Thanks Big, didn't expect that to get updated so soon :D ty genesis92,,, for testing and replying,,, i will sure give it a go again tonight,,,sorry that we couldn't test different way to make it work, like~~ the way it should be. putting those 5 part close to the chopper (not into its cargo space). Man~~~~ we were under high pressure (we love it), endless wave after wave of zombie keep jumping us from all direction, longer we stay more they come (we freaking love it big time)... and fear of losing those part, like getting kill while carrying those part either on u or in ur vehicle... its pretty much lost forever.. we just didn't hav the time to guess how it work... BIG ty for replying and making such awesome mission we enjoy it alot... over all it was a excellent, solid awesome mission... however i don't quite see how it is a sandbox mission... casue all we done was look for the chopper and part thats it... what else r there left to do??? (sorry for the harsh comment don't get me wrong, we do love ur mission a friend of mine almost miss work cause how much fun he had with ur mission he had forgotten to sleep) Thank you for the comments ^_^. And, I know the helicopter part thing can be confusing...not explained yet in the "Notes" section. I really didn't expect anyone to find them all yet! The team and I have been developing Degeneration for a long while and we still have not found over 3 of the helicopter parts...we always die! Degeneration is called a sandbox mission because the players are free to do what they want. You can sit in a corner of the map and see how long you can last. You can go from town to town killing zombies. Anything you can think of, you can do in Degen. (Within the limits of ArmA of course :P ) The helicopter/parts is just there for players that felt the need for an end goal. You can win by repairing the helicopter or you could just completely ignore it and ride a motor bike in circles all day, doing jumps off of the zombies. Or if you want a definition: Sandbox Games Players are free to go wherever they like within the game environment. These are also referred to as “free roam†games. The character that you play can navigate around the environment, explore, and complete goals and missions at their own pace. ArmA, in itself, is a sandbox game anyways. Not sure what could be causing it but I might have an idea. In the mean time, try reducing the # of zombies per KM^2 down to 30ish and see if it persists. 2)Haha, that's quite amusing though...I haven't run into that yet. I will look into it. 3)When it saves your location all it's doing is moving a marker to the players location, that shouldn't cause lag. However, the lag spikes might be something else...noted. 4) There is a chance for the food cache to spawn on skalisty island, more like an extra annoying challenge. All in all, it's hard to debug sometimes, I recieved these issues when the server FPS was extremely low. Is this a dedicated server or a listen server? Try this and see if it solves any of your problems. If you are on a dedicated use #monitor 3 to be viewing the FPS of the server at all times. If it's a listen server...not sure! ][niipaa 11 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Hello J Rock, The mission is classified as Sandbox due to how there are multiple paths to not only one goal, but in the fact that there is no linear way to do something. The player can choose wether surviving with his friends is just good enough, or they can push their luck to search for helicopter parts, or find a stronger holdout. Sandbox more or less just means that everything is left up to player choice, and the mission has the capability to play out many ways. Or so, that is my understanding of it. j rock 10 Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) XD i think i hav misunderstanding what sandbox means well plz forget that comment then XD and i just realize a major bug causing factor which could cause all the bug that i hav reported... we didn't play it the way that mission was design to do.... every time after we die we exit the server then return to the same slot or might cause by joining the slot that been play and dead by other player. it work fine for all version b4 1.4 so we just keep doing it, sorry that i didn't realize it earlier...(thats y we manage to find all five chopper part XD) here is a new bug mission version 1.4b DGN version 1.8 1: it happen only to blu force slot 4 (i think it was the scout slot). some time u would spawn in a falling BH n die..... this problem might exist b4 1.4 i will ask the guy that told me about it again (we start fresh, it was not cause by dying and rejoining the same slot) Edited September 30, 2011 by j rock Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have never run into this issue. 2) That was done upon request. You need to "Eject" out before you crash. It will be changed in the future Chopper even got stuck to another object and exploded when we tried to repair it with all parts collected For the parts, you just throw them next to the heli. Not into it. Not sure how it go stuck to another object. It has no scripts running on it that allow it to attach to anything...Hm. 3) Food/Water is all random. You probably got the short end of the stick. There is also a food stash that has enough food/water to last you forever and a half 4) A story will come along eventually. Right now it's bug squashing time. You can escape the island and win. You have to come up with your own ideas really. There will be side missions eventually along with other side events. Also, If you have any ideas for side-missions/extra things please let me know ^_^ Current Plan: Once we get the JIP completely fixed, everything balanced, and etc we will be re-releasing Degeneration again with a whole lot more content added. (Storylines, Side-missions, and etc). We are going to make it that once a player has a radio they can start recieving messages from other AI Survivors. I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who is taking the time to play and bug test things. You are speeding up the process quite a bit, which is so helpful! Thank you! Thank you! Once a stable Beta is achieved, you will start seeing more and more lore on the history of not only Chernarus' outbreak, but those of the past (Sahrani, Takistan, and a few others), how it started, notable characters, eyewitness accounts, and other things. All of which will tie directly into the Side Missions and Main Mission of Degeneration, as well as the fate of past survivors and the future of our current ragtag band of undead fights, which you yourself will write as you play so to speak. I get that once in a while. Typically once soon after starting the mission then once in a while randomly. Sometimes it's so heavy is red chains like in this: cXf_rFID3TM But it does eventually settle @ 50FPS (Server) when the zombies get cleaned out. Also still have that paa error at the start. With all these people testing Degen is developing at an awesome pace :D Currently, we have made the mission very stable. JIP is almost 100% (Just need to squash 1 bug). j rock 10 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) excellent to hear that u guys still developing this game... love this game, very very replayable. here is another bug report mission version 1.4b2 dgn version 1.8 1: when u mount on to static weapon with the E key u could get into a static cam mode, like spectating mode but looking at ur self and its not a chase cam (dosen't move or follow player)... it might happen only when static weapon is being tow... only soulution i know leave server and rejoin... 2: some time u mount vehicle with E key u could end up seating on top of the vehicle. (this is not a problem since it is only a visual bug, totally no big deal just report it while i m at it) love the E mounting key its exteremely necessary, very thoughtful, totally sutiable for this mission... scroll menu will get u kill every single time... (some hint about the E key in mission note would be nice for new player) 3: some time people lost all medic kit right when the mission start last thing plz make the jip thing more chilling player friendly, like deadplayer can rejoin the mission with out restarting the whole mission, well u can do it now but once dead player rejoin the same slot it is buggy as hell (i know u gys already working hard at it ty and very looking forward to that). to Rexxenexx ty for helping out testing and hunt down the cause of FPS drop professionally,,, n thats excatlly what happen to me i guess XD. no red chain just fps drop and all the sudden surrounded by zomb. sorry that i m not that skillful i just don't know how to hunt bug like he does, i can only report what i c... Thanks J rock. I encountered problem 1 last night actually! I had to get one of my friends to bring over a vehicle so that I could hop in. That fixed it. Will look into it. Problem 2, Some of my friends have encountered this as well, but I believe it has been fixed now. Problem 3, That should be fixed now as well ^_^ As for the FPS drop, I played a couple of hours last night, and with the new horde system I did not encounter it. When setting up a new project, when you get to the "New Sequence" window, check the "Sequence Presets" tab, and you should see AVCHD and if you drop that down, you should see 1080p. Under that try AVCHD 1080p30. Unless that's what you've been using. Honestly I haven't been able to get the same crispness my earlier DiRT videos have from WMM, but I've been trying. Leisure Drive was my only Premiere Pro release, and it is in that AVC Format if you were curious. Anyways grats on the release/fans as always. See you 'round. It starts, then I have less than a minute time to find a weapon and then the zombies come and kill me :D I usually end up running from them, but eventually they catch me or I try to shoot them. The point is that I get too easily outnumbered. I tried escaping with a car, but cars have usually very little fuel so it doesn't very good either. Could anyone give me some good tips how to survive a little longer? But other than that, you are SOL. Truthfully, the hardest part is the first 10 minutes. After that, it gets easier. However, there will be a change in the upcoming Degeneration that will change how the horde works...its in the video I posted above. It makes it easier to begin, but still has difficulty. I would like to play this mission, but at the moment killing and running from endless zombies with or without a weapon seems to be too hard for my taste :D HERE R SOME TIPS OF HOW TO SERVIVE AND THINGS TO DO 1: find a SUV or US military vehicle casue if u get in as driver u will be able to use map but not keep them 2: get a car and get the hell out when hored, as u already know the spawn never end they will just keep coming at u from all direction 3: use dock block when u run out of bandage, what is dock block check out their video 4: there is a way to end the mission, find all five chopper part to fix the damamge BH and fly east NOTE!!!! put the 5 part right next to the BH NOT in its cargo space AND it would only show the repairable BH location if u get a map or gps that u can carry with u at gear point or if u lucky u can find them in vehicle cargo space Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
