Better post the rpt files of clients and the server, hopefully reveals what's up.

Still having the error of losing communication with people 20 feet from you. Happened a couple times on our server since the Hotfix. The AN/PRC-343 & 148 will suddenly stop working in the way of not being able to hear specific people reply to your transmissions. In other words, traffic starts becoming one-way only. Do not know whats causing it, and everyone on our server is running the hotfixed version.

Is anybody else suffering these issues?

Yes, we had a similar problem last sunday, but only one guy's radio was affacted (a helicopter radio). But this was even BEFORE the TS update & the hotfix were released.

I'll see if I can get hold of the .rpts.

I'm playing right now and there is an issue:

On all screens persons shown in the center are the ones transmitting.

Everything was fine from the start, but later this issue appeared.

On these we moved back closer to starting position, notice how 2d distance lowered.

I guess will have to roll back to 1.3.12 :(

Today at 19 hours, we have updated ACRE over SU. At the beginning of the game, everything is OK. But how we get on the map about 1 mile from the start, the radio not working. What is wrong?

Alright, it appears that the issue now is that our positional data isn't updating properly for the signal stuff. So the further away you get from spawn, the worse the signal quality gets until its gone completely.

had not the time to test, but have you marked the box in "playback"-options called "always set clients 3d position when available".

test with these settings again.

Running tonight 30-40 guys. Running the newest ACRE and TeamSpeak 3. A few people got the following error popping up in game.

Also having positional problems with the radios - no matter where you are, the signal appears to originate from the respawn/spawn point, not where the player is broadcasting from.

New fix inbound. Sorry there were a lot of little errors moving it over to per-frame handling for a lot of our "utility" loops like updating player positions (which we have to do because positions at long distances are unreliable in the game engine).

Awesome. Good to know you know what the issue is. We were able to work around it. Great work you guys do!

Heads up, 5.1 is back working for me.

can you post your settings for this plz like did you have to set your sound to stereo

I actually just ran into the direct speaking issue on my laptop. I had it set to quadrophonic for some reason (default, not sure why) and thought it was a totally different bug (raged for a second).

Anyways, set it to stereo and it worked fine. This was over laptop speakers btw (which were not quadrophonic!).

UPDATE!

Version upgrade due to too many hotfixes in 1.3.14: http://raceriv.com/arma2/acre/ACRE_V1.3.15.465.zip

This version hopefully will be stable for a while. :p

cheers Nou but i'm still having the problem of the directional sound with my G35's

Can't really help you there. :( That is a TS issue. Directionally placing a speaker in TS doesn't work right in surround sound mode, and doesn't work at all in stereo (we had to rewrite for stereo usage on our own!).

Maybe sometime in the future we will write full surround sound handling on our own, but its not a priority right now.

lol, why am I not surpirsed to see that comment. :p ;)

So I have the G35 headset and have it turned on with surround sound and have not noticed a problem with ACRE. People talking on my left seem to be heard in the proper 3D location (ie my left ear), etc. So what are the problems exactly?

Download links no longer contain the dsound.dll file?

Now getting an error that dsound.dll from previous version is incorrect and have no replacement for the new update :(

(waiting for the obvious that I hope I've missed)

I'm using a Roccat Kave with an Asus Xonar set to 5.1 in the drivers.

Do note that the Kave is true 5.1 and not virtual. The G35 is virtual 7.1.

Swordsman, there's a post on the JayArmA2Lib thread you might want to take a look at: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=2083748#post2083748

The recent ACRE updates do come with that updated JayArmA2Lib that no longer needs the dsound.dll to work.

Sorry, back again. This still gives me the error about an incorrect JayArma2Lib and dsound.dll installation :(

works only with 87662 or newer ! builds

Sadness... :(

than you use the wrong arma2oa version. you have to use teh newest beta-patch.
