Next patch wish list

I want to see at next patch:

:mad:-BAF medics with pistol slot

-fix BAF medic inventory bug - by default it has 2 frag grenades and one smoke, and amount of it is more than inventory can holds.

-for BF lite: L85A2 SUSAT sight texture with adequate texture resolution.

-KSK woodland camo

-UN Medics and Engineers

:mad:-fixed BTR-60 camera while player is on driver seat http://dev-heaven.net/issues/11834

-TWS sight on T-72

- No ai improvements

- first and third person hands on weapons/steering wheels and joysticks

- sub component damage on vehicles and planes

- realistic armor penetration

- physics improvements(no flipping tanks on rocks)

- implementing api for better communication with other apps

- render to texture

- fix lod neckholes

- 6 dof head movement

- server admin reserved slot

- user friendly add-on missing messages

- auto map/mission rotating without returning back to lobby at end of missions(pvp)

- ability to log chat messages (server)

- add more multiplayer filters favourite ping under etc

- fix bug where players can see true wall when kneeling and look down at wall

Fix M16A2GL, Colt1911, AK and Bizon sights. They're all pointing down.

Remove or fix the animation that constantly misaligns pistol sights when trying to aim with them.

BIS just needs to keep improving AI - make it engage through windows, don't stand in the open field under fire, crawl under fences and walls with holes, not walk through them (that "ah we'll finish it later"-thing is there for too long) etc. and ArmA2 will go the right way

A breathing simulation from VBS2 would also be nice

Windows I dont think we'll see until next engine upgrade/game. Pretty sure (and I hope they do) create interiors with AI in mind from the ground up. Im guessing scripted behavior ( similar to their ability to recognize corners and lean out) would have to be in place near an individually identified window object. As they are now, I dont belive they are individual objects at all -thats why shooting one breaks many.

Similarly -Im also guessing they'd have to object ID gates with holes etc.. that AI just walk thru right now. At least forcing the AI to use a proper animation stance or action, such as crawl/vault, would be spades better then them just ghostwalking thru.

I would like to see the ArmA 1 buildings that were dropped in A2 included again. The wouldn't have to be on an island/map, but having them included in a BIS ArmAII pbo would open up more possibilities for island makers, would eliminate the need for extra files (to get A1 buildings) and would make things easier for both the community (players) and island makers.

1. Better graphics and that can run on my integrated laptop card on maxed settings at 8000p @60fps

2. Good animations like those seen in Operation Flashpoint Red River

3. Actual Physics

4. Actual reload animations lulz nuff said

5. Super polished and shiny User Interface, enough of this old and boooring green/tan UI that looks like it was made in ms paint.

6. Crysis like Character models with full facial mo cap

Top (reasonable) things that I'd like to see in the next patch.

And yes, keep up the AI improvements please.

How about do something for the trees so that I don't go from 40fps to 14 fps when I look at orange trees, or scope in on most trees and grass?

I've got a GTX460M, and another laptop with dual ATI 4850's, and didn't have any problems with the foliage until some recent patches. And I've messed with the ATOC, Cpucount, and exthreads settings in all possible combinations (Lots of testing) without seeing any real improvement.

Sometimes see funny picture - M113, when gunner is dead, an apc stop and do nothing. Crew do not do anything for survive, no moving apc, no evacuating. Just staying and wait for missile.

It so stupid. Fix this AI scenario.

in short "same, but more"(*Hungry face*).

ie, bugfixes, speed improvement, AI, physics.

armaments, units, re-tweaked config of existed ones.

what annoy me more[than performance blackhole] is how was skies made in Arma 2 :(

look esp horrific in night[with or w/o NVG].

missed old good OFP skies.

but maybe Cold War Rearmed 2 helps w/that. if its out anytime late.

I didn't know that ArmA 3 was coming out next patch?

- AI pathfinding

- AI in Convoys is a mess since OFP.

- AI shooting through windows.

- AI rearming alone from their backpacks or pick up weapons and ammo from killed units without the need to specifically order them to do so.

- More animations for cutscenes

- 3D editor fix

- A user friendly editor interface for briefings and weapon loadouts.

- Extended amount of commands available also when in high command.

- Implementing a command that let's the AI disengage quickly and retreat to safety. This command should override in priority every other AI behaviour. Kind of "we need to haul ass" and we need to get the "hell out of Dodge"

right now.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Yeah, people, this looks like a feature request list for a new game, no way all of that can be included in a single patch.

Right now, I think the best thing to do is vote up bugs in the Community Tracker, that way BI is more likely to give them attention.

Seen enough ai fixes and features in patches. It's time bis starts to pick on some non ai feature requests and fixes. You people never seem to get happy about ai I'm getting tired about it. One day we have a request ai is to easy. The next patch we have a new request to make ai back easy because they are to difficult after the last patch. What I'm trying to Say is they will never ever will be as smart and unpredictable as human players.

More people will see the AI than not, and judge the game largely because of it, therefore it's a key area for BIS' attention.

Ever seen a review for a game with single player that doesn't talk about the AI?

coopr maybe read the changelogs and tell us where BIS made only AI fixes and forgot about improving "some non ai feature requests and fixes"? :rolleyes:

If you play only pvp you shouldn't be worried about more AI fixes and improvements...

Otherwise someone could also suggest

"No pvp improvements or testing speedy + funny but unrealistic features!" :p

Please give the grass a separate drop-down list of options so that it's independent of the object detail settings. This way ppl with weaker video cards can still have a little grass and retain a large object draw distance.

Grass is (mostly?) dependent on the terrain detail setting.

Here some little details, little details makes a big difference sometimes

FIX 1st person view walking animation with the gun up, it looks like the soldiers have a bad leg

What about a more detailed editor DATE and WHEATER? sometimes I need to make a night mission and I need to put a full moon light because theres no NV available

A new map with snow? including offcourse new units
