerusalem Accords taking place at Marathon, which brings up my ties to the "history comes again" theme. Again, none of this is (officially?) canon, but it's my take on the world we're going to be jumping into next year.

Marathon

Part One-Landing with the Tide

"Well, this is a hell of a place to fight a battle." Sergeant Marshall Willis muttered, holding his standard-issue FN-2000 rifle lazily in one hand. The sand before him seemed morose, foreboding. A thousand thousand years ago men had died here in a battle that meant just as much here as it had done then. Their blood still called to the living, to the warriors who were now fighting on Greek soil. 'Join us', they said with a siren's whisper.

"What are you talking about?" Corporal Lucas Taylor replied, a tired but confident smirk on his face. Unlike Willis' dark brown hair and equally chestnut eyes, Taylor had blonde hair and emeralds for pupils. Eyes had to be windows to the soul, as they were just as lively as the Corporal's attitude. "Last time some shit went down here, the Persians went home with their tails between their legs."

"The Persians didn't have air power, nor did they have cruise missiles." Willis snapped back. "And they were using spears, not next-gen assault weaponry." Taylor lifted a hand in front of his face.

"Woah, sorry to piss you off. Happy you're on my side, Sergeant." Taylor sighed and shook his head. "Stress is getting to ya, huh?"

"Of course." Willis answered. "We've been told to fight off the largest invasion force since they struck at Gibraltar using what ever's not fighting the Iranian forces to the east, and having only a good day or two to be ready for them." He eyed the half-constructed sand barriers and trenches crossing the sandy shore. "At least they gave us priority air. Otherwise, I'd take my chances fighting with the Greeks." Taylor bobbed his head in semi-agreement.

"Hey, nobody said it was going to be an easy enough job." Taylor said softly. "But out of every single Brit, Frenchie, Duetsch, and Spaniard in the world, they picked us to hold the line. You, me, and the rest of the blokes in the division. So, keep the chin up Sarge." He tapped the side of Willis' helmet with a free palm. "We're Two Para, remember?"

-

The day passed quickly enough, to Willis' surprise. It seemed like someone had pressed the fast-forwards button on the entire day. Morning changed into noon, which promptly changed to night. All the while, Two Para set up shop across the beach, digging more trenches and setting up firing positions to cover the entire landing zone. Or, at least, the assumed landing zone. The source for the invasion plans seemed to have been trustworthy enough to waste the time of an entire division of men, as well as a good squadron of American-made, NATO operated F/A-35B's. If it had been some clever ruse, then it had been a damned good one, on par with Overlord's pre-emptive manuevers. Willis was sitting in his foxhole when his radio beeped. "Possible RADAR contact close to the beaches, all men to their positions!" Willis snatched his '2000 from where he had left it and readied himself against the barrier, checking the sights one more time before they fell into the breach. But as the minutes passed, the contact did not move. It, in fact, seemed oblivious to the heavy British position on the shore. Willis eyed the night horizon, hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of the mysterious invader. Thoughts rippled through the Sergeant's mind. A spy ship? Special forces transport? The possibilities rattled about through his mind, each one bringing up a new theory, a new threat. The whine of a hand-held UAV being launched passed through the crisp Aegean air. It took only a minute for the reply to come back.

"All call-signs, stand down-contact is civilian fishing vessel. A PT boat has been sent to fetch it out of harm's way." Command hailed, going by the moniker of "King". Willis gave a sigh of relief, and slowly lowered his weapon.

"Well, that was pretty fuckin' terrifying." Willis said with a chuckle to the rest of the men in the foxhole. They nervously laughed with him, every one of them honestly wanting to release the tension, and every one of them slowly failing. That one time had been a fluke. They all knew that you couldn't get lucky twice.

-

The PT boat skimmed towards the fishing trawler at a good pace, about fifty knots not to raise too many alarms. After all, the Iranian invasion fleet had yet to be spotted. The 'Leftenant' aboard went by the nick-name of 'Caine'. It had meant to be ominous, just to scare any Iranian shit-less who ever came across either comm traffic about him, or worse, his boat himself. Not like he expected any of the OPFOR in this case to have actually read the book or seen the movie, but it was still just in-case he came across one of the more literate ones. The American's made a hell of a spin-off of the thing, he mused aimlessly. Too bad they aren't here themselves. I could have used the help. The trawler began to come into view, and Caine called out for the ship to slow. He pressed a button to use the ship's speakers, and pulled up beside the boat. "<Attention, civilian ship.>" Caine said slowly into the mike, looking through the already-written down instructions and translations. "<You have entered a war-zone. For your safety, we are here to lead you back to port.>" He paused, waiting for some reply, but the trawler seemed to be ignoring him. "<If you do not comply, you will be treated as a hostile vessel and seized.>" Again, no response. He gave a glare at the vessel, and then pointed to one of the ensigns behind the PT boat's heavier ordinance, an American-made Mk. 19 grenade-launcher. "Put a round across the ship, just to get their attention." He looked at the three Royal Marines behind him. "Get suited up, and be ready to head over." They nodded in reply, and began picking up some odd rifle. Caine had little time to care for the weaponry of his contingent of Marines-his life was with the boat.

The Mk. 19 gave a soft thunk, and a violent splash came from across the trawler's port. To the commander of the other ship's credit, he did the "abandoned" act fairly well. All the lights had been off when Caine had arrived, and they remained off-only the soft patter of the ship's engine came from the vessel. "Alright, sort 'em all out." Caine barked. The Marines moved towards the bow of the PT boat and waited until the trawler pulled closer. Then, they jumped. They landed as quietly as they could, but the ship rocked as they hopped on, alerting any possible defenders that they had been boarded. The ship itself was not huge, so they couldn't hide many people aboard. There was a cabin, a crane for carrying in nets, and presumably a lower level for other members of the crew. Caine leaned off the instrument panel and waited for something to happen. He didn't even know what came next. The blinding light of an explosion came well before the sound and fury, so Caine's mind had hardly any time to realize it was already dead. The bomb was conventional, of course, but it really didn't matter at this range. The trawler blew apart like tinsel paper as the metric tonne of explosives in its hold went off all at once. The immediate effect of the explosion was the disintegration of its steel confines (which had only absorbed about a tenth of the blast), followed by the sheer brute force tearing the PT boat to pieces, as well as its human inhabitants.

There had never been anyone aboard the trawler.

-

The bright flicking from the distance was the surest sign of trouble Willis had ever seen. "Holy shit!" He whispered, his mind already formulating what had happened even though it was a crude guess on a single spot-light. His suspicions had been immediately confirmed when the first shell hit. The roar of the sand being torn to pieces immediately followed by a plume of dust and ashes split the night silence. Willis threw himself down as the debris came back down again, only to be lifted into the air once more as another shell landed. The radio tried to tell him something, but Willis couldn't hear a damn thing over the massive explosions. The Iranian fleet had finally arrived, and was perfectly content with obliterating the beach well ahead of landing anything. It would be only a matter of time before their air support arrived, followed swiftly by their infantry. "It is on people, get yourselves ready!" Willis managed to shout over the din. Over the line, the men of Two Para readied their rifles and waited for the Iranians to arrive. Taylor, only a few meters away shot a look at the Sergeant through the narrow trench. "Good luck" he mouthed, before turning back to face the front. The conflict had finally begun.

-

The instant that the PT boat had gone offline, the call had gone out to the fighter squadron a few miles inland. Only seven minutes later did the first of Eagle squadron take to the air. Captain Harry Baker, "Eagle Six", took the F-35 up to an immediate rapid climb soon after taking off, pushing the fighter's afterburners all the way up to beat gravity and the clock. The men on the ground were desperately asking for help, fighting a battle that they had not been specialized for. If the Paratroopers were to survive, they needed air cover. "Eagle Six is up." Harry announced over comms. "Headed to first waypoint."

"Copy that, Six." One replied, a Colonel Michael Striker. "Get yourself there and wait for everyone else, out." The sky was now his, and the drone of the F-35's engine matched the howl of the wind outside to a T. But none of that seemed to get through the cockpit, nor through the helmet Harry had adorned. He was in his element, he was in his sky. Nothing mattered anymore other than him, his job, and his squadron-mates. The F-35 was a brilliant piece of work, capable of some-odd mach. Faster than anything the Iranians had still, and hopefully would stay that way for a long time. The flight over to the first waypoint was short, but he still had time to eye the beaches below. Harry couldn't hear the explosions, but he could see them through his Night Vision scope.

"I'll be damned." He muttered. "The sooner we can get ready, the sooner we can stop all of that." The bleep of his RADAR gave him something else to think about. Fuck! He realized with a start-the Iranians were sure to have deployed fast-air to cover the beaches themselves. "Eagle Six to Eagle One, hostiles ahead, I'm engaging." He didn't wait for a reply as he armed his AMRAAM missiles. The first target was a Sukoi Su-35 "Flanker", sure to give conniptions to anyone who let them be. He lined up the shot, and pressed the firing fob. Below him, the missile shot off with a roar as it speed away from the fighter and towards its destination. The Iranian pilot had only a second's warning, but at this head-on course he had no time to react, nor would he be able to use flares. The explosion was violent and over in a flash, but the fighter registered the kill all the same. Harry pulled the fighter into a turn as the rest of his squadron-members arrived. On the radar screen more and more contacts appeared, all of them heading straight for Eagle Squadron. It was going to be a lively evening after all...

I know I'm stopping Part One half-way, but I'm out of time here. So, continue the next section Part One-A. Review, please.

So heres a little about Ireland in 2030- 2035

In light of the recent Iranian expanisionism in the middle east and in Europe, The US department of defense looks at possible weak points in European military power. They identify countrys that could be invaded with ease, and Ireland is No.1 on that list. Although you may think Ireland is unimportant, it is a strategic location if you think about it, its the westmost point of Europe, a Backdoor into the UK, and of course could serve as a launchpad for an invasion force heading to the USA. The Irish Goverment persues a vigorous policy of neutrality, although they are under Nato influence. The Irish Defence forces, although well trained and a very capable infantry force, they have little air cover and air mobility ( 8 Pilatus PC-9 Prop planes and 6 AW139 utility helicopters, although by 2030 they would have been replaced by new aircraft but in similar numbers). The US DoD send a delegation to appeal to the Irish goverment and the Dáil Éireann to expand their military. The Taoiseach refuses even though there are sufficent funds from a second "Celtic Tiger" in the 2020's. The Goverment wants to Preserve neutrality, but this is against public opinion.

The Delegation offers to deploy US troops in bases in Ireland, but again the Taoiseach refuses. The UK begins to put pressure on the Goverment as well and with public demonstrations and public spokesmen saying they want to stand with Europe against the CRZ.

The Goverment is forced by the international pressure to introduce a bill into the Dáil, allowing membership of what remains of NATO and the obtainment of Military Equipment under a NATO-wide lend lease agreement. The Aer corps get the Saab Gripen and Sikorsky UH-60 blackhawks. A few C130's and RAH-66 Comance helicopters are also obtained. Many of the young Men and Women join the Army, which considers deploying overseas to reinforce other countries on the brink of falling to the CRZ, such as sweden. Far left groups oppose the breaking of neutrality and see it as selling away the countrys future. Irish units deploy in France to support Nato towards the end of 2033 and although putting up a fierce fight, eventually withdrew with the fall of france in 2034.

This is my first go at something like this so go easy on me lol, i intend to make up news articles and such about the Defence forces and their actions overseas in the Armaverse.

So heres a little about Ireland in 2030- 2035

I'll go easy, but the story isn't an invasion of Europe anymore. BIS changed that. At first, Iran invaded all of Europe, so, including France, Germany, etc. Now, Iran ONLY invaded Turkey and Greece. So, if anything, the Irishmen should be sent to reinforce Turkey and Greece, before Turkey and Greece ultimately fall.

Good point, I kinda missed that.

But, does Iran still have plans to conquer Europe, or are they content to assert their dominance in the middle east?

If Turkey is suffering from a natural disaster the Irish Goverment would send troops to help with humanitarian aid and such.

Perhaps the humanitarian troops get caught in the Iranian invaision of Turkey?

ill try and get more soon.

That would be cool to write about. I'd think that the Iranians would want to invade Europe, but I'd expect them to not do it alone. I'd think they'd have allies in the Middle East, like Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, maybe even Jordan. Also, they'd invade Saudi Arabia first. They'd make sure there was no country in the Middle East that NATO could launch an attack from. Saudi Arabia would be the last regional power, besides neutral Israel, that is an enemy of Iran. They'd invade the Saudi kingdom, and then they'd be ready to invade the rest of Greece, and then on to Europe as a whole. But I'd bet they'd do that both with the help of their Middle Eastern allies AND with the help of Russia.

It could also be interesting if they turned on Russia and trying to pass through Georgia and Azerbaijan (I forgot the blanket term for those countries. Caspian? Uralic? I think there is a term) and hitting resistance, both from locals and paramilitary groups. A sort of modern WWII-in-the-Balkans scenario.

I dont think Russia would be to content on letting Iran control much of the middle east.

Russia would probably not like to have a large and unpredictable empire and military so close to them.

Iran would control much of the world's oil and take countrys that were previously under Russian influence and put them under Iranian influence.

What im trying to say is " Would Russia tolerate another world superpower so close to it and a superpower that is unpredictable and controls much of Russia's fuel?"
