Aculaud 0 Posted May 30, 2002 I'm in lamentin, i'm still defending it, i havent seen an enemy for a long while, and nothing is happening. Has anyone ever actually completed it without getting the "Court Martial" ending?
r71 0 Posted May 31, 2002 I have never seen this "Court Martial" thing yet. I know when I first got the game I did not do so good at first. Is this something that was added after the first version? After the first 3 or 4 missions I always got about 4 or 5 stars so maybe it does not happen before that.
Aculaud 0 Posted May 31, 2002 uhhhh.........No, i'm talking about the SINGLE MISSION "convoy". it came with ultimate upgrade
FallenPaladin 0 Posted May 31, 2002 No... You know the tragedy... I`m always court-martialed...
Aculaud 0 Posted May 31, 2002 I swear, man, i'm just convinced at this point that there is no hope of an actual success in that mission. Even if you survive Lamentin getting overthrown, you still get court-martialed because theres no other place to end the mission except the hospital. What really irritates me is that it court matials me for going to the hospital when thats actually what i was ordered to do. I say theres a ton on enemies coming, they say get back to one of our bases, i go to provins, it gets overthrown too, i go to the hospital, they arrest me for a war crime. This mission was just meant to be a no-win situation. Mods, developers, if you're reading this, i'd love you to prove me wrong on this matter.

Aculaud 0 Posted June 1, 2002 Yeah, i'm convinced at this point that this mission is just meant to be an example of a real life mission failure.
elendil004 0 Posted June 1, 2002 never done this mission, but it seems like the cities are unsavable? can you possibly save them? Theres been times when ive sat in a building (one of the mont missions) and camped...shot a round out the door, waited for the AI to investiage, then blown em away one at a time
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted June 2, 2002 I've never been able to complete that mission.
Aculaud 0 Posted June 2, 2002 ITS POSSIBLE!!!!! It IS possible to actually win at that mission. I de-Pbo'd it and looked at the different ending messages on the briefing and it looks like there are four different endings to this mission. Theres one that says Hospital You made it! After long trek you finally reached a friendly base. And then theres On the boat homeCongratulations! You beat back the Russian forces. Excellent work! And then the court matial one, and then theres one that doesnt press any charges against you, but just says that you failed........weird. Now i'm going to be trying to beat this bastard all week. karynova 0 Posted June 2, 2002 I have completed this mission once, but it was extremely hard. I never managed to take down the hind that circled, but I did get at least 3 t80s and a bunch of t72s. Infantry continue to arrive in waves until you radio in and say something like "I see 4 t80s and a bunch of infantry". HQ responds telling you to hold the town if you can, or retreat to a friendly base if you can't. I managed to take out 2 of the 4 t80s before the ammo crates ran out of carl gustavs so I was forced to retreat. There is a jeep and hummer parked in the NW corner. I took the Hummer and floored it all the way to Le Muile I think but it was promptly taken over. I turned around and floored it all the way to the hospital. Once I got within a certain range the mission ended with the Hospital ending. There was a lot of enemy infantry on the way to the hospital so make sure to take the armored Hummer if you can. At some point before I retreated HQ radioed that a boat was at Ac30 or something, which worked out to being very close to the hospital. I never managed to get to it because the mission ended once I got close to the hospital. karynova
Aculaud 0 Posted June 3, 2002 I dont understand it. Thats exactly what i do every time, and i always get court martialed.
Aculaud 0 Posted June 3, 2002 Ok, this has got to be the buggiest mission i have ever seen come out of BIS. And iv played pretty much all of them. I actually got to the point where i was going to get picked up by a ship this time. So i get the message, run down to the boat, and theres this hind coming in from one flank. "8" fires an AA at him, it hits, then i fire a LAW at him, it hits and down he goes. We get into the ship, nothing happens. A little while later, a T-80 comes rolling down the hill. I get out, fire two LAWs at his turret, and disable him, but hes still alive. So i'm like "Ok, i'll be right back. I gotta go get something to beat'cho ass with!" so, i follow it up the hill, get a carl gustav and it starts to flee from me (That was a bit of an ego boost ). However, my rocket was faster than his tracks, so he died. I went back down to the ship, got in, and nothing happend. I had all but two of my guys in the boat, so i got out and killed the two that werent in the boat, and got back in. Still, nothing happened. The ship took some dammage from the hind, so it may have been incapacitated, but still....
Aculaud 0 Posted June 3, 2002 HOSPITAL!!! I DID IT! I finally completed this sonofabitch! Well, i was wrong, the boat hadnt taken too much dammage to float, because i ended up putting two guys in a vulcan and they shot the hind down before it even aimed at the ship. It still wouldnt go though. I got out, got in a hummer and tried to nudge it out to sea more in case it was beached or something. That wasnt it either; still wouldnt go. I ended up having to KILL the driver and gunner so i could get in as the driver and get myself back, but i did it!
Diyab 0 Posted June 4, 2002 It wasn't the hind damage Aculaud, trust me. Â I've been in that pt boat three or four times and it never goes anywhere. Â I even tried killing the boat crew so that I could drive the boat myself but you apparently can not do that. I've only made it through this mission once, but I never got the failed message. Â I think you have to take out the first main wave of tanks and infantry that comes right after you take command before you goto the hospital. Â I could be wrong though. doh! I hate it when someone posts right before me. stop doing that.
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 4, 2002 Maybe it only counts as success when you reach the hospital with vehicles
Stryder 0 Posted June 4, 2002 Wait a sec... How did you depbo it aclaud? I tried it with another official mission, a campaign one, can't remember the name though. It was the mission where you start on this cliff with some rpg soldiers and an officer below you and you have to blow uup these tanks. Oh, and when you kill the rpg soldiers and the officer it says "Another bunch of bad guys bites the dust". Anyway I tried depboing it but it didn't work. The name showed in the editor but when I loaded it nothing happened. One other thing where is the boat you guys are talking about, I didn't see one in Lamentin... I'm actually glad that it's so difficult (seems like alot of missions nowadays just take 30min to complete when they should take 2-3 hours minimum IMO) but I do wish it was possible... Can you guys tell me where the boat is and how to depbo the file?
Diyab 0 Posted June 4, 2002 The boat shows up at af25 or something like that. There is a house with a fence in the rear of the town, back by the medic tent, and if you walk straight down to the shore from there you should be near the right place. You will get a radio message telling you the boat is on it's way. I think you only get that after you take out so many guys.
=BFP=Cheetah 0 Posted June 4, 2002 I accomplished the mission by going back to the hospital. But I also accomplished the mission so that a boat came to pick me up. I got in the boat but it didn't move. So i killed driver and gunner, used the boat to get away and accomplished the mission without court martial it is possible, but the pick-up is buggy
Diyab 0 Posted June 4, 2002 How did you get into the boat? I tried that same thing but it wouldn't let me in the boat as the driver.

Wrong. Just depbo the mission and open it with notepad and then with the mission editor. You'll see that it's not encrypted. Same goes for RedHammer. You can edit it without using de-sqm. I still need desqm for the offical campaign though.
karynova 0 Posted June 6, 2002 Not so on this mission at least. I used PBO Decryptor to extract the convoy mission and then I was able to examine it in the mission editor without any problems. However, it is one bitch of a mission to make any sense of. The map is a maze of waypoints and triggers and all the variables are in Czech so I can't read any of them. Maybe somebody who can read it can make some more sense of it.
Aculaud 0 Posted June 6, 2002 but you can still see the importaint parts, right? All the enemies and where they come from?
FallenPaladin 0 Posted June 6, 2002 Can that help, if you can`t read the triggers for a successful mission ending? The enemy units weren`t such a problem, when I fled the first village
