"Working" Policecars?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to have working flashlights and Sirens on the Chernarussian policecars?

I would like to make a MP mission where the police arrives a few minutes after shooting has started. But they are not very impressive without flashlights and sirens.

With 1000 open tickets on Dev heaven tracker.... lets all pray, ok? :)

p.s. I'm working on adding lightbars to several cars as new addon, but I lack the knowledge :/ when I do that I loose days... something I can't afford with 4 projects open.

Nearest I've come up with for a police car with a flashing light is to attach a red flashing light on top of white cars and have a police siren sound as a add action, lol but the lights quite faint unless its getting dark.

Well the mission would be at night, so the flashlight would be really needed for the police car. I guess its quite easy to get at least the siren to work?

The cars are very nice but I need something that fits into chernarus. The Civilian Police Car would be great, and I´m really surprised that there isn´t a script or addon to make it work.

Couldn't you attach a flare or some kind of light source to where the light is at? And if you need it going on and off just do some kind of loop or something.

I would be happy with the flashlight just going on and off

The only thing with the flashlight is it dosen't cast off any light, just the beacon lights up red and blinks on and off.

Place a Car White Chernarus, I called mine car1, place a Empty Objects Small - Red light, and in the Red Lights init I used

this attachto [car1,[-0.1,-0.2,0.04]];

That placed it looking about right on the roof of the car, and since it's for the poor police force in Takistan I'm using in my Campaign, it sort of fits the bill.

I'm not sure wether you need the OA_Editor addon though to get access to the small objects in editor or not.

Don't think you do, think it's standard.

I've been thinking about playing around with making light sources by either flares or whatever, though don't flares smoke ?, and attaching them, but just haven't got the time yet.

The Red Light thing would be ok if it was a blue light. Its a shame that there is no possibility to make the light on the Milicia Car rotate. It would be perfect

I have found something. I really don´t know which addon this is but inside

Empty/ASC: EU Lamps I found

b Runwaylight blue

I used four of them and attached them where the flashlight is, its looks kind of ugly if you are right in front of the car, but its ok from the distance, will post more detailed tomorrow

I think its from this addon

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=107269&highlight=ASC+lamps

Here it is:

place a Lada Milicia car in the Editor and name it car1

place four of those runway lamps I mentionedand write this in their init:

Lamp 1:

this attachto [car1,[-0,-0.01,0.06]];

2:

this attachto [car1,[-0,0.13,0.06]];

3:

this attachto [car1,[-0.07,0.08,0.06]];

4:

this attachto [car1,[0.07,0.08,0.06]];

u could try creating a light source (red, blue and white) and looping the intensity of the lights to make it seem like they are flashing

Wouldn´t that be too complicated?

So now we have some sort of Flashlight, now we need the siren, how can I make this?

No, not really. I'll mess with it for a bit.

Obviously not, else someone would have posted anything in the past 10 months.

§10) Do not dig up old threads

Threads older than 4 months should not be dug up unless something significant is being added. If in doubt as to what is "significant", contact a moderator and they will give you their opinion. As always old threads will remain open or be closed at the moderator's discretion. Digging up an old thread simply to ask "any news" is also not acceptable, PM the thread starter or mod leader to ask.

And locked. If someone wants to add something useful to this, you know where the key is.
