British 'Bulldog' APC

In my opinion the colour should match the BAF and UKF woodland versions.

Cleggy, please don't try to match the colours from the BAF vehicles. They look fuck all like any paint ever applied to British vehicles. The green's far to vibrant, the grey/black stripes have too much of a blue hue to them and frankly they shouldn't even be there in a 2012-2014 time frame.

If you do a woodland bulldog just change the current tan textures to plain olive green or NATO green.

All bulldogs are painted plain green, apart from the ones that were sent to Iraq and uparmoured. So they'd probably just be green if we did ever uparmour them for a woodland theatre. We stopped painting black stripes over stuff several years ago.

I don't think we ever got it night either.

It's was a dead hard colour to match under OFP/ArmA lighting. It either looked too dark and brown in shadow or too pale and green in sunlight :(

ArmA 2's better lighting system would probably help.

I could do a woodland version but afaik they never existed, well not in this version anyway. However if I get enough requests for it why not?... no actually I can think of one good reason ... I hate painting textures! Anyone up for the job?:j:

Actually I rather like the way this is all going.

I've got rhaggan's crewmen playing 'aeroplanes' in the schoolyard and we're discussing paint with da12thMonkey!

I'm not taking the piss here ... I've just fired up ARMA2 to look at the difference between BAF green and UKF green.

ArmA 2's better lighting system would probably help.

I still find it a bugger to deal with - what looks good at one angle looks shite at another!

Thanks for the input anyway guys, it's made my modest little release into something rather entertaining - more of the same please:D

If you want to have a crack at a retexture then you'll have to tell me what you need as I'm a bit of a knob. God help you when you see my UVmaps!

I would like to see the "British' Bulldog 'APC' " rather in the "BAF Group"

The British Armed Forces should be completed by those (great) Add-Ons.

LoL you dont have too much respect for yourself do ya? hehe...

Just send me the one you have now, ill work on that and change it to what I need then when im done ill send you back :)

rhaggan and cleggy that first shot looks like the same issue I have using SMK PVP animations with DAPMAN healing and Ace. (meaning not your addon, but a combination of the above does that in any mission).

Rhaggan is it possible you are using one or more of the above mentioned addons to get some or all of the visual issues with this addon?

Just my two cents.

+1 for woodland camo as well.

I figured it was SMK bt i took all my addons off except cba and the bulldog it done the same and then also took of cba and it didn't work. Im not sure what it could be ive got a copy of the rpt file but its well over 20,000 characters all to do with cfg. skeletons.

Typical for (ST6)Predator is that he isn't able to understand why people don't like to "clutter" default A2OA editor groups and keep their work safe with their own name/tag. Its only right how he likes them to be or else he is angry kid. Just search and you will find similar moaning/crying posts from (ST6)Predator in other threads. Its not a bug. :rolleyes:

Again, I could be wrong, but I believe this method was in place before BAF was released. At least this way people don't confuse BIS units with community work in the event of bugs or compatibility issues.

What I like:

-Almost all of it, it's pretty awesome

-That it's a mech inf unit that won't just destroy everything (warrior)

What I think may improve it:

-More ammo/more ammo per link for the gimpy; 200 rounds per box seems much more missionable

-The ability for the gunner to turn in so that he's crouching in the turret with his head protected by the glass (however unable to fire), otherwise he's a bit of a sitting duck

-The speed config feels a bit too pokey for something that has been described by ex armed forces members in-squad as 'shit'

Hello cleggy,

at first, it is a wonderful APC! Great work!

I use it in my Mission as an taxi, driving from point to point for testing and never get hurt ;)

Seriously it is an amazing AddOn for my mission, included BAF, US and the German Army. I will take it for patroling the enemy lines!

You never get paid for ur work, but get all credits!!

Good points, I bow to you and your squad mate's superior knowledge. I did have a slower top speed at one time. Not sure why I changed it.

Is it just me or is the perception of speed noticably different when turned in/out or in 3rd person?

The gunner can always move to the back (the coward), but that does catapult any cargo into the vacated gunner slot!

rhaggan has been doing some sterling service 'bughunting' the animations -

hopefully get some idea what's going on soon.

Cleggy, could you please raise the armour value a bit. I think it should survive one RPG round, which is not the case now.

Just started in to the long process of downloading an testing with launchers. So if anyone can give me some links to mod launchers it would be appreciated, so far ive got yomatools addon sync and arma 2 launcher and 7th cavs launcher.

I hope someone else will back me up on this when i say the armour values are 'difficult' to get right.

At the moment I have an armour value of 300 which equates to a Bradley.

During testing I found that sometimes a single hit from an rpg will disable it but the crew/cargo would bail. I thought that about right.

Another time it would brew-up if you 'looked at it a bit funny'!

Mind you I had the same result with the BAF Warrior.

Regarding rhaggan's post - he's found out that the 'bulldog' doesn't get on with addon launchers at all. Anyone else using one and getting/not getting a similar result?

My fault, I was testing with the PG7VL rocket, it survives the PG7V. :crazy_o:
