Kick with "Session lost"

Recommended Posts

RESOLVED:See post #9

I have searched and found some topics on this but all were old and had no explanation or resolution so just want to know if anyone has an idea...

I've had no problems joining servers in general but just with one (which happens to be mine) [LRC Gaming]

When I click 'Join' it says 'Wait for Host' and then almost immediately I get kicked with "Session lost" and the server crashes.

This happens even with no mods on server or client.

Relevant ports open in Firewall and forwarded in Router.

Linux server.

All lower case files.

Any ideas...?

Duno if its related but I do have this line in my RPT:

Item str_disp_server_control listed twice

(search gives no info)

what is the item str_disp_server_control? Because that might be your problem. I know it would always do that to me if there were any items that the server didn't recognize, basically, any mods. Had to be perfectly vanilla... Now, if it's just your server then I don't know what to tell you. Tried asking LRC Gaming?

That's in my RPT as well, it's a BIS problem. It wouldn't cause a server crash though.

Post your full client rpt after it happens here.

Thats it...

I have no idea where it is. I searched all editable files I could find.

Weird.

Collect the crash dump files and rpt of the server and send em to Dwarden.

Maybe BI can make some sense of it.

Does the server have a dodgy mission loaded in the missions directory?

Corrupted .pbo uploads can cause the server to crash when you fire it up and join as it then caches them to show to you.

Does your client crash or the server? I ask this because your RPT is either not completely posted here or there's something weird going on. If your client crashes, it definetly lists in the RPT what caused it to crash (Access Violation, etc) and dumps a full list of addons loaded.

Client (me) does not crash. Just booted back to servers list/lobby.

Server (Shared Linux Arma server) crashes. (Can't see RPT on server)

Server log shows:

4:01:50 ME uses modified data file - Arma 2;Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead;Arma 2: British Armed Forces;Arma 2: Private

4:01:50 Player ME connecting.

4:01:52 Player ME connected (id=******).

4:10:47 BattlEye Server: Initialized (v1.116)

Thats it

All files are lower case which is a requirement for Linux.

Other clan-mates have joined without problem so its something to do with my machine.

Gossamer: That RPT is created just by starting ARMA and then exiting.

UPDATE:

I deleted all the MPmissions and now I can join OK.

So I'll upload one mission at a time until I find the culprit

As I said... ;) had the issue in the past and it's a pain to track. Luckily windows servers usually throw an exception message on crash saying Cannot read byte 239239b on mission 'mystupiduploadedpbo.pbo'

If you don't have access to Server RPT's, I suggest you find a new host... it's going to be a pain in the ass to track down issues in the future :)
