I suspect that the above crash is in fact caused by a recent burst-related ACE reacting with a bad JSRS AK-74 config. But since your development cycle is so much faster than his, I wonder if there's some way to prevent actual CTDs and just settle for RPT spam. I have only had a CTD with this issue after installing latest beta, which curious.

The strange thing is that the crash notification said "Arma 2: Reinforcements has stopped working." I don't have reinforcements, just CO with Lite DLC.

If it was in MP then there's probably no config equality throughout the connected machines.

The crash could be unrelated to those magazine config warnings though.

Ref fixing 3rd party addons; perhaps those who have some time and skill could assist transitions,

reviewing the rpt, changelogs and configs and providing patches for the issues could speed things up, or at least a 3rd party fix for a 3rd party addon can be provided, perhaps a little like Robalo's ACE configs etc.

Though I think it's not that often that config inheritance etc changes.

Config (inheritance) equality throughout connected machines in MP, and not using / allowing addons which have conflicting magazines[] / weapons[] / muzzles[] config properties should limit rpt warnings and possible crashes caused by it.

Best to report the crashes including dump files to CIT though, regardless of all the above, the game shouldn't crash because of config values or unequality throughout MP, besides the cause can very well be rooted elsewhere.

It was SP, in fact. I think I'll wait for it to happen again, because it was a very busy mission with lots of scripts and an experimental beta patch.

Hello

I tried to find out if this was already asked, but could not find anything similar.

I was a huge fan of the nuclear system when it was in the ACE mod, and when I realised that it wasn't going to be put back in, I tried to find a replacement. There are plenty of nuke mods out there, and I was just wondering which one would be the best for the ACE mod, ie most compatible, and most realistic.

Can anyone recommend the best fit?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Right, still recommended to post the logs and dumps to the CIT - none of it should cause crashes, and im sure they wanna know about new crashes introduced in beta patches asap as well, a little haste with these matters imo is more good than bad.

I'm having a horrible time trying to figure out the class names for the mk19 CRSW along with the magazines and tripod i need to use it. Can some one help me with this? I'm trying to add them to an ATV.Thanks alot.

The classlist is very useful for finding that sort of thing. Definitely worth a bookmark if you're going to be doing a lot of that.

Click the LMB in the center and drag along the arrow of the gesture you want and release the LMB after dragging. Release Tab and your character will preform the action.

Here's yet another question about the ACE Wounding System. Previously I have just dropped in the module and let it do it's thing. Now, I want to actually start to do a bit more stuff with it.

For example - I want to place a vehicle on the map that will act like a field hospital where units can be fully healed - I found this in the docs...

ace_w_heal

This variable is used on vehicles to make then medical vehicles/facilities for the wounding system:

this setVariable ["ace_w_heal", true];

This will allow units to get fully healed like they would do on a hospital or and ambulance.

Great! So, I place a Hummer on the map, stuck the script in it's init line, got myself wounded (careless placement of a grenade) and hobbled over to the hummer. What now? Nothing in the Interaction menu, or the self interaction menu (other than the usual options to Treat Wounds).

I have tried it with and without the 'self heal option' set in ACE options, and I am glad this made no difference as my mission will be MP!

I also added the 'Allow full heal on the field' module but this doesn't seem to make any difference to my hummer hospital!

I think I have read everything there is to read on this that I can find and I just can't seem to get any info on it at all.

Anyone out there know how this works? Tips for both player and mission maker would be gratefully receieved.

It means IF you are healed near the hummer, you get healed until 100%, instead of till 90%, 80%, 70%, etc (depending on how often you got healed already in the field).

Non medics can also use medkits near these medical facilities. In the field only medics can use medkits.

In essence "Allow full heal in the field" does the same, but without the need to be close to that hummer.

- aka - you make the wounding system less interesting, and the medic less special/useful.

Shooting with the mortar...

I look up the range in the table, load the shell, get in, aim, shoot and hit the target. Well almost, or at least close enough.

But I cant do that alone in an efficient way?

I tried to aim it, get out, set the mortar to auto-fire, load the shell, it fires and... misses.

Apparently it resets the aiming as soon as I load a shell for auto fire - which makes this whole "fire on load" totally pointless. Or am I doing something wrong here?

And another thing - are there any hot keys for the mortar gunner to fine adjust the aim? Moving the mouse only a mil or two more left/right or up/down is kinda difficult.

Do you mean the whole tube moves? I have never seen that.

Or do you mean that the stupid Semi (Close) setting reverts?

The mortar is not meant to be used by a single soldier. It's called a "crew served weapon" for a reason. :)

Actually, the 60mm can be fired and operated by a single individual. That is the nice thing about it. Sure you can use it for accurate firing with the sight and such, but there is also an aiming system you can use and kind of "eye ball" it.

That's called hand-held, sonny. You attach the cannon to the M8 assault plate, and you can fire HE on charge 0 or 1. There's a little range indicator on the trigger guard with a floating bubble to help you adjust your elevation. As for deflection, you use a precise method we call "eye fucking". You do all this on trigger-fire of course. You orient the weapon downrange, drop the round in (getting your hand out of the way of course in case the firing pin didn't get the memo that its trigger fire), fine tune your aim, and squeeze the trigger.

I'm on holiday and doing some config stuff on my smartphone. Now I want to make a loaout script for a Dshkm (minitripod) team and a AGS-30 team. So basically I need the names of the Dshkm, the AGS-30, their tripods and their magazines. It would be nice to know the weight as well, so that i can keep an eye on that.

I would do this research by my own if I only had a PC or Laptop. The smartphone isn't the best solution for scripting and research....
