That was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in a digital anything. Very nice choice of music as well, adds to the calming scene.

Project awesome is awesome at night :).

actually, night lighting is where I am most disappointed with this game.

Granted there are roadways that have a lit texture, but they produce no actual light effect.

Place a player unit and a helicopter at the Larkin hangar and set the time to late at night.

I could hardly see the helicopter to climb in without adjusting my gamma setting.

I hope the full game at least has placeable streetlamps, or some other light effect object.

If these are already in the game, I apologize. :o

I searched for streetlamps a few days ago and couldn't find any :/

And yes we need some! Please BIS :)

Or did I just look not hard enough?

I don't know either. So I suggest to place some burning car there, at least you get some light :D. Or you can fly during full moon, hopefully you will get enough light, I use this settings.

You are right that night lighting is not strong part of Virtual Reality Engine, but impression when you fly above street is quite good.

Mostly for devs, but how about image mask that covers populated areas, modulated by altitude, to let in some ambient lighting?

I don't think they created the whole cloud system from scratch. According to the splash screen, TakOH uses something called the "Simul Weather SDK". :)

looks very nice! biggest thing is what's with the whacked out traffic - drivers don't know how to drive, cars disappear, some pop in, light or shadow doesn't seem to affect them and cars even seems to change into other cars....

Sounds about right for real Seattle traffic, so what's the problem?

I was wondering whether it was TrueSky that you guys were using. Thanks for the hint. ;)

EDIT: Although it seems TrueSky is simply the name of the Simul Weather SDK. I thought they were two different products, but I guess not.

I'd be willing to port my electrical grids simulation from ArmA to TKOH if there is infratructure in game to support it (power plants, substations, street lamps, etc.)
