Is this "just for fun" or what? lol so many betas.

Oh thanks for correcting whatever was causing some 3rd-party maps to freeze during loading.

Hehe, reminds me of this:

Airline humour from Qantas

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft.

The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor.

Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.

P: Something loose in cockpit.

S: Something tightened in cockpit.

My favourite was always..

P: Automatic Landing System causes extremely uncomfortable landing.

S: This aircraft is not fitted with an ALS.

Keep the fixes coming - just gonna try this one after a week away.

Downloaded and installed previous beta 20 mins ago, was just about to fire up Arma and then spotted this Grrrrrrr! Damn you BIS! :):p

EDIT, I just installed this beta thinking it was the previous (thinking without looking that the latest in the beta list WAS the previous to this) ... good timing then ;)

Suma and Dwarden have shares in a distillery, hence all the betas driving us to drink!

Game playing great for me,.

This is the most stable beta yet. Memory growth seems to be at a minimum and so far I have not had a CTD (from out of memory or anything else). Also FPS is rock solid. I am playing a homebrew mission (with 72 mods loaded) which used to crash out of memory in around 30 minutes previously. I have been playing for 2 hours with many ALT-TABS and I am still going.

Great work.

I don't think so, malloc=3 should be set by default.

BIS, please write more changes in the log file.

I still use malloc=1 and that's the only setting that does make any troubles for me.

I can also confirm that texture loading seems a bit less jarring with this patch, and the FPS, while one or two FPS lower for me than it was with Beta 81921, (The last Beta I was using regularly, as every Beta between it and this one has actually resulted in lower FPS and more 'stuttering' overall for my system) the framerate seems to be a LOT smoother, with less micro-stuttering or odd hang-ups.

On E08 I average around 55 FPS, and that's with AA and Anisotropic Filtering off, pretty much everything else set to "Normal".

If you're wondering, my system specs are as follows-

Processor- Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80 ghz (Quadcore, but running as 'eight' cores as I can't seem to find the option to disable HT in my system's BIOS...)

RAM- 8 gigs

GPU- ATI Radeon HD 5770 (750 MB of VRAM)

OS- Windows 7 Home Premium 64x

HDD Space- 1 TB

I think my only gripe is that the load times seem to have increased a bit, but it's not all that noticeable, and probably has more to do with my woefully slow hard drive. All-in-all, though, I can definitely confirm this is a step in the right direction.

Running this on our dedicated server... not sure if it was mission related or not but we fired a salvo of AGS30 and M2 at some enemies and the server began to red chain until we had stopped.

Not existant in previous builds to my knowledge. Bandwidth configuration has been stable for many months with many players (up to 60), this instance we only had 5 on.

The game flows smoothly so far. Not noticed anything bad. Tweaked my videocard up a bit for the first time and with the new SSD's this really rocks.

Tested scenarios, editor and a bit of some campaigns and all went well so far. Will keep testing this through the night.

As always, thanks for the unmatched support. :)

EDIT: metalcraze, where do you get flashing black artifacts?

I've played only on Utes and Chernarus with last few betas that have the issue - I get them during first few minutes (they usually flash two or three times during that period) but afterwards I think the game gets back to normal. Still they are kind of annoying

I think I'm getting them too, top half of the screen for may be one or two frames. Real fast like a shadow from a fast moving plane going over head. So fast as to almost imperceivable. Very tricky to describe.

Yes, I've seen that a few times in last two betas, but only for a split second. I have not yet seen it this beta.

The current beta is solid as a rock so far. Awesome speed, PMC video flickering fixed, generally kick ass. It feels really good. More comments to come. Great job, BIS!

-------------------------------------

As others have said, mission load times are perhaps a bit slower, and FPS is maybe 1-2 fps slower than 79600 (48/49 on bench e08). But regardless, this beta rocks the house BIG TIME.

This BETA is better in speed than was few previous betas. All looks nice smooth, even in MENU i have feeling that it is smoother. So far, no crashes. Tested with modes CBA, ACE, SMK, ACRE.

We (about 8 people from our community, CPU Intel/AMD, GPU Nvidia/AMD, OS all Windows7 32/64bit) was never experiencing something like is in that picture above in BETAS for very very long. We have very long ago very simmilar experience, but it was from broken 3D model from addon, and one time have someone broken some game files (detected by BIT comparison with clean install patched files).

We will test it more in MP today, and let you know.

CPU AMD X4, RAM 8GB, GPU AMD 4890 1GB
