America's army is a game being that really has two games, a squad based FPS (like OFP) called Operations: Defend Freedom and a RPG called Soldiers: Empower Yourself. The RPG simulates a soldier's carrier. You choose you specialty in the US army and start out as a lowly private. You set goals for yourself and advance in rank. The two games are interwoven so that what happens in one will affect the other. Just check out the screens and sign up for free preoder of the game now! If you don't get it in time (there are only 1.2 million cds ) you can always download it. If you live outside the US you have to download, they wont ship the CD. It is also legal to copy the CD and hand it out (actually the Army encourages you to do this as the game is designed to attract people to the army). The game is being made by the US army, a world-class team of Defense experts in simulations and virtual environments, and Epic Games. The fact that a large studio is involved assures the quality of the game (just check out the screens! and the fact that the Army is directing it assures the realism of the game. Personally I look forwards especially to Operations. The game will be out by August of this year. Anyone who doesn't sign up for a free cd or download it is a total nut.
