Love the model Fox!

Just one little detail about the helmet:

AN/PVS-15s typically have battery pack on the back of the helmet for long term use and to help counter-balance the heavy dual-tubes.

I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere earlier in the thread, but why are you doing them in DCU instead of Multicam, especially the 2012 units? I'm not criticizing, just curious.

These are the early to mid 2000s units (still missing a designation), not my 2012. The top still has the G3 cut though, but I'm working on it.

As far as 2012 stuff goes, I need to start working on LBT gear for that, and I have none of that. I only have eagle and paraclete stuff being worked on.

And at that moment I'll think about multicam, , but i'm also looking at AOR.

I suppose it depends on what type of special forces these are intended to be. If you are shooting for Army Delta or SF ODAs, or AF PJs, then I would use multicam, but for the SEALs or MARSOC, I believe that the AOR would be appropriate. Just my opinion...

Don't worry I've got most of that sorted out, I can only do one unit set at a time, but I assure you it will all come together properly. I'll make sure I label the photos fully in the future as well.

edit:

I've been thinking about doing some VBSS units since their loadouts are very easy, they used/use some LBT flotation vest (can't remember what model)

Picture of Delta in late 2010 AFAIK. Notice the guy is kitted out in Gen2 Crye Combat pants, I think the same goes for MARSOC, they have recently ( By recently, I mean 2010 as well ) ordered Combat gear in Woodland from Crye

Also one thing I have noticed in Arma II mods is the lack of variation of NVG mounts (Personally I have never seen any SF mount PVS 15's on the original mich Rhino's). Also can I also add that the battery packs mentioned are only used with the ANVIS mounts (mostly Delta and late 2009 early 2010 Rangers)

Fox 09', if you want I can send you meshes of some of the NVG mounts I've made quite a while back

[From left to right]

Ops Core original 3 point shroud with Wilcox L4 adapter

Wilcox L3 G10 one hole shroud with Breakaway mount [used by 2011 Rangers and some Special Forces ODA]

ANVIS mount with battery pack [used by 2011 SFOD-D, some SF units]

Let me know what you think, I can send it in almost all popular formats

Yea you're correct on that one. Though the ANVIS still gets quite some use today.

Great mounts and Ops Core helmet you got there!

You sure the crye gen 2 uniforms are 2010? I'm not an expert on crye uniforms so you'll have to help me out here. I was told these were 06-07. As far as MARSOC goes, they ordered fire resistant woodland G3 uniforms iirc.

Looking nice. How about using randomized goggles for the units? Nothing like a little variation. And besides, these look nice as well. Some gloves wouldnt go amiss though.

I was thinking about randomized goggles, i think that may be the way to go. As far as gloves, my glove model has some serious shadow issues that I need to resolve so I replaced all my hands with the bare hand model for now. It'll all come together in the end :)

How about having the goggles as a spectacle option in user profile? Also in turn, how would a unit-based goggle handle a user profile with sunglasses/tac specs already?

Ah good news. Randomized equipment does give each soldier a more personal touch. Certainly a welcome addition that spices things up.

Well randomization is overridden by the user profile, I assure you it will be compatible with the user profile as well, and obviously adding the profile options.

Lennard has been working on the battery pack and soon we'll have the helmet straps screwed in and we'll have some goggle snaps.

I thought I'd compile a quick to-do list of stuff before I can put out some of this stuff for public or private testing. Most likely the order in which it will appear over the course of the next couple weeks.

1. Helmet textures for covers and bare

2. Weighting touchups

3. AO texture overlays

4. some sort of belt, deciding on what to make at the moment.

5. knee pad perfection. Currently they are floating over the leg..

6. LBT & AWSIN drop legs!

7. Pouch configurations

8. Config

Thanks to Jeff I have some lovely mounts to use. It will be a while before they are uvmapped and textured , let alone implemented. They're very detailed as they stand and once they're textures they'll blow your mind. Thanks once again to Jeff.

On a personal note, I'm going on a 1-week vacation late January.
