ARMA 2 : OA beta build 84156

Recommended Posts

Suma,

Can you throw us a bone and include the OH-58D that we see in VBS2 in the next patch? I think the community would appreciate it very much.

You've already had too many bones!

He's busy fixing up a patch, NOT adding content.

Shush !

You'll probably get annoyed (Suma) for me asking again.. But what am I supposed to do? I'm not allowed to ask for content fixes in the Beta Patch forum, because they are not included in test patches. How can I know if it had been forgotten about or maybe it is planned for this release, I can't know. I can't just say nothing and wait until patch 1.16 is released, as it just starts all over again with the next test patch.

There is no point in making the AI smarter if I can spot them so easily due them having this texture bug. It feels like I'm using a hack every time I play. I think I have been pretty patient waiting for this.

I don't know why the issue has not got more votes. But anyone who plays Domination on Takistan suffers this bug every game. You have to admit that's a lot of players affected. And surely all you hardcore players who like your PVP wouldn't want to play as one of these Players Models? It would be like going around with a strobe light on.

If it is already included in the upcoming patch, then disregard and apologies from me for asking again.

Here are some more screens of this bug in a Takistani Domination game.

Agreed. I feel like the primary focus at this point should be MP VSI.

I've been trying out the latest betas and while they seem to have a degree of improved visual performance and other tweaks, I keep returning to and using 79600.

My main problem is that with these later betas my squad AI just refuse to follow any directions whatsoever once they're in "danger" mode. They just stay rooted to whatever spot, refusing to either follow me or move to a designated position, until all OPFOR are dealt with. Once the last enemy is dispatched, the squad might start moving again.

I get this behaviour with no mods of any kind, on any map, with any combination of OPFOR and BLUFOR.

Has anyone else seen this or care to comment. I sincerely hope it's not a "feature".

I'm still seeing problems with AI and vehicles.

If you move a group of enemy units into a vehicle as cargo the opposing force won't open fire even though they can clearly see the AI in the vehicle.

They only open fire when a driver is present.

This only started in the betas and didn't happen in 1.59

Even if you do move a unit into the driver position they only target the driver other units are left alive unless killed by accident.

Playing PMC 02 Reaction scenario, I'm getting consistent flushable CTDs using this beta and NVIDIA driver 280.26.

Also, the rescued hostages in stealth mode will not follow me unless they are standing up. When crouched, they will not move. I believe that at least one opfor still exists, but heaven knows where. Also, they often get injured or even die by falling off the bridge on the road!

Yes, I had something similar. I ordered my squad to hold fire, and the AI just stayed where they are stating "Ready to fire" all the time. I had to move them individually to get them to follow.

Thanks for reporting. Debugging has shown I was wrong in http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=2006113#post2006113, and the DCCanFire was sent to units holding fire as well (not to units with no ammo, though). Fixed in 84253, see also http://dev-heaven.net/issues/23303.

Thanks for attaching the repro mission, it really makes my work a lot easier. Fixed in 84249.

Yeah, I've been getting similar problems even in 1.59. I thought it was my overclock on my GPUs, but I have them at stock now and, while less frequent, I still get the driver crash. No idea what is causing this, but no other game has ever caused the drivers to crash, overclock or not.
