How about a new AI Please

This Ai sucks they see though everything,they know where you go when you run from them magically. They standup in the middle of a fire fight,they dont listen to what you say and engage at there time of chosing this AI sucks I and all the people that play this game Demand better AI an not some stupid fix here an there the Ai makes the game not the sound and the mods...dont get me wrong mods and sounds are awsome the oneS I have used but Ai SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:PLEASE FIX THEM FOR THE SAKE OF THE GAME. THANKS

Yes, BIS will write up a new AI, stick it in a box and mail it to you ASAP. Allow for up to 2 business days for delivery. :)

As a little bit of helpful advice, calm down, try to use proper punctuation, and make your criticisms concise and constructive. People will take you more seriously as a result, and will be more inclined to help/listen to you.

Dude please, in another thread you wrote that you run around in front of AI that's looking for you and then complain that AI spots you "through everything"

Yes if you run to the right AI should instead watch your left hand side lol

number 1 I don't run to the ai I run from them in another direction before they get a full beat on me. Here is what I did,I set some opfor squad down the road with waypoints coming my direction I move up the hill FILLED with BUSHES and I'm wearing a ghili suit that matches the color of the area around me using the ghili suit script. I then set up for the shot, I shoot hit he's down and now there alerted I move to another location in prone position and take a second shot. I shoot hit he's also down now there firing my way I quickly move with out them seeing me in PRONE position and they start firing closer to me and closer then finally I run though real thick bush and try and hide but they track me down. By the way I took both shots 300ms away with silenced TAC50 snd sd rounds. So now that pissed me off.

Also how do you know they don't see you moving? Because you don't see them?

The human eye looks for movement... you were "quickly moving".

Do you think ghillie suits turn you invisible?

Edit: If you're such a genius, write a new AI yourself. I'm sure BIS would appreciate it. Until then, please be quiet. The ARMA AI is far more sophisticated than that in any other game (because most FPS's are corridor shooters). It's immensely complicated, and it works.

In fact, BIS's AI is one of the few "true" AIs in any game. The enemies in CoD, etc... they all follow scripted routines. This, however, works on any island, with any weapons, against all kinds of opponents. It's not perfect but what it lacks in "illusion" (scripted routines making bots look like intelligent enemies), it makes up for in versatility.

im sure we can all sit here an spout off a list of 50 things we would like to see the AI do/improve, but we do have to acknowledge just how sophisticated these AIs really are.

they may look dumb, lack any grace or charm, but they really are very impressive.

they are also misunderstood. when they get things right, people call them cheaters with x ray vision, and when they fail people decry it as horrible or broken.

I suggest you go to cornfield in podagorsk, where you can play hide-and-seek with AI.

In nowadays version of ARMA2, If you say AI can still see everything, there are two possible reasons:

1. the map has some visual issues

2. you expose yourself

Of course, I think the AI's memory for your movement should get some fix. Especially for some bad weather (heavy fog or rain or snow or sand storm etc.) or dark night and rainforest, AI should be more easy to lose your way.

Thanks for posting that. I was shocked by how quiet ACE's version was. But I suppose their sounds are rather subdued in any case.

More important than sound, did you see the huge quantity of smoke that shot put out? With .50 snipers, the visual component will force you to displace every time, and not at a sprint, ffs.

While i disagree with the tone of the OP, i agree to his complaints.

The points he listed are still among the most annoying AI Bugs since OFP or Arma1.

Yes, we all do indeed know that Armas AI is not scripted like in most other todays games, but Jesus H Christ, these annoying things must be able to be fixed.

An no, the solution is not to get used to it (even if you do automatically over time), they should be fixed, period.

Finally someone agrees with my complaints...These are very important complaints in the fact that the bluefor AI should work with you and listen other wise they just die quick....I usually snipe at 800 to 1000m away but I want to try different experiments to see how the Ai works an understand why they do what they do. You see I have tested Zeus Ai and found it to be to much the Ai really knew every move you make the flanking was great but they saw me 800m out not only that I shot and moved in prone position and ask anyone they can not and shouldn't see that far unless they have a scope or binoculars. GL4 was good but seem to give a to sight at night along slx only good thing about slx is the firstaid and different animation and blood effects. I have tested both Ai will Ace Ai as well to see a difference and it really mad them to aware where a silenced rifle would give you away at 300m and I understand its not that silent but 300 m is pretty far muffle the sound pretty good and not give away your position. Also I found with the AI hey know what buildings you go to even if you slip out the back and enter another building out of there site. So don't kill the messenger I'm just reporting my frustrations and others that have seen these things happen..Night vision is really bad one they dont nvgs and they some how know just where to shoot. So review my complaints and see for yourselves

How about stop trying to make constant changes to the ai. I have seen enough changes and improvements. Your playing against COMPUTER controlled enemys they are and will never be as clever and unpredictable as HUMAN controlled enemys. Please bis pick up features from dev heaven that will improve pvp gameplay!

Geez I don't know how bad you play that AI gives you a trouble even from 800m. I snipe AIs from 500m at Takistan which is a bit of a desert without any silencers and they die a lot before they finally manage to find and suppress me enough.

Get used to what?

My only problems with AI right now is that it's too blind for my taste. Vanilla AI won't even spot an enemy chopper hovering 1 km away. At least Zeus AI helps that

Takistan, dropped an enemy patrol 450-500m away from me on a road, used the default time (16:20)

Took Force Recon sniper (no ghillie), grabbed a non-silenced M110 which is quite loud, went onto a hill without any bushes at all, went prone there. Killed a few guys. Missed a lot. Fired like 50 shots in total. AI never managed to spot me. They were looking in all directions, did a few shots here and there, in the end they just ran away behind another hill. They never even looked into my direction or tried to advance on me.

That's with Zeus AI (that knows your every move © ) and AI skill 0.99

All I did is just lying on that empty hill, shooting. Am I a Master Of Stealth or something?

I mean that isn't even funny. The AI was blind as a bat there. And deaf. Why would you want to make it even worse?

Actually it uses better tactics than PvP players on every public PvP server I've played. And yes it doesn't TK you if that's what you mean by a human unpredictability.

The AI in the aware state does have quite good night vision sans NVGs, but this is somewhat necessary balance. Otherwise you could walk all over them.

And really, seeing muzzle flashes at night is a lot easier than scanning an entire hillside full of foliage for a camouflaged shooter in broad daylight.

ai were ok pre 1.59. they were hard to fight against and challenging

but now that 1.59 is out - holy shit - the ai is now amazing

Now that findcover has been fixed, the ai always search out for cover and engage from cover. It happens all the time and its consistent now, Zeus ai is not even needed anymore either. AI actually surpress you now too.

Im so glad that the ai are working with cover now - this just makes the game so much better and challenging

I dont want to offend anyone because I appreciate all the work that is done on Arma by BIS, they have stellar after market support and interaction with the community. But....

I don't know about anyone else, but I play Coop exclusively (DOM, Evo, CTI etc) and have done since OFP. I have to be honest and say that the AI I fight in towns now are no different at all to fight against than the AI in Arma1. They do the odd new thing, like use there m203 launchers (a bit too often and at the wrong times mostly no less, but still it's nice to be shelled :) ) but for the most part they seem to me to be identical.

Basically I think we have had enough AI tweaking for now and I would like to really see more content fixes, like texture bugs/ island bugs/ building bugs/ graphical glitches/ vehicle bugs /weapons systems etc fixed. Not that they arnt looking at them now, they are. Just more of it would be good, especially in favour of AI fixes.

That's just my opinion :)

PS. I also don't think the AI are that bad, they have their limitations but the fact they provide as good of a fight as they do testify to how good they are. Especially compared to any other game out there.
